"You know why." He snapped, again talking to the both of them. "You might have nothing to lose with a little fling, but I do. I have a career to think about, that something like this could ruin."

He couldn't believe that he was letting her back him into a wall like an animal. But, yes, he felt his back hit the wall of the corridor they stood in, between two shops, locked tight. The only way out would be to man-handle her.

Which wouldn't be too hard, considering.

"Even a few months make a big difference in a lawsuit." He answered stubbornly, avoiding looking her in the eye. It was obvious that his breathing had picked up, and he'd placed his palms firmly against the wall behind him. "And what would make you think I want anything to do with you?" It was lame, and he knew it somewhere, but he was getting desperate. He didn't know how much longer he could control himself.

He'd been right to avoid her for those few hours, apparently. Now that she knew he was attracted to her, she was going to use it against him to get what she wanted from him. Which was...?

When she placed her hands on his chest he sucked in a breath, almost a gasp. His hands clenched into fists against the wall and his whole body tensed. "What do you want?" He asked, trying hard not to think about her warm hands against his chest.

The amount of emotion in her voice caused him to look up and meet her eyes, and he practically fell into them. The emotion was overwhelming. He could no longer ignore her hands poised on his chest, trapping him with their light, wanting touch. "You hardly know me." He whispered. That hardly seemed to matter. The attraction between them was practically tangible.

He held his breath the whole time as she dragged her hands down his chest to his waist. This was insane. "And how is that?" He asked softly, practically stalling for time. Maybe if she explained how she felt 'around him', it would give them both a bit of sanity. There was only an inch between their bodies, and everything in him ached to close that distance.

His brow furrowed at her words, which were oddly touching. He...had that affect on someone? Someone he'd hardly known for a day? She must be so lonely to want him so badly. His heart went out to her. If only there was some way he could help her in her miserable situation. If only she'd except his help.

But she would. He could help her. She was giving him the opportunity right now, even as she gazed up into his face with those insanely purple, commanding eyes of hers. He could help her by making her day. Maybe even her night.

He tore his gaze from hers, looking at the floor further on down the corridor. What on earth about him made her feel protected and wanted? He was practically using her for his own, sick entertainment. He scowled in self-hate.

His hands moved to his waist and he gently cupped her small, feminine hands in his large masculine ones. "This isn't a good idea, Shade." He said quietly, gently pulling her hands from his belt loops. "I'll only hurt you."

He wanted to pull her closer. He wanted to push her away. He couldn't let go of her hands.

"What happens when the blizzard stops, hmm? I go back to my comfortable home and job in the rich side of town and you go where? Back on the streets?"
