Kaleb managed to smile back, relieved that his friend wasn't going to leave him all alone even for a minute while Riley wasn't around. "I-I think I'd like that," he replied, and then he smiled a bit more. "It sounds really odd to hear you talking a-about my wings," he admitted with a small blush. It would take a bit of getting used to, but at least he was talking with someone who had already been through all that.
"Y-you'll come to visit me, right?" The little mage asked quickly.

He found the bottle of his pills and snagged one along with a glass of water. His phone was still in his pocket so he'd call the office and tell them that they weren't coming back. Rude could being him his car since he didn't live that far away.

"You'll get used to it..."
Demyx smiled down at his friend, tails flicking behind him a bit. Wings were a rather odd thing to get used to, but once one did they could be a valuable tool. And, of course, a lot of fun.
"And of course I'll come to visit you! Why wouldn't I?"

Kaleb smiled in return, and his own good tail twitched once in a lousy imitation of a tail wag. It hurt, but by that point he was too worn out to care about a little extra pain.
"I-I was afraid you would have things to do... Second in command stuff..." Certainly now that Demyx was really high up he wouldn't have much time to drop by to check up on the mage. Kaleb didn't doubt how much his friend cared, but he didn't want to be unrealistic about having some extra company every now and then.

He came back out with the painkillers and the water and sat down beside Kaleb. "Can ya get up enough ta drink this?"
He looked up at Demyx as he held to the stuff to his partner. "I guess .... long as Kaleb's 'ere ya can come over whenever ya want."

"I might be second in command, but I'll always have time for my friends. Besides, Saix does most of the leadery stuff. I just help him out."
He'd leave out about how he had his own group to look over, and lead, and how they were deciphering reports and the like. He was busy, sure, but he'd always make time to visit Kaleb. -Especially- while he was hurt like this.
"Thanks..."
Nodding to Riley, the sitarist briefly smiled at him before turning back to Kaleb. It was a relief knowing the other didn't mind if he visited, but truth be told he would have even without permission from the other.

Kaleb smiled, grateful that Demyx would visit, and that Riley was okay with it. It really did mean a lot to him.
Once he set that aside to consider what needed to get done, he hesitated a long time before he was able to gather the courage to try moving. After a last deep breath he struggled to get his upper body off the ground, and then shifted himself over enough to collapse with one shoulder resting against Riley's coffee table.
He whimpered pitifully and his wings hung limp from his back, but he would be able to take the painkiller that way.

He winced as Kaleb moved. It had to hurt even sitting up like that. His partner just needed to get the painkillers swallowed so he'd pass out or something. Then he could get him in bed and maybe stop worrying for an hour or so.

"K-k-kaleb?!"
Hopping to his feet, Demyx nervously fidgeted around the mage as he made the move. That had to hurt...-really- badly.
"Y-y-you need to get s-somewhere you can stay without moving..."

It took a couple seconds for Kaleb to get used to the pain, and his first rational thought after sort of sitting up was the hope that he hadn't jarred his wounds open again. It certainly felt like he had, but then again, everything hurt so much it would be impossible to tell.
The mage took the painkiller Riley offered with a shaking hand and stuck it in his mouth. When he took the water, he had been sure he would spill it while trying to bring it to his lips, but somehow he managed to keep it all in the glass. Then he allowed himself the luxury of wiping away the tears forming at the corners of his eyes. "I-it r-really hurts," he stuttered quietly. "A-am I bleeding again?"

He slid around his partner to check if his wounds had opened again. "umm ... yea, one wing ... i'll chance the bandage after the painkillers start working okay?" It would be easy that way.
The pills should knock Kaleb out and then he could get him to bed and redress his wounds.

"D-don't worry about it Kaleb...like Riley said, it can get f-fixed later. Just try to r-relax...I know it's hard but you'll feel a LOT better after you d-do..."
The sitarist scooted back, allowing Riley room to look over his partner. He...probably should get going, but Demyx didn't want to leave until he was sure his friend was as comfortable as possible and would be okay...

Kaleb nodded a bit, but it was impossible to relax in that position since it made his entire body ache so badly. Luckily it didn't take too long for the painkillers to kick in, and the drowsy side effects.
The little mage was pretty worn out to begin with and the medication only compounded that effect, so he felt his eyes start to close and his head slowly drop before the pain started to fade. It would be rude to fall asleep right there though, so he tried to keep his head up until Riley decided to get him to bed to rest.

He smiled slightly when Kaleb started to droop. That was what he'd been waiting for. Straightening up he tried to figure out how he was going to get Kaleb to bed without dragging his wings across the floor. "Um ... Demyx? Think ya could help me carry him to bed?"
Maybe if Demyx made sure his wings stayed up it wouldn't hurt as bad. He could get his partner settled and then change his bandages before the pain killers wore off.

"S-sure..."
Nodding, Demyx walked back over to help with Kaleb. He'd wait until Riley started to pick the mage up before moving in to help. That way he could easily see what needed support to keep from dragging.
