You would TOWER over Rika MM. She's smaller than I am!

But she rocks hard with the bass.

i think that anime conventions are the best way for bands from japan to show themselves because those that like anime will be more open to jrock influence. We dont need a reapeat of what happened to pierrot when they opened for marilyn manson. The anime venues are a great way to spread the word. Several months ago, i was the only one who liked jrock, and even my friends made fun of me. Now my most skeptical friend worships hide, and people come up to me at school and are like hey thats mana on your shirt... it may pervert the image of jrock, but the fact is although it is growing exponetially. the fan base for jrock is not nearly enough for a real concert. the safest way to ensure a jrock surge is to take baby steps, and our step right now is to invite bands to play at cons.

That Manson concert was in Japan. The Japanese themselves were the ones booing the ******** outta Pierrot. Just goes to reassure the fact that not everyone likes these prettyboy bands. There have been many bands that have skipped out on anime conventions because it just doesn't suit them and just played shows, either opening for other bands or just doing it on their own. And they HAVE had great success. Of course, if we're talking about visual bands, then I guess it makes a little bit of sense for them to play at anime conventions since... well... the only way a visual kei band is going to get any type of positive reception over here is if they do fan-service in front of tons of rabid anime fans.
