"Why?" She managed to choke out between sobs. "Why am I like this?" She took a shaky breath. "Why can't I just be happy?"

"I...I-I just ruin everything!" She closed her eyes and tried to stop crying but it was a useless attempt. "I-I screwed up a-about the whole two weeks of-of not talking...and then with th-the condom...and I...I ruined lunch...which made Gran a-angry and...I...tried to make it b-better and ended up getting sh-shot...and now I can't st-stop crying like a b-baby..."

Dain shook his head. "None of that matters any more. Everything is fixed. Let it go. If you keep all of it it will eat away at you and you'll become a depressed loser like I did." He sighed. "That's why I've tried to kill myself. I couldn't let go of the bad things that have happened in my life and they would just come back and attack me and I wasn't strong enough to handle it..."

Lilly was trying her best to stop crying. How could he just say that when it was so hard? She couldn't get her mind off of everything that she had screwed up.
