Carl nodded. "I'll be right back, gotta check my tables." Carl left for his rounds.

Lilly pulled into the parking lot and rested her forehead on the wheel. Why was she such a mess?

Carl came back a short time later and sighed. "I might strangle that small child." He grunted, "So what can I get ya?"

Lilly finally slid out of the car and locked it up. She headed up the stairs but stopped half way up. She just sat down on the steps and sighed.

Dain laughed. "Just get me a big thing of fettuccine and a large salad. I figured I could share it with Lilly or keep the leftovers."

Dain rolled his eyes. "I kept asking her if she wanted me to get her something earlier and she said no. I wasn't really thinking, okay? That's why I ordered a bunch of extra food to take back."
