Cala grinned and winked at Dain. "Nice job." She continued to chuckle as she left the room.
Lilly had curled her knees up to her chest and was breathing like crazy.

Dain kept a hold of one of her hands as they made their way downstairs.

Cala had all four burners going with pans of various foods in them. From scrambled eggs to hashbrowns, to a pan full of thick southern gravy for the biscuits that were in the oven. On top of everything else, Cala had a pitcher of orange juice and a pot of coffee on the table with a giant bowl of fruits sitting on the table.
"Bout time you two got down here." Cala smiled at them.

Cala just shook her head. "No problem at all sweetie. Now you two sit down and I'll get everything dished out."
Lilly dragged Dain over to the table.

Dain sat down next to Lilly and watched Cala. He really didn't get home cooked meals all that often.

Lilly rolled her eyes and leaned over to Dain to whisper so Cala couldn't hear. "She uses any excuse to make her southern breakfasts. The sun isn't even out yet and she's made enough food for half the town."
