Laurie closed her eyes for a moment, scanning her mind. "It might be because I was around someone who died yesterday."

spike put his nose right on her chest and sniffed deeply "yes now that I smell it closer it does not smell fresh" he said and nodded "can you help me find my way some where more human please I am not liking this place very much"

Laurie nodded. "Yes, of course. I'm on way back to the ranch anyway, would you like to join me?"

"love to lady Laurie" he said and held his arm out for her to take

Laurie did take his arm and smiled. "There is one thing we must do first," She said. "my horse, I left him at the edge of the city of Mare."

"ok but I have a feeling that what I saw last night was your horse being drained of blood by vampires but I hope not" he said and smiled at her "but lead the way Lady Laurie"

Laurie's eyes widened. She hadn't thought to be sure that he was safe, they had never stayed overnight in the vampire city and had never had this problem.

"well you know I can take on any form even dead beings I have to be near it though" he said to her and smiled

Laurie smiled slightly. "I don't know where he is now." She said.

he smiled and nodded "well how about this will you be able to work with this" he said and poofed into a good sized gedling (I hope I spelled it right) then bowed for her to get on him

Laurie smiled and climbed onto his back. "I think this will work."

"ok I will go now point the way Laurie" he said and pawed the ground

Laurie nodded and pointed to a path a few feet away. "Just follow the dirt road for a few miles."

"yeah ok let me know if I am going to fast for you" he said and galloped off toward the dirt road when he got on it he stoped "which way laurie"
