I agree. 3nodding I wish I had known what I know now when I started collecting anime series. I could have saved alot of money. What really sucks is that just recently, producers have started using the slim DVD cases and the prices for the box sets have dropped by almost half. xd
Personally, I love watching anime with subtitles while in japanese and so I am happy buying imports as long as the subtitling quality is good. Some subtitles are really bad. If anyone has seen the import version of b*****d then you know exactly what I mean. My two main online stores I use (that have good quality subtitles 99.9% of the time) imports are:
SundevilDVD.com * The first store sells only imported DVDs 1 99% of merchandise is only DVD's 2 Product descriptions aren't very good 3 Fine for shopping for titles you know you want 4 only imported anime
DiscountAnimeDVD.com.*** 1 great prices 2 great overall selection (in imports, exports, and anime goods) 3 They have a huge selection of manga that is cheaper that any bookstore out there AND 4 Free shipping on $99 and up
I go to a store called SAS Fabric by-the-pound (located in Phoenix,AZ) that sells fabric by-the-foot as well as many other things you might need for my costume needs(Ex. lace, cording, ribbings, sew on or iron patches and sewing accessories)

I didn't read through this entire post, but if anyone lives near Anaheim/Buena Park in California, there is a place on La Palma just after Magnolia called Anime Nuts. they have a really big display at the Expo every year, or at least the last few years. ^^
