Amari - content that he had drunk enough water - risked a glance over at Maawio, his heart almost skipped a beat as he observed her relaxed figure. She was so beautiful, he had told her that a few times before but only in a flirtacious gesture. To tell her this from the heart was a little embarassing.
He shifted uncomfortably and backed up out of the water, sitting back on his rump. It was now or never.
"You're beautiful, do you know that?" He smiled softly, blinking his hazel eyes at her, and curling his tail about him.

She looked suprised. She had never heard that from anyone before...She stuttered. "Umm...Thankyou..." She blushed underneath her golden pelt as she cleared her throat slightly.
"I think you are really handsome." She said, feeling a little better that he had said something first. Her heart had a fluttering feeling to it, and she found it quite unusual.

Bakhti made her way down the tree and laid in the undergrowth behind them watching as the spoke. She yawned and laid her head on her paws trying not to think of the conversation she had heard them both having.

She looked so cute with that shy and embarassed look on her face and he moved over to her, a slight purr rumbling from his throat. "Your name suits you so well, you're fur is just so wonderful." His hazel eyes ran down her slender body, her well-toned muscles perfect due to hunting from a young age.
He was a little surprised by her compliment and couldn't help but feel a sudden shyness fall over him. He dipped his head a little pressing his face against her neck.
"Do you know when you'll return to your pride?"

She felt much warmer than usual, and licked him on his cheek quickly, her eyes looked sheepish, but at the same time glazed with a perfect happiness. She sighed. "I dont really know. I cant stay here for too long, but I am allowed to take strolls and such, as long as I dont tresspass." She blinked the sun out of her eyes before looking back to Amari and his lovely peltage.

"Ahh I see." He nodded slowly and sighed, everything was perfect, perhaps too perfect. The sun shone it's dappled and brilliant light over them, the water glittered with a mgaical essence and the birds twittered above their heads. "I'm half tempted to return with you..." He trailed off, glancing around the jungle.

She pressed her maw into his ear again. "You lead the life you want, Ill always be waiting for you, even if you never return to me." She said, feeling that that was quite embarassing and proceeding to blush. She cared for Amari, and what she said was true, she would never lose hope.

He trembled a little at the sudden closeness of her and his eyes half closed in a drowsy manner as he listened to her words. This little scene was so perfect, it was beautiful just as she was and he realised that he really had no reason to flirt with other lionesses when he had her by his side.
He moved to nuzzle at her gently, a continous purr flowing from slightly parted maw. "I...love you Maawio." He whispered, not realising what he had said until it was out in the open.
Part of him wanted to shy away but the more senstivie and loving part of him just couldn't allow him to do so. Even if this relationship could never work out he would not release the hope that he had wrapped around inside of him.

Maawios beautiful eyes had a sudden glimmer in them. What did he just say? She looked to him with the widest eyes that were possible. Her voice was full of purrs as she finally spoke.
This was the feeling inside then, the feeling in the pit of her stomach that made her feel as if she was flying, like she wanted to shout out...
She closed her eyes and opened them again, with a loving smile on her features. "I-i love you too..." She blinked shyly, feeling herself blush as she tried to keep herself from running. She simply looked into his eyes, still wearing that innocent shy look, yet kindness and happiness appeared in her sapphire eyes... She wanted Amari forever... Even if it didnt work out, she would still dream...

Amari felt a thickness build up in his throat, almost choking him from his nervousness. Once again he felt himself falling, becoming lost in those brilliant blue orbs she had for eyes. They sparkled with something he never thought he would ever see, and he closed his eyes briefly to try and break himself from their enchanting gaze only to open them a second later.
He wanted to be submerged in that look, he wanted to remember their vibrant colour for eternity. In them he saw a promise and a wonderful hope that matched his own.
Then when she spoke those words he heard nothing but his own breathing and the rush of blood through his ears. Had she really said that or was it just his imagination making him believe she had?
He swallowed, and tried to ease the fluttering in his stomach long enough to be able to speak, but what could he possibly say? How did someone respond to something as wonderful as this?
"You...you really mean that?" His voice was merely a whisper and rather husky. "I...I don't no what to say." He admitted a little shyly, letting his eyes fall onto the ground.

Bakhti watched tears filling her eyes. She was happy for them both but at the same time would she loose Amari to a pride? If he would be happy she didn't mind but the prospect of wandering alone again scared her. She hated being alone she really hated it. She suddenly stood up making alot of noise and turned away she was happy for them both she really was but..
She sighed she couldn't let them know she was scared of being left alone and had to be happy for them. Why did she always have to listen into other peoples conversaqtions?

Maawios eyes guided themselves to Amaris once more, she felt sick, but in a good way. She would never have thought that was possible. She let a small tear of happiness streak down her fur before leaning to Amari and giving him a soft lick on the maw. "Of course I mean it."
She felt so happy, as if she was trying to contain something within her, but really she just wanted to shout it out, although she wouldnt, she was too shy. Instead she kept her eyes on the wonderful figure that was Amari.

Ahh young love, wasn't it the most wonderful feeling in the whole world? Amari had flirted with many a lioness in his time but never ever had any young lady made him feel so wonderful...so whole! He continued his contented purr and leant against her touch.
"Perhaps...I'll walk you home." He said quietly, a grin playing on his features, he really didn't want to leave her now, how could he after such things had been said? But...there was Bakhti to consider...
As if on cue the bushes above them rattled and he tilted his head up a little, a sadness filling his heart. Bakhti needed him just as much as he needed Maawio. He turned saddened eyes to the golden femme and sighed, leaning forwards to press the side of his face against hers.
He lowered his voice and whispered in her ear. "Bakhti...she needs to be comforted, I'm not sure whether I can leave her alone just yet." He pulled away a little to glance at Maawio, ears drooping.

Her smile was a little saddened now, for Bahkti. Her eyes sudden filled with a realisation. "I have an idea. Ill go talk to Bahkti, you come also, Then we can say goodbye as we walk and talk nearer to the pridelands?." She said. She felt so whole now, and she tilted her head towards Bahkti, her smooth sweet voice piercing the humid air.
"Bahkti..." She called, her eyes portaying warm thoughts, as she tried to get them to Bahkti.

Amari nodded and leaning in to lick her on the cheek he moved to leap up onto the first of the stone platforms, craning his head up to see if Bakhti was still there. He opened his jaws and gave a rumbling roar in order to try and get her attention or call her back.
