The Murder Masquerade Theme
This is what I was thinking:
Since it is called a Ball, I wanted to suggest something a bit classic, and was kind of like a mystery. It’d be like, the main ball host is looking for a venue for this year’s ball, and they get suggested this historic castle, that was home of this famous Gaian Ruler who was murdered, and the murderer was never found. The host visits the castle with a few other planners, and they take a tour and stuff, and one of them comes across a will in a chest that the manor keeper had never seen before. The manor keeper claims he’s a descendant and stuff….it goes on to the night of the ball, and they decided to do a classic masquerade (maybe) ball type theme, and on the grand steps in the grand ball room, the manor keeper goes hysterical, ends up being the unsettled ghost of the murdered king, and he sends everyone there into the past, during the ball of his 49th birthday, where he was murdered. He tells the guests to find out who killed him, or he shall SMITE (lmao) and reap the souls of the guests.
Hosts play the sons and daughters of the King, the queen, king's mistresses and advisors maybe, cohosts maybe servants, maids in waiting, knights, guards, and so on, and I was thinking the closest or the child whom was wronged to be the murderer, blah blah blah
I thought it’d be pretty sweet. Contests could center around it, an we could come up with riddles and clues to help solve the murder
And stuff >< That's a really good idea, but how would we divide it up into rooms? The Dungeon? The Ball room? The Grounds? The Garden? The Library? The great hall? and such? Yes, I was thinking of dividing the rooms like that, the Ball room being the main, and we'd have various rooms of the castle...and certain npcs will be in each room, but still able to roam around each of the other rooms...we'd have to have major plot planning, but I'm sure we can get it all sorted out, we can include side situations that would ultimately lead up to the murder and would keep the guests entertained and involved in the ball. I can see it working well. ^w^

I think it would be interesting to keep a Mythology theme, and maybe try Norse next year. I would help write it certainly, if not many people are well-read on Norse myth.

[I had fun this year hosting as Hermes.
And if my idea happens to be the one
I'm shure we all will love what role we are.
Okay
Here it goes...
Timetravel!
Going back to certain times that meant the most.
Like a Washington D.C. in year 3000 maybe.
The 70's with Woodstock.
The 50's at a burger/malt shop joint.
The 90's in Los Angeles with all the new rockstars.
The 80's in New Orleans with all the jazz wizzes.
Or maybe a Midevil room
Or an Italian Renaissance (which goes along with the whole Shakespeare idea)
Maybe like the 1400's with all the pirates and the people sailing over to America on the MayFlower and meeting the Indians
Or the 1800's with the Wild West and settlers moving out all across the land (Which includes the Luis & Clark expedition and the Civil War)
There are just so many ways you can have the rooms go
Of course though, there couldn't be THAT many rooms.
So it would have to be narrowed down.
But I do like that idea
Which came to me while roleplaying/hosting as Hermes
And watching Grease, both on the night of the 2nd Day

Amp Zaphrix I think it would be interesting to keep a Mythology theme, and maybe try Norse next year. I would help write it certainly, if not many people are well-read on Norse myth. I think Norse mythology would be a great idea, or Egyptian.

Din the Oracle of Seasons
Din's talent is dancing
Nayru the Oracle of Ages
Nayru's talent is singing
And let us not forget...
Farore the Oracle of Courage and Secrets
She helped create the Land of Hyrule
And during the games, helped guide Link along his journey with secrets.

Lolz!<3] lol. the time travel kind of reminds me of a super nintendo entertainment system (snes) game i play called chrono trigger, where you play as a boy named chrono and after some pretty wierd circumstances, including going to the past and finding its kidnapped queen, going to prison in your own time because they thought you ran off with the princess who chrono inevitably falls in love with, and going to the future and then finding out how the world ends (destroyed by a giant fireball creature named lavos) you defeat him and SAVE THE WORLD FROM UTTER DESTRUCTION! @cakes: ZELDA FAN! *glomps* do you know there coming out skyward sword in 2011? and i call princess zelda, midna from twilight princess, or navi from ocarina of time!

(i know its long, but hey, i missed a whole night.) about the nitendo thing well maybe we could select some character that will be the host and that the other character will be the guest. host: like bowser and some of the characters from the bad guy gang= the mean person. some princess(peach, rosalinda,daisy,ect.)= hostage. some good guys like mario, luigi,zelda, ect,= good guys. and the rest will be the guest. (this is an option) nitendo+anime we could add any animate disney,anime or whatever and the nitendo characters.
