((Welcome back ^_^))
He was thrown to the right by a large explosion. It was a geyser shooting out of the glass, but he wasn't sure how she'd done it yet. There were lot's of possibilities: super-heating water underneath the sparring area, rapidly changing water from a liquid/solid to a gas could possibly have made it explode as well. He stood up shakely, exhausted now from the previous matches. He reached down to draw his sword and felt something warm run down his left arm. She's cut me...he thought, slowly pulling out his katana. He dropped to one knee and tapped the hilt against the glass at his feet.
Somehow she knew where he was on the field, even though she couldn't see him. Maybe it was some form of supersonic pitch, like a bat. Whatever it was, he wouldn't be able to get close enough to her to throw her out of the ring. He'd be ripped to shreds by the geysers. His only chance was to do it from afar. One bright flash of blue lightning later, a steep slide made entirely of glass had formed at her feet. It was almost like a laundry chute in how it looked.

Piper listened to the firing and shattering of glass and felt a sudden change as she hit her heel against the ground to send another burst of water underground but by the time she'd caught it she'd already fallen and leaving the security of the defenses she'd built up on her side of the field. Everything was moving so fast she had trouble catching the outlines of where things were. She clawed at the glass trying to slow or even stop her rapid descent but it was only causing her fingers to become raw from the friction. In a final attempt to stop herself, she raised her left hand and pushed it down against the glass, there was a flash of light a popping sound as small glass pole came from the incline. She wrapped her right hand around it and brought herself to an abrupt halt. As she clung to the bar she noticed how tired she really was. She manage to pull herself up after much effort and sighed. She could sense the vibrations of the potassium explosions coming to an end and that she was no longer had the edge of her defenses. "I forfeit." she breathed, taking in everything around her now that she had stopped moving so fast.

He nodded and crossed the sparring grounds, holding his cut arm. "You did good..." he said, stopping a few steps from her. "One question though...how'd you know where i was?"

"So you know." She mused, although she was too suprised that he knew she was blind. She made no attempt to hide it, she read brail out in the open and made no attmpt to look in the direction that was indicated by others. "Well I've been blind for sometime now. My grandma taught me how to rely on sound and vibrations to get an idea of where everything is. There's actually a clicker I use to use when I was new to the whole not seeing thing. It sort of works like echo-location, sonar that sort of thing." she said as she stood up using the glass pole to lean on as she did so. Her eyes looked blankly around the grounds, "Sorry if I hurt you. Like I said I fight defensively, I don't like the idea of hurting people."

"You didn't hurt me too bad..." he said, hoping she couldn't hear his arm bleeding somehow. "I've been hurt worse, but right now i think we need to get back inside and rest up. I'm sure everyone's exhausted. Can you see your way down or do you want me to help?"
((OOC: Just to warn you guys, i'm not going to be on all day tomorrow, i'm spending the day with family then i have to close at work. I'll be on afterwards though, so expect me on around 8pst and 11est.))

"I'm sure I can manage." Piper said lowering herself slowly so that her hand could reach the glass. She tapped the surface and felt as the vibrations formed a better picture of the field. she stood back up and jumped to the side where the field was the most level and chose her steps as if she were playing hopskotch until she reached the solid ground again. She ran her fingers against her arms so she could feel the extent of the pain. She'd rest her hands in a bucket of ice water as she relaxed and perhaps it would her raw fingertips. She looked around blankly at everyone who still remained around the field, she could here airy breaths, and pulses that were still working on slowing down and she was just as tired as they were.

He nodded and followed, dropping to the grass and taking a few steps toward the dormitory building. "Let's all go inside and rest up, lessons start tomorrow." he said, loud enough for everyone to hear. "Everyone did a great job today..." He took a quick look at the reddening horizon reflecting off the glass sparring field and started toward the dorms again.
((OOC: I'm wakind up early tomorrow so i'm going to bed. Go ahead and continue if you like ^_^ Hope everyone has a good night.))

Iris had watched their battle with great excitement. They both seemed to be extremely talented. She was not surprised by Shtona's display for she knew he was incredibly capable, but Piper's display of alchemy had absolutely amazed her.
She has such amazing skills... and knowledge, thought Iris. She stood up and brushed herself up, wandering absentmindedly back into the building.

Piper picked the books back up that she had set aside and carried them with her as she headed back to the dorm. The thought of reaching her dorm room for a nap appealed to her greatly but she figured she'd rest in the common room for a while and run over her notes and see where she went wrong in her stratedgy. She entered the doors to the dorm building and headed up to the common room. Setting her books and notes down in one of the armchairs she went into th e kitchen and got a bowl of ice water and brought it out with her, she set it down on the coffee table and rested one hand in the dish while the other hand carefully ran through her original plans as well as back-up plans.

Shtona sat behind his desk reading through some paperwork. He'd patched his wounds the minute he'd walked in the door; he knew how dangerous a neglected open wound could be. He'd also changed out of his ripped clothes. The pants he'd been wearing had been ripped several times, but amazingly he wasn't cut. The shirt was worse off, with two large rips and more holes than he felt like counting. He easily could've fixed them alchemically, but he was too wiped from the sparring matches that day. It was all he could do to keep his eyes open and focusing on the sheet of paper in front of him.

Iris was remarkably tired. However, this did nothing to prevent her from going upstairs and taking a shower.
The warm water soothed her, and after washing she donned a simple white sleeveless dress. She found her purple jacket and slipped it on. She then found her way to the common room to relax and perhaps read a book or two.

Piper dried off her left hand switched off now putting her right hand in the ice water and her right hand continued reading through the plans as she thought. Her attention shifted as an outline entered the room, and from the subltness of her surroundings she was quick to figure out who it was. "Hello Iris, tough day today, wasn't it?" She asked lightly.

"Oh yes," Iris replied honestly. "I've never used alchemy to that extent before. At home, I would just experiment every now and then in the garden."
She picked a chair and sat down in it, pulling a book out of one of the enormous pockets of her jacket.

"Really, so you're still rather new to using alchemy, then." She said simply. Her right hand was already becoming numb from the water and for that she was thankful, for now she couldn't feel how sore her fingertips were. She closed the book and started scribbling down notes with her still free hand.
