Nyx returned her blastoise and charizard to their pokeballs after the door was breached, leaving only her mew draped over her shoulders. She nodded to Deimos, out of habit, when he handed her new laser-dex back to her. That would be something to look at... and also probably good for heating up ramen. "Good... now lets hope there is some way out this way."

That was creepy. Really creepy. He did not like the blue-haired one. Seemed like Claire didn't either; standing as close to her as he was he could see the slight tremor in her hands. He didn't get it. Sure the Galactic wench was creepy, but creepy enough to rattle her like that? Maybe it had nothing to do with the winner of the Miss Serial Killer Smile award, maybe she was frightened about being stuck down here. He didn't know. He didn't know anything about her really. Her name wasn't Claire, and she had hazel eyes.
As Faleen approached with their dexes Aulus gave a nod of thanks and took both his and Claire's, putting his own away and handing the winner of the Miss Enigmatic award hers... He really hadn't needed to take hers for her. She was quite capable of taking her own dex. What was wrong with him today? Maybe he was just feeling so out of his depth he was trying to compensate by being protective of somebody else. He really had no idea.

And just like that, it was gone. Tethys' ink-black eyes focused on Deimos and lost their immolating glow, replaced by the dull glaze of someone who is being elbowed in the ribs while given an odious task.
"... Perhaps this task is better suited to Orion, sir."
She watched the laser slice through the weakened metal now like paper apparently unperturbed by the hostile feelings coming from half the group.
At the back, the Volcarona fluttered its wings and herded them into the newly accessible area.

TRP took the lead as they exited the cavern, stepping over the nubby remains of the bars. Around the next corner the mining operation the two ghosts had first seen came into view. It was large and dimly lit with flickering orange lights. In some areas the lights had burnt out, plunging sections of the labyrinth-like tunnels into darkness.
Straight ahead, mine tracks stretched over a deep pit, the bottom obscured by inky black. A worn path followed the edge of the pit.
Perhaps more interesting than the large mine, was the fact it was completely deserted. The electricity was still on, but nobody seemed to be around.
"Strange.."

This was nearly as creepy as blue-hair; if video games had taught him anything it was that abandoned places that still seemed to have power were Bad News, especially when the lights flickered. "Over the tracks, or around the edge?" Aulus wondered aloud; he didn't like the look of that pit at all but there didn't seem to be any other way to go. He couldn't shake the feeling that as soon as somebody approached it, a huge monster would spring up and swallow them whole. He hoped blue-hair went first.

Not to pleased about the condition of her Rocket Dex, that she's usually so careful with, and regular with its up keep, She wanted to check and see what functions had been negatively affected, but now wasn't the time. The group was moving forward, So Faleen, with Umbreon at her side, and Banette over her head walked back over to Nyx,
"I'm quite for that idea" she chimed in to Nyx's comment "Banette, continue scout." She told the ghost, who once again blinked out of sight to drift ahead.
As she stepped though, Faleen took a look around the aria, namely at the wiring and the lights that seemed to still have power running to them. furrowing her brow she took a moment to observe this before her eyes caught the tracks over the black drop.
"I've never heard of mining being done in these mountains before..." and for what exactly? something that clearly needed to be protected with such heavy doors.

She took the 'dex with a mumbled thanks - she didn't care who handed it to her, and didn't seem to notice either way - and slipped it back into her pocket without bothering to check it. A pokeball was raised again to recall Alexina yet again, and she followed the ground into the next part of the cave while sticking close to Aulus.
The flickering lights - the ones that actually worked, anyway - were almost completely ignored. The abandoned mine wasn't anywhere near as creepy as Tethys, and it actually helped calm her nerves to concentrate on that and how to get through it instead of the ominous staring she'd been treated to. Around the edge of the abyss sounded like a much more pleasant option.

A great, black pit, strangely illuminated by a rusty lighting system. Lovelier and lovelier. The place appeared to be in as much disrepair as the rest of the cave, and the prospect, voiced by Aulus, that they would be crossing either of it seemed risky at best - more like suicidal.
"Do we have enough capable pokemon to cross via flight?" she suggested, a finger tracing a path on her Metagross's pokeball. "Given the condition of the rest of this place, I'm not sure I would trust any of this to hold us for long..." Murphy's Law was a wretched one.

As they spoke, the pool of light they were standing in flickered and went out.

Once again the light from Umbreon was supporting the aria around her as the stone around become considerably darker. Faleen turned her hazel eyes upward to the light that had gone out.
It was the scream that caused Faleen to jump, startled, and she jerked her head around "Oh for goodness sake," Was there nothing this man wasn't frighted of.

Damn the cavern. Damn the stupid, crumbly little cavern all broken to bits. Damn the helicopter for crashing into such a stupid, crumbly little cavern all broken to bits. Damn Galactic for attacking their helicopter and causing it to crash into such a stupid, crumbly little cavern all broken to bits. Damn Murphy and every word he had ever spoken. Damn his mother too, because she had surely encouraged him.
Through sheer willpower, Aila managed to keep all of this frustration internal, though the darkness would obscure fists clenched in irritation. This willpower would be further tested as a little girl - or someone possessing the spirit of one - shrieked at the sudden shadows that swallowed them up.
She had a Flash TM in her room. Someone was going to be learning that when they returned to the base.

A third person sighed in an extremely frustrated manner.
Zeus' cheeks started to spark again, emitting a soft glow.
