i was looking around in forums and such.. and i noticed that there are many different places to get anime and little trinkets and stuff... so i thought all of us being anime fans of some sort. I figured it'd be nice to help some people out by giving them places to get the best deals for not only anime and manga but maybe fabric for cosplay, little anime tokens such as plushies...etc. v And the fact that most of us live in southern california, it would be a lot easier to get to a place... hopefully... sweatdrop

Ok... i guess i'll go first...
near my house there's this warehouse that sells practically everything from trading cards... to anime to.. weird bizzarre stuff people use for voodoo... and swords and all that stuff... People rent a space and set up a little shop and there are gqute a few anime stores... and this has been by far one of my best places to get the latest anime and manga and the little trinkets that come in between.
The anime I buy there usually doesn't come in dubbed.. or else it'sd be really expensive but on rare occasion they do... but mainly it's subbed... ((just in case)) and you're able to buy a whole series or season ((26 episodes)) for $30 which i must say is a pretty good deal even if most are subs.. and some might be bad subs too.. xDD but whatevers...

For example... I went to AX and was hoping to buy Last Exile ((26 episodes subbed and dubbed)) it was about to cost me $106 but here it cost me $33 for the same amount of episodes ((subbed and dubbed))

well if any of you are interested this place is called Frank & Sons Collectibles... I'll put the address and I'm sure you people could just yahoo map it... if you guys want to go...

Wait, $33 for Complete Last Exile? It's gotta be an import. The one at AX for $106 was a domestic release.

I've been wanting to go to Frank & Sons Collectibles for a while now...

I buy all my anime online. I buy mostly imports, but some domestic ones too. For domestic though, I sometimes go to Best Buy.

Then again, you can always download you anime... ninja

Is there an all of the above choice? I get stuff on the web, and sometimes from my local comic store Amazing Comics reminds me I need to see if they got DearS in XD. And I get it from random places too, so i dunno but I like beign able to go to Amazing Comics cus you can see what you're buying and I can talk to the peopel there to see if they can get me what I'm after so yeah. I'll find the address later, it's in Long Beach though.

Downloading anime is wrong!!! scream Though I do it too... sweatdrop I use limewire. I don't download much anime at all though. I used to watch some anime on winamp tv but those ones disapeared. Winamp tv does have some streaming anime still but the connections are usually bad or full.

My favorite online store for all asian things would be YesAsia.com. I've never bought from them but they have pretty much everything I've ever searched for on there.

My favorite stores are:
Suncoast (in most malls): Anime, used anime, soundtracks, manga, plushies, wall scrolls, misc. collectibles.
Small Wonders (not sure on the name sweatdrop ) in Westminster Mall: Anime collectibles, plushies, wall scrolls...lotsa stuff. Haven't been there in a while so I don't remember all the little things they have. Great store though.
Anime King (Westminster): Lots of anime collectibles
Manga House (Irvine): Manga, Anime, anime collectibles, wall scrolls, backpacks, soundtracks...lots of stuff.
Kinokuniya (Costa Mesa): One of my favorite stores! Pure japanese goodness fills this store. Tons of manga, anime, anime collectibles, japanese magazines, japanese collectibles, japanese music...great store for the japan-o-phile. 3nodding
Book-Off (Costa Mesa. across the street from kinokuniya): If you can read japanese, this is the place for you. Thousands of japanese manga literally line the walls here. A lot of which are only $1! Also a lot of Japanese magazines, movies and music. They have a big used music section where you can get your favorite j-pop/j-rock/j-whatever for only $3! I've bought 4 CDs there so far and have been very satisfied. The trouble with the store is I don't read japanese and there is very little english around to help you out. The cashiers don't seem to speak much english either.
Mitsuwa (Costa Mesa): Not really a place to get anime so much as for food and drinks but there is a great bookstore and another store that have anime, manga and soundtracks. Fun place to go and wander around.
Marukai 98 Plus store (Fountain Valley): No anime or manga but a great store for cheap japanese things and foods/drinks. Nothing in this big store costs more than $1.50 and they've got some really really cool things.
Comic Quest (Lake Forest): My local comic book store. They sell anime and manga but that's it as far as that goes. Lots of normal comics, collectibles, RPG books and stuff. They're currently relocating to a new building so it might be another month before they'll have the new store set up. Last time I was there, they had already packaged up the anime and manga.

I have more...but I can't tell you ALL my stores. blaugh

Frank & Sons is the best place ever. i've never been there myself but my brother goes there often with his friends. he comes back with the best stuff. i always give him money to get stuff for me from there. 3nodding

well, i usually go to Little Tokyo in LA.
Anime Jungle - this place has the best anime merchandise. and the store owners told me that they actually go to Japan to get their stuff. and they have a huge collection of dvds too.
Kinokuniya Bookstore - i usually go here to buy my manga and other anime books. and i also go there to get artist supplies. and they have really nice Prince Of Tennis merchandise.
and there's this other anime store, i forgot what it was called. but it's near to Anime Jungle. anyways, they have dvds there that they sell for really cheap. like they have the whole series of .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet, both subbed and dubbed, for only $21. and i bought the whole series of Chobits, both subbed and dubbed, from them for only $40. and they have lots of J-Pop and J-Rock cds, Japanese video games, and anime t-shirts and school uniforms.
