"Nothing's been here recently," Curtis commented after sniffing around and also coming up with nothing. "We'll go to the river. A lot of animals visit it quite frequently."

Kat nodded and walked beside Curtis as they made their way to the river. She tried to keep an ear open for any sign of animals. She frowned once they reached the river. She stopped and shuddered. She did not have fond memories of rivers. Her last experience had been cold and frightening.

Jeff suddenly realized something, "...My shirt...I...she took...my shirt..." He mumbled into Yakovs chest.

Luka somehow managed to not succumb to rage as she drove back to the parking lot. "An, emotional break down, a rescue mission, and a psychological beat down...I'm not exactly up for anything else."

Yakov had to avoid the urge to crush Jeff in his joy that he had spoken. "Don't worry about it gorgeous. You're back with me now and that's all that matters."

Jeff laughed softly but it turned into a cough and he turned shakily away from Yakov, not wanting to get Yakov covered in his nasty coughingness.

"Some deer were here not long ago," he told her. "Do you fancy venison tonight?"

Luka hand the keys to Yakov. "Lock and then return." She hopped out of the truck and met Connor on the other side of the car. "They need some time." She took a few steps in the direction of school and then turned and held out her hand to Connor.

Yakov took the keys and immediately turned his attention back to Jeff. "Jeff..." He put a hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay, do you need something."

Kat came back to herself quickly. She tore her eyes from the river and looked over at Curtis slowly registering his question. "Uh...well...it's not like I get to eat it but, I can give drinking from them a try. Just as long as they are away from the river."

Yakov suddenly had the urge to hug Jeff hard, so he did. "I was so scared. I didn't... I couldn't... What if she... I didn't know... And you... I just." A tear rolled down his cheek. It was as if Jeff regaining some control had given him permission to let go.

Jeff whined slightly as he held Yakov gently stoking his back. Oh how the tables had turned. Jeff stroked Yakovs back, "I promise...not to let her take me again..." And then I sudden thought popped into his mind.
"Yakov, I have no control when I am around her. And she is your ex...did you...I mean...well..." He wasn't sure how to ask this of him.
