Mirai continued fighting off their enemies, her gaze suddenly shifting over to Melanie's direction as she saw her go down. "Melanie!" she shouted but then felt something sharp graze her arm. She quickly turned and slammed her fist into the attacker's head, blasting him backwards. "Damn it..." she muttered under her breath as she went back to trying to focus on the wave of masked attackers. She managed to hear Schifo then as he gave orders and her gaze shifted towards April. She jumped up and ran on top of several heads, knocking those specific people over before making it close enough to protect April.

[[Okay, so obviously you guys can't use your full powers without revealing yourselves, so in order to maintain cover read the following:
- You can all use physical attacks at full strength and take lots of damage without going down just like you normally would since Machinists have augments for those that can match most non-humans.
- Mirai can use limited telekinetic attacks/abilities since they know she's anti-witch and that's a reasonable anti-witch augment to have. No healing or teleportation though.
- Melanie is presumed to be a medic so she'll have to stick to physical attacks only though she can manifest her knife form if she can do it individually and not as part of her body or in place of her human body
- Texas can use fire-based abilities as those are possible with augmentations
- Lily is known to be a Kitsune so she doesn't have to hold back at all
- Despair is a Royal Guardsmen so his augments are assumed to be cutting edge and top secret, so he can get away with almost anything short of full teleportation or massive explosions

Although Cassie and Lily had taken down most of the rocket-wielding madmen, the flood was still coming and it didn't seem to be slowing at all. The team was taking down countless enemies but it seemed more and more continued to pour over the ridge. "This is hopeless," Captain Schifo muttered angrily. Lieutenant May turned to look at Despair when he heard him speak. "I am, and I can hold my own Guardsman," he replied, somewhat defensively. Unlike the more submissive, compliant Lieutenant the group met back at the refugee camp, the Lieutenant seemed more calm and confident now that he was on the battlefield. "I didn't want to use this right off the bat but..." Captain Shifo said as beheaded another attacker before turning briefly to look at the others. "We're going to do a chain attack!" He yelled. "Get ready! Officers, standard formation! Roland, you come up next! Then Lily, Mary and Schwartz! Go!" Texas blinked in surprise as he heard Captain Schifo's orders. Chain attack? What the heck was he talking about? The group would soon find out. Captain Schifo raised his sword. "Murder Gear! GO!" The edge of Captain Schifo's blade glowed a bright green before there were several flashes of light. Once the lights faded, the DWMA Team would be able to see what looked like bright green gears floating in the air above them. The major difference was that where normal gears had flat teeth these had razor sharp ones. No sooner had they manifested themselves than they began turning, their slow whirring quickly changing to a high pitched buzz before they shot downwards rapidly ripping across the battlefield at about chest height. They moved erratically, ripping through opponents with every moment, sending limbs and sprays of blood in all directions. As soon as this attack had begun Lieutenant May raised his sword high in the air. "Accelerate Slaughter! GO!" Lieutenant May yelled. His entire body began to glow with a bright red tinge and his very form became somewhat hazy. In the next instant he shot forward, more of a blur than a man. Each swing of his sword cut through three or four opponents as he moved through the battlefield like a scythe through wheat. Although the Lieutenant was weaker than his Captain, Lieutenant May's attack seemed to be drawing more resonance force than Captain Schifo's and upon closer inspection it seemed that the Lieutenant and the Murder Grears were working in tandem, criss-crossing the battlefield in blurs of red and green.
Cassie was up next. "Final Shot! GO!" She yelled, holding her gun straight up in the air. The long pink stripe on the massive revolver lit up brightly before she lowered it again, pointing it towards the general battlefield. When she pulled the trigger, this time instead of a single shot a huge, steady beam of pink energy roared forth and bore into the crowd of enemies incinerating everyone it touched. She swept it across the battlefield, burning enemies like a magnifying glass on ants. Strangely, her attack seemed stronger than Lieutenant May's, giving off even more powerful resonance force. April May staggered her legs and raised both hands in the air. "Red Rain! GO!" She yelled. There was a moment's delay as an icy mist gathered around April, then suddenly the mist exploded upwards into the sky coalescing into hundreds of solid spikes of freezing ice. April May brought her hand down and the spikes came down with it, whistling down from the sky onto the heads of the enemy cutting them down by the dozens and then the hundreds. This last attack was the most powerful of all so far and the damage it wreaked upon the enemy was tremendous. Texas had been watching these attacks in rapid succession and had finally put together what it was all about. It was simple, really. They were chaining their attacks together using resonance force. Not only that, but each attack seemed to build up on the next one which accounted for the strength increase with each attack. He had to hand it to The Machinists: they were pretty innovative. The more time he spent with them, the clearer it became how they had grown from a small band of refugees into the elite fighting force that Mirai had described in the future. And now apparently it was his turn to continue the chain. He was supposed to link an attack with them. He couldn't chain resonate with them but since they couldn't sense things like that he could pretend to. He thought quickly, knowing he only had a few seconds to "continue" the chain. "Raging Inferno! GO!" He yelled, quickly thinking of a name as he released a blastwave of flames that spread out in all directions, blazing through the countless enemies that surrounded them. The Machinists had built up quite a bit of power in their chain and he had to push himself to create a stronger attack. Now all he could do was hope the others had picked up on what was happening and follow suit.
Lily continued her assault, aiming to try and just knock out all her opponents...unlike everyone else from the machinist group. soon she would start to hear the commanders speaking up calling about a chain attack "the hell..aren't chain attacks good for single opponents?" she thought to herself as soon she would hear her name being mentioned in the list, was it like a test to see their power? or were they really doing this. she would sigh as she would watch Texas do his move, calling out a name for his attack, lily wasn't going to, luckily for her since she was a kitsune they wouldn't think she had anything special but her normal powers. when Texas attacked it would be lily's turn. she faced the enemy after Texas her tails moving on their own still, Planting her foot into the ground in front of her a shock wave would be sent forward, what followed the shock wave was the ground instantly freezing causing anyone who was touching it to have what body part touching the ground frozen to it. thanks to her form she was able to do a lot more with her powers including increased ways of using them. as the freezing took place it would begin to spread up the bodies of everyone affected, and as this was happening her free hand began to glow as she cupped it to look like she was holding an orb, as it glowed an orb would appear glowing white it would grow brighter and in size, when it was a good size she would force it into the ground beneath her causing another shock wave but a stronger one than the first the wave was visible this time and was bigger and stronger, it would move quickly to those whom were frozen hitting them hard either knocking them out or knocking them down to the point where the freezing would continue faster.
+ Weapon Creation: she can create weapons she owns(puts them in a sort of collection only to pull them out when needed) in total she only has the blood blade + Elemental force: she can harness 4 elements with the help of her sword Fire,Water, ice, and Air + Nine Tailed form: an extra form that She can tap into, she hasn't perfected it yet so she cant keep it up for long, but her abilities are much stronger making her a force to be reckoned with. she is able to manipulate her tails to the point to being able to grab things and attack with them as well as defend. + Enhanced speed + Anti-Madness manipulation: much like Madness it can take its own form, but because she has this she is immune to madness, she can take damage from attacks from madness but she can't be infected, this element is strong against madness users and Black blood users for some reason, she can also add it to her own weapons or limbs, +(unknown) +(unknown) +(unknown)

Mirai watched as the Machnists unleashed their chain attacks. One after another. It was quite impressive. Once Texas and then Lily launched their attacks, it was Mirai's turn. She stood there quietly for a moment as she built up enough energy before the armor from her soul mold ability began to glow. She raised her arms in the air then and locked her hands together "Shock Wave! Go!" she stated before slammed her hands into the ground. A violet orb of telekinetic energy appeared around her before stretching outwards, slamming into enemies around her with the speed and power of a freight train. A crater ended up around Mirai along with several body parts from the very unfortunate people that were right by her when her ability went off.

Hearing Lieutenant May, Despair would let out a little laugh, "Is that so? Well, lets hope you truly can hold your own." he teased as he managed to successfully fight off the massive horde that had surrounded him. As soon as he did, however, Despair would hear Captain Schifo as the man began yelling out orders, telling them that they were going to initiate a chain attack. At first, Despair had no intentions of joining in on their little attacks, but as he saw how powerful the attacks became as they were chained together, he changed his mind on the spot. It looked like fun and of course, if it seemed like fun to him, Despair would be down for it, Watching as both Texas and Lily contributed to the attack, Despair smiled, as he and Mary would be the lat ones. Though, he debated on whether or not to reveal more of his powers to the Machinists, Despair would eventually agree to the chain attack. So, as Mary released her attack, he would end the chain with a very showy one, just to make it look better. "Uh...." Despair was drawing a blank on what to call this attack. Was it because he was stressed? Could he not perform under these circumstances? Man this was really embarrassing for, especially since the ladies were around. "Bright Light! Go!" Meh, a name was a name. With the accumulated resonance force from all the previous attacks, joining up with his own, already powerful one, Despair would condense the energy into a small orb, grasping it in the palm of his hands. Once enough force had built up, Despair then opened up his hands, releasing all of the stored up energy, outwards in the form of a blinding gold light. The light would blind and instantly knock out all who was caught up in it, well all except for Despair and those he considered "allies" so, the machinist and DWMA students were safe. However, the vast amount of enemies that had surrounded them, weren't. Each and everyone of them would lose sight in their eyes and then be knocked out by the force of the energy.

As the DWMA students chained their attacks to The Machinists, the effect was devastating. Countless howling enemies were wiped out or knocked unconscious by the various attacks until they ran their course. Once they were over, silence cloaked the once chaotic battlefield. Captain Schifo took a deep breath and then looked around the battlefield before looking back at the pilot who was still by their craft. "Can you get it to work anytime in the very near future?" He asked the pilot. The pilot shook his head. "I can get it limping, but if we take off into the sky we'll be shot down right away." Captain Schifo sighed. "Well we can't hold this position for too much longer," he told him. "We need to move before they send someone - or something - worse." The pilot looked over toward the ruins of an old factory. "I can fly it in there. I'll be hidden from view and I can work on it safely. Hopefully. You can take your men and continue your mission." Captain Schifo thought for a moment before nodding. "That'll have to do. Once you get it fully fixed do you think you can get us out of here?" The pilot paused. "There's....a small chance. The more of those anti-aircraft guns you take down, the better. And that AA-Sniper will have to go before we can." Captain Schifo frowned in thought. "We don't have time to go around taking out all the AA guns. We'll just have t-" He paused as there was an explosion in the distance, turning around to face the direction it came from. In the distance was a ruined tower leaning dangerously to one side. Smoke rose from a hole in the side before the floor directly beneath the hole collapsed and a ruined AA-gun complete with dead crew fell out of the side and 20 stories down to the ground. The crunch of metal when the AA-gun hit the ground was audible even from this distance. "What in the...?" Captain Schifo asked no one in particular. "Do you think it's the other team?" Lieutenant May asked hopefully. Captain Schifo shook his head. "It's way off course from where they must have landed, and Captain Cross would know better than to chase down AA-guns when we have a more important objective." Lieutenant May looked back at Captain Schifo. "Someone else then?""No doubt.""Who?""Don't know and don't care to know. As long as they stick to blowing up AA guns I'm happy to let them have at it." Captain Schifo nodded to the pilot who hopped into the cockpit of his craft and started it up, taking off after several minutes of preparation and heading towards the factory keeping the craft as low to the ground as possible. Once he reached the factory he elevated the craft slightly, flew over the building and then lowered it in through a hole in the roof, disappearing from view. After several more minutes the whirring sound of the rotors stopped and the craft was effectively out of sight.
Captain Schifo reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a compass. "The Library is Northwest of this position. We need to move. If there are survivors from the second team they'll be doing the same thing." He put his compass away and turned back to the group. "That was the easy part. They know we're here now, and they know we're elite. They'll be sending their best after us, whoever those may be. On top of that we apparently have a third party running around, so be on the lookout for them too. Once we reach the Library we regroup and reassess our situation."
[[I was planning to use this post to introduce a new game mechanic, but since it's so late I'll leave that for the next post. Get ready! wink ]]
Lily just looked at Schifo as he told them they needed to move, it would be at this point her heart would return to its normal rate and this would allow her to return to her normal look. she looked around seeing what each person did then looked at the compass that he pulled out stating they needed to go northwest, she didnt have a way with directions since she never used a compass. as she would wait for everyone to start moving before she would move in the direction, perhaps each needed to regroup to listen or if there was a plan to get there.

Mirai took a deep breath after the chain attack was done. She quietly listened to Schifo talk with the pilot while observing everything around her. She heard and explosion then and looked over as someone or something took out a AA-gun and its crew. She frowned slightly as she wondered what was going on before hearing Schifo talk about moving on with their objective. She glanced towards the dead enemies, thinking about Starla and Melanie before looking at Schifo again "Okay! Let's get going then!" she said with an eager tone.

As the chain attack ended, Despair would be seen standing with his hands glowing a feint golden color. This would be the first time he had openly shown a hint of his demonic or rather, "augmented" abilities to the Machinists. Shaking his hands, Despair released little flickers of energy, as he focused back on Schifo. Clearly things weren't going as smoothly as the Captain had planned, not only was their aircraft temporarily down, the enemy now know the extent of their powers and will be sending stronger forces, not to mention an unknown third group lurking around. All in all, things were going from bad to worse, as time passed. "Aye, aye, Captain." Despair stated before smiling and seemingly appearing a little too relaxed.
[Okay guys! Things are going to get slightly tougher from here on out. All of you are going to be presented with situations that arise where in order to resolve the situation you'll need to use your powers. However, doing so will raise suspicion among your Machinists teammates. As you can see on the top right of the post, you have ten levels of suspicion with the 10th being The Machinists discovering your identities. When a situation arises in which you will have to use your powers, I'll tell you in the post and let you know how many suspicion points you will gain by doing so. Alternatively, you can choose NOT to intervene in the situation This will prevent you from gaining any suspicion points, but it will most likely result in a negative outcome for one of The Machinists or complications in the mission.]

The group traveled through the wreckage of the Mobile Headquarters for about twenty minutes. Captain Schifo occasionally checked his compass as they walked, redirecting them slightly when they went off course. Several times throughout their walk there were muffled explosions in the distance and columns of smoke rose from their direction. "Looks like our third party is having quite a bit of fun," Captain Schifo muttered as he watched one of the columns of smoke. Soon the Library loomed in front of them, ominous even among the wreckage. As they approached the group could hear a strange grinding, metal sound. "What now?" April May asked as they approached the entrance to the massive Library. Her question was answered all too soon as what had appeared to be a massive pile of rubble shifted before them. A massive figure rose up out of it:
Captain Schifo grimaced. "A guardian!" The red lights on the machine glowed ominously. Instead of drawing his sword, Captain Schifo held up his hand. "Captain Aaron Schifo! Order! Stand down!" The robot looked down at Schifo as if considering his words before raising the huge rifle in its left hand and leveling it directly at him. "Wha-!?" It seemed that for whatever reason the robot was not responding to his commands. In a mere second the laser warmed and fired point blank at Captain Schifo. Even with their speed and agility, a regular Machinist couldn't dodge something that fast at such close range.
Decision:
1. Intervene to save Captain Schifo's life by moving him out of the way Adds 1 Suspicion Point
2. Allow Captian Schifo to receive the direct shot from the robot. Adds 0 Suspicion Points

Mirai followed behind the others, glancing around quietly. Eventually her gaze shifted to the giant metal figure that stood in front of them. She was expecting Schifo to attack if but he didn't. Suddenly the guardian pointed the rifle at Schifo and Mirai acted without thinking. Her time manipulation ability activated. Time froze around her and she ran head on at Schifo. Less than a second before hitting him, she stopped her ability and time moved again. Mirai ended up looking like she appeared out of nowhere to the side and tackled Schifo to the ground mere moments before he could be hit. Mirai was so close to getting hit herself that she felt the warmth from the shot on her back as it sped past her. "Damn me..." she thought to herself as she ended up on the ground. She scrambled up and looked at Schifo "Are you alright, Captain?" she asked, ignoring what she had just done.
Lily just followed them as the arrived at the library, she looked around her ears twitching from the sounds from everywhere of the fighting her eyes would move to the area the rubble shifted this made her get in a fighting stance as she could just sense the robot when it moved, oh course when she was told to stand down she seemed confused, was it their robot...that question was soon answered when it fired at them at the captain Lily was surprised by the speed of the attack, but she even got surprised by how fast mirai was able to save him ,whether it was a good idea to do that or not, that's another question.

Despair, along with what remained of the DWMA group, followed the others, with him bringing up the rear. While the wandered thorough the desolate place, the sounds of explosions and gunshots could be heard. It appeared as though that third group, was having a really good time, especially compared to what he and the others were doing right now. As the approached the library, a machine-like entity, that they called a Guardian, would appear and aim it's massive gun at them. Captain Schifo would try and have the robot stand down, but to his surprise, it wouldn't recognize his command and instead, fired a laser, point blank. Seeing this, Despair could have intervened and stopped the blast, effortlessly, but as he had a separate mission to uptake, getting rid of some of the Officers now, would save him a lot of headaches later on. However, Mirai seemed to have gone a little soft and used some strange ability to transport herself to Schifo's side and tackled him out of the way of the laser. Looking on at Mirai, Despair seemed a little disappointed in her. For all her talk, it would seem like she was the one most likely to reveal their identities, because of her reckless behavior and inability to keep her emotions in check.
One moment it seemed as if Captain Schifo was going to die, and the next it seemed as though he suddenly vanished, appearing in a different location. The robot fired and a red lance of light shot forth straight into the ground where Schifo had been standing less than a second before. All that remained of the ground below was blackened, scorched earth. "What the-!?" Captain Schifo exclaimed as he suddenly appeared laying on the ground. He looked at Mirai with a startled expression. "I'm...yeah, thanks," he replied, still clearly bewildered. If the machine before them was bewildered, it didn't let on. Instead it straightened up and raised its beam cannon again, this time pointing it at the group as a whole. Captain Schifo quickly scrambled to his feet. "I don't understand! I should have been able to override its protocol! I have the rank!" April May was already forming ice spikes. "Looks like we have to kill it now!" She yelled angrily. "Looks that way! Let's take it down!" Captain Schifo responded. "Lieutenant May, find cover and wait for my signal! Cassie aim for its joints! Everyone else attack at your own discretion! We need to bring that thing down! We can't have it following us into the Library!" Cassie backpedaled as she began focusing on the joints of the machine and April May shot dozens of ice spikes that peppered its armor. Lieutenant May reluctantly hid behind some rubble to wait for further orders. Captain Schifo and Texas moved in to attack the machine up close. The robot was not idle either. After a brief internal assessment, it pointed its beam cannon straight at Despair and opened fire sending a powerful, continuous stream of bright red energy straight for him.
