Michael stirred out of the stupor that was caused by reading so many depressing articles, including one from that awful tabloid reporter Anita Skeeter, who had just as much venom as her mother. Currently. she was insisting that Professor Longbottom had run away from Hogwarts and planted the story of disappearance so he could regain some of the fame that he had lost after the defeat of Voldemort. "Ah, right." He folded up the paper and stood, waving at the babies in that silly sort of Grandpa way. "Hello sweethearts, would you like some Chocolate Frogs?"

"They can't have solid food for months, Michael," answered Evelyn sharply, before her dormant sense of humor stirred. She smiled slightly, and it felt a little bit forced. "Oh. Right."

Michael chuckled as he patted his wife on the shoulder. "I know that. I was going to melt them and make chocolate milk." He smiled and looked to his son. "Are you coming home with us?" Knowing his son, it was likely that he would try to scarper off and go to work. But knowing his daughter in law, she would try to stop him.

"Well that's just sick." Desiree threw the Prophet to the floor, looking very cross. She was seated on the corner of Ray's bed, still in her pyjamas. "They say Professor Longbottom off and scarpered just for the publicity. Can you believe that?"

"No." Ray frowned. "Not a word of it. And if anyone's got any sense, they won't believe it either." Professor Longbottom had been one of his favorite professors, and certainly not the type to care about publicity. "The Prophet's always full of rubbish these days."

"He warned us about this." Desiree pouted, flopping backwards on the bed and staring up at Ray's ceiling. "Remember in Herbology right before Christmas? He told us that the same things had started happening right before things with Voldemort got really bad. Lies and disappearances all over. Now it's happening again."

"But it's harder now. We don't have a 'Chosen One' this time around. Seems like Draco learned from Voldemort's mistakes." Ray sighed. "I don't know what we can do..."

Desiree didn't like the concept of there not being anyone who could really stand up to the darkness this time around. "Why don't they just band together all the survivors from the last war? Professor Longbottom mentioned something about the Order of the Phoenix and Dumbledore's Army and how they all worked to fight Voldemort off. And he was part of Dumbledore's Army, so we know that there are survivors."

Ray thought for a moment. "I think that they probably would have already done so, if it were possible. Unless..." He remembered being tested on this in 2nd year. "Dumbledore's Army was school kids...what if we started another?"

"Us?" Desiree stared at him for a moment, her mind barely comprehending the notion. "But the two of us can't start some underground resistance, especially now that we're not even at school." She thought on it a moment, a part of her not wanting to abandon the idea so soon. "We would need a meeting place."

"We can find a place. Make it Unplottable. We're not confined to school campus, and that gives us a lot of opportunities." Ray slid off the bed. "We could make it more or less anywhere."

"I suppose...but it would need to be close enough for people to get to..." Desiree thought about the best possible locations. "Somewhere in Hogsmeade? Shrieking Shack perhaps?"

"Maybe. Maybe...what if we changed it? Every week or so?" Ray began pacing. "We'd first need to write a note to everyone, to meet up someplace--the Shrieking Shack. And then give out..." He looked up. "What was it the D.A. used for communication?"

"Galleons." If there was one tangent of Professor Longbottom's that she enjoyed, it was the one where he went into discussions about his secret life during Hogwarts as a soldier or sorts. "Hermione Granger charmed them to send messages whenever there was a meeting."
