Eyeing his family and knowing his father had gone out on Patrol, Ferrian sighed and realised how glad he was that his mother was home. He glanced at his brothers, then stood, pacing up the river. He came to a stone wall, half coverd in vines and brush, and pushed one of the bushes aside. A hole appeared behind the bush, and she stepped into it, knowing the tunnel led directly to Rose Wings Pride. As his body moved farther into the tunnel, the bush slid back into place, leaving no trace of his passing. He knew he wouldn't be missed or needed for some time, so he happily set out to visit his friend Talcorin, and perhaps the rest of the Rose Wings Pride.
Halting in his play, Ini froze with one forepaw raised and his head cocked in question. He didn't see where the dark coated Prince had gone, nor did he realize when Ferrian left.. He just suddenly noted his older brother was no longer there. "Huh.. That's funny." He mused to himself. "I wonder where he went?"

Halting in mid-stride, Ferrian titlted his head and listened to the sound of his father's voice. He seemed to be speaking to a young cub.. Well.. Now was as good as a time as any to tell Kall his secret. He turned and paced back up the way he had come, heart fluttering. He had been traveling beyond the Pride boarders since he was old enough to toddle out there as a cub.. And recently.... Wistaria... The very wind seemed to laugh her name as he stepped back into the light, his thoughts a blur of her words, and smile... Giving himself a shake, he sped to a trot towards his father and the cub. "Father.. Can I speak to you?"
Glancing at the kit, Kall turned and smiled at his eldest son. "Of course Ferrian.." He looked back at Sano.. "If you will excuse me for a moment, little traveler..." Stepping away from the cub, Kall led his son a few paces away where they could whisper without being overheard. Turning to consider his heir, he noted Ferrian was seemingly on edge, and shifting slightly as though unsure where to begin. "Ferrian?"
"Father.. Since I was a cub I have been exploring outside your lands.. And.. Recently.. I met a lioness, the Lady Wistaria.. We have spoken many times since, and.." He took a deep breath and looked his sire and King right in the eyes. "Yesterday I asked her to be my mate. I would bring her here for your blessing, if you do not mind recieving such a visitor."
Kall eyed his son, perhaps for the first time seeing him as the future of Cyan Serenity, the King. Leader and Protector. He glanced at the cub crouched some paces away, and new that if Ferrian was King, he would protect the lad, and so would any Queen Ferrian chose. He was perhaps one of the few who had a true heart, and the ability to bring that out in others. "I would be deeply honored to meet your Lady, Prince Ferrian, Future Hope of Cyan Serenity." Kall rumbled with a slight bow of his head.
Ferrian gazed at his father, momentarily speechless, and then bowed in return. When he straightened, he stepped forward and rested his head against his father's shoulder, smiling with a large brown paw wrapped around his shoulders for a moment in a hug. "Thank you father..." He murmured.
Kall nodded and watched his son trot off away from the Pride Lands, and then turned to Sano once more. He approached the cub and sat once again, eyeing the lad with a kind cyan gaze. "So.. Where were we young Sano? Would you like to get some food?"

Sanoshi smiled up at the much older lion. "i perfer to be called Sano...and yes sir, i am quite hungry..." shifting, he glanced around the open lands. Smiling, he watched a flock of birds fly off toward the sun.

Kall nodded. "Sano you are then!" He smiled and turned back towards the den. "Tell me my fine lad, would some gazelle do?" He knew there was the better part of a gazelle at the den, from a kill not long finished. The cubs had been fed and tended, and he was sure there was plenty of meet for this youngster. Pausing to glance back into the lands, his keen eyes recognized Ferrian's distant shape, and he smiled. His first born son had a mate.. Wait until Fayola found out.

Sano nodded sharply, grinning. "anything would do right now!" he laughed, trotting to catch up to his new king, and he hoped, a father figure. His eyes darted around the new land, trying to take it all in.

Kall chuckled and led the cub up the rise to the plateau, and toward the den. The kill was still tucked just inside the den, out of the sun or the sight of birds. He nodded to Sano and gestured to the meal, settling in the sun to wait for the lad to finish.

Sano grinned, and walked slowly over to the kill. Finding a place, he bit into the meat and savored its taste. How long had it been since he had fresh meat? To long, in his opinion. Licking his muzzle clean, he trotted over to the cyan King. "thank you..." he said, looking up at the King, "it is been a long time since i had a good meal..."

"Have you had your fill?" Kall asked, smiling. "And you are welcome.. Did you enjoy it?" He glanced around, wondering who had made the kill, and decided it didn't matter. All of the lions in his Pride were accomplished hunters or huntresses.. They hunted when they felt the need, and shared. It was more a family than a Pride.

Not long after the young Sano's arrival.. Kallivenion became aware of a startling fact. Where once Cyan Serenity was like a family, things were about to change drastically. At least, for the Royal Family. Fayola, the Queen, was dead. Found slain up in the mountain peaks, there is no telling what aided in her departure from this world, but she would never again return to Cyan Serenity. Distraught at this, Kall forbid Inishiro (the most wayward of wanderers it seemed) from leaving the Pride Lands, and retreated into the mountain.. Hidden within, he mourned the loss of his Queen and Mate.. His true love... Knowing Dashira was at Scarlet Shadows slightly relieved him, for he did not have to fear for her well being or that of Keyisha who was the ruler of her own Pride. But the loss of his mate wounded him deeply, and there was no telling if he could heal.
Ferrian stepped up as the Ruler of the Pride, until his father returned from mourning or until he was King in truth, as it was the Crown Prince's Job to do. Newly returned from his journey to Amethyst Waters, he brought his new mate with him. The Lady Wistaria.

To Sano, the news was shocking. The queen, whom he had never met, was dead. So much had changed in the short time that he was here, Ferrian, and his mate, Wistaria, and taken over running the pride, and Kall, and gone in to the mountian, far away from any of them. He new the winds of change were blowing, and to be honset, he wasn't to fond of that. Ferrian, was doing a wonderful job as king, and holding his emotions in quite well, after the shocking news. The other children of Kall, were doing all right, as far as he could tell. But this was not the Pride he had joined, but he hoped, that someday, it would all get better. And, he new that day was soon.

Wistaria, upon arriving, had taken up her own role to the very best of her abilities. To try and provide Ferrian with the support he needed, both in the pride's duties and emotionally. She'd never known the queen, and now, never would -- but nonetheless, her heart ached for her mate and his family alike.
Now? A new change was emerging, hovering on the horizon of the distressed pride's future. Wistaria only hoped this news would bring some much needed joy to the pride. She sought Ferrian out, trying her hardest to stifle the nervous butterflies flitting to and fro in the pit of her stomach... which was growing just a touch rounder, if one looked carefully enough...
Tengai was still in shock. He was accustomed enough to death itself... but it had never really hit home that his family was as mortal as anything else in the world. Especially his parents, the very heart and center of the young prince's world.
He was numb, detached -- and for the first time in his life, he felt alone. His mother was dead. His father was gone, for who knew how long. Ferrian was busy with the pride and his new mate. Inishiro had gotten so secretive since he'd grown up... and Rahepsi was vanished not long after news of Fayola's death had reached them. There was that part of him still that desperately hoped this was just a dream. That any minute now, Fayola and Kall would come striding back, side by side, and everything would be okay again.
Tengai longed desperately for Mei's company, now more than ever. Even a short visit would have been fine with him, so long as he could see her. But their times together tended to be short, fleeting, sporadic; he didn't even know where she lived...

Ferrian had spent his Pre-Dawn hour patrolling as was the King's Job, and then watched the sunrise from the King's Falls. Once his father's favorite retreat, it had been abandoned for one of the mountain's many caves, where Ferrian knew his father was roaring out his grief. When the one you love, the only one you'll love, dies.. What else can you do? But grieve.. And grieve... And it still hurt. Bowing his head, Ferrian thought of the last conversation he had with his mother. How she had told him she mourned all the hearts he would break. And now he was the one breaking, slowly, but still. He had his mate, his love, and came back to find his mother slain, his father nearly mad with grief, and his brothers in chaos. Inishiro would hardly speak, of the incident or much else. He dissappeared each night and returned near dawn, refusing to say a word about where he had been, what he had seen, or much of anything else. Rahepsi was gone... And Tengai was thrown into utter turmoil as his family collapsed around him. Ferrian ferverently wished for Dashira's Shaman Touch, praying she could heal their father, and perhaps smooth things over.. But if she was gone, it was because she was needed.. And he could not call her back. With a sigh, he stepped from the falls, shaking the water from his coat. He felt the need to see Wistaria, to speak to her, and so he sought her out.

The earth stirred gently under her paws. She no longer held herself in a regal form, but dead and lost. Her family seemed to have forgotten her, as she should have forgotten them. Her once beautiful magenta fur was now dulled with caked mud, dirt, and blood. Her limp was pretty much obvious as she came to the edge of the territory. Tired, she fell giving a pathetic excuse for a roar. It took much of her vocal strength, having no food or water for days really did that to a once mighty huntress. Her eyes seemed slightly glazed as they became half-lidded. Through all this time, this is what she had become: from Magenta Rose to Rotting Corpse. She began to wonder if anyone would find her...

Sanoshi, hearing at pitiful roar, turned to get Ferrian's attention. Realizing that Ferrian was busy, he hopped of the rock and headed in the direction of the roar. As he walked toward the edge of the lands, and was about to turn back, he noticed, what looked to be, a lump of magenta fur. Trotting over to the lump, he noticed the lump was indeed, not a lump, but a lioness. Eyes wide in shock, he ran over to the lioness to check if she was alright. "M'lady...?" he wispered softly, pawing at her face, " M'lady...are..you alright?" realizing that she was indeed not alright, he let out a roar, to alert Ferrian that he needed his help. All the while, trying to revive the lioness.

Ferrian had ceased his in his search for Wistaria as soon as he heard the strange, faint roar of a stranger. The lioness was weak, it seemed, for he knew she was waiting at the border. Glancing in the cave, he noted there was food, and set out at a run to help the stranger. Hearing Sano's roar- the roar of a cub- made him smile and increase his speed. He came to them quickly enough, and nodded at the young cub. "You'd make fine Scout Sano." He grinned, and then delicately poked at the lioness with a paw. "My Lady.. If you can hear me.. I am Crown Prince Ferrian, acting King for Cyan Serenity Pride.. I'm going to carry you back to our Den, if you do not object..." He glanced back at the cub. "If she can't hear me.. She has nothing to worry about anyway.."
