Akemi looked at Kyle curiously, but decided that he'd been here longer and had probably seen enough of the town to know this.
"Well," she said cheerfully, "that means things are getting better. Soon you'll remember everything, and then we can tell that Shade what a load of crap he just told us, right?" She smiled brightly and pulled Kyle up from off the ground.
"So how's the walking doing?" she asked. "You all okay?"

"I can walk, thanks," Kyle said, smiling at her. "and Akemi... Back at the islands, I had a flashback... And... I think I did destroy worlds." He looked down at his feet. "I feel like a beast."

Akemi stopped.
So it was true? He hadn't been lying...well, this was...
Totally awkward. What could she say? What did she even think about it? Was she mad...was she appalled? Was she miserably upset? She couldn't tell. Her mind was a big blank.
"Um..." she stammered out finally, quietly. "Do you remember why? If I'm not prying..."

"I don't know Akemi. I feel as if a curse is set on me. But I wouldn't destroy a word now. I only want to protect you," he said. He led the way to the hotel.

Akemi glanced back at the other two to make sure they were coming along, and then followed.
She looked down at her feet and smiled, though she didn't know why she was smiling at the moment. It was just...still, out of nowhere this boy had come and sworn his allegiance to her. Not Katsu, not even Sora, or...whatever. Her.
What was so special about her? Why did he still affirm his loyalty to her even after the clear one they needed to protect, her brother, had rejoined them?
She looked back up at the back of his head, smiling brightly once again. "Then it doesn't matter, does it? Just don't worry about it...or I'll have to smack you."

He didn't know or understand the feeling he had. He looked at her and smiled. "The only thing I worry about is if you're safe or not," he said.

There it was again. How uncomfortable it made her. She wasn't used to this attention. How was she supposed to respond?
"Well, then I think you've got your priorities a teensy bit mixed up," Akemi decided on eventually, and ran into the hotel she now saw ahead of them, laughing. "But oh, well, at least you're not worrying about what you shouldn't. Now let's see...ooh, this is nice, I love it! Red Room, Green Room, or Blue Room, do you think?"

"Hm..." Akemi said, pushing open the door of the hotel's Red Room and ushering everyone in, then giving a cocky smile to her brother, who was probably wondering over her uncharacteristic show of leadership.
Maybe this "power trip," as he had called it, had gone to her head. Ah, well, it was fun, and as long as Katsu didn't say anything about it, she wouldn't make any effort to change it.
"Well," she said, plopping onto a bed and leaning against the adjacent wall, "I guess that makes sense. But I still think you'd be better off protecting someone who matters," she grinned, with a jerk of the head at Katsu. His head probably got even bigger after that. But oh well. Ha.
"Anyway," Akemi said with finality, wanting to change the subject. "I suggest we all get some sleepy-time, then Katsu, you can tell us where our next keyblade is to be found, and we can keep a watch for Akio."
She nodded with satisfaction at her plan and yawned deeply. "I'll be in the room next door," she notified them, but didn't make any moves to leave just yet.

((Why must I keep on babbling on so? Even now my posts are like...forever long xD))
Akemi, whose eyes had been drifting shut and whose head had been leaning up against the wall, slowly sat up straight again.
"Kyle, Kyle," she laughed lightly, "you just make too much sense. You make me feel stupid. But you're right, of course." She smiled, letting him know she was grateful, and then dragged herself off the bed.
"I"--yawn--"I'll be seeing you guys..." she mumbled, dragging her feet to the door between the two rooms. Not only was she dead exhausted, but she was half-asleep as well.

"Good night Akemi," Kyle said. Kyle went to the couch to leave the other two dispute over who would get the bed. He sat down and closed his eyes, thinking over what happened to him. He lost his memory, killed heartless, and ended up and Traverse Town. And he had met this amazing girl, Akemi. Kyle didn't know if he had had this feeling before.
Kyle drifted off to sleep. While he slept, he had memories of Shade, the destruction of worlds, and the present time. Shade said he would kill them all. And yet Kyle was not dead when a crystal went into his chest. And now Shade was going to kill Akemi next. What would Kyle do?

Akemi, despite her fatigue, couldn't help thinking a little before falling asleep.
It was weird, you know? Just now, she realized something. Kyle was really vocal about his devotion. But she had never made any similar declarations to her brother...or any of her friends, for that matter.
But now she knew for sure, that, you know...she really would do anything for them.
Akemi blushed at her uncharacteristic sentimentality. It was a shame that she'd never have the guts to tell them this...
OH, well. She could tell them now, and wouldn't be embarrassed, because no one could hear her.
"Katsu," she said aloud to the air, "Ski...Kyle. I will protect you. I promise."
Finally she closed her eyes and smiled, as if hiding some secret. She had felt so many things since the whole war with Akio started...anger, fear, love and devotion, sadness...but it had been a long time since she'd been this happy.

apart from Akemi, Kyle's dreams weren't so pleasent. It was bloody and brutal. Murder, slaughter. Kyle was once this monster that killed anything that stood in his way. But why did he destroy worlds? Was it Shade, or was it the hunger for more bloodshed?
