Epcot Illuminations I don't really like that rooms are being opened at separate times, because it kind of feels unfair especially for the rooms that are opening later. Chances are like with wrath (i live on the east coast, and the mods like opening the event late in the day as is.) One reason is because that still leaves like the whole first day gone for any host that lives on the east coast of america and definitely leaves out any host from Europe (if there are any, I believe there is one in England) By the time like the lust a chastity room is open (with how slow Gaia always is, it will be somewhere like 11 pm Est first day chances are, if not later. Trust me I had to get my room unlocked in previous years because they forgot mine and it took them a long time to even respond. I say that it would be best to open all the rooms at once, and let the guests choose where they go to anyways, as many guests actually decide to just stay in the room they posted in first instead of going to them all. That is just my thoughts. Again, not trying to sound rude, but I don't want to have anyone left out of first day just because their room opened late in their time zone. I know what you are thinking but that idea will most likely not work, I have been in a ball where a few rooms opened later than others even by a few hours, and the rooms that opened late actually really only had 6-7 people actually post in the thread. (yes that happened to the Wild west room my first year. It was fun but felt like no one else cared except for the 7 in the room minus the co-hosts and host.) I'm from Vancouver (canada's west) and I could open it, sure.. but what about the other rooms? I like the riddle idea, and I'm sure everything will go just fine.

I will be definitely going to make sure my boss doesn't schedule me for work on the opening day of the ball so I can be there. Which reminds me, does anyone know when we are voting on the dates for the ball?

They haven't said anything about the dates as of yet. We really need a meebo meeting to sort some of this stuff out. All of this is dragging out and taking WAY too long.
As far as scheduling during the ball goes, there's always some problem or other with someone doesn't show up when they're supposed to, but everyone is really good at improvising.

I'm going to take these suggestions into consideration and try to re-draft a few things in the next few days...if it is not done by the end of this week...please harass me until i do. crying sweatdrop heart
Like I said things have been really out of control this year for me, and honestly this has been the least of my worries, but I do promice I will not let anyone down! heart
In the mean time please consider the room's to all open at the same time, and go ahead with your plotwork accordingly- but please take into consideration the main draft of the plot with a new timeline

I honestly don't think it's taking too long, mostley because in previous years we worked our butts off for the first few months and then the guild died so nothing was done in the end. If we can keep a stedy pace we should be ok. That being said, I do not know how the room's individuial fundraising is going, or if we have a big one for the ball this year. A meebo meeting would help alot!

Also we knew the dates for the ball before we had plot, so rooms could set up their own due dates for everything. This year we are way behind and this is going to cause big delays making hosts stressed until the ball, instead of having much needed resting time.

This year we are way behind and this is going to cause big delays making hosts stressed until the ball, instead of having much needed resting time. I would have to disagree...mostley because I did have meebo meetings almost every week last year and I just stopped because noone would show up... As for the dates I set them and noone actuially met them (or very few people). Also hosts did have plenty of time to set dates and get things in order, however noone of them really did until the last second...in which I was forced to delay the ball, and even then was displeased with the outcome- i thought last year could have been alot better. I hate to say it but perhaps a little stress will get things done faster (not being mean or disrespectful in any way to anyone- im just stating how I felt last year went). I'm really hoping this year will be better. I think it would be really important to be looking into artwork at this time/ designing costumes for room characters as it can be done without the main plot (or using the plot preview). I would also work on designing the games and the fundraising (as i think alot of rooms are lacking that this year- i have not heard anything yet). Also, post's can be done at this point for the general formatting of the thread.

I didn't mean to offend you, Blissy. sad I know you're working hard. *hugs* It's just that it seems like a lot of people have been disappearing while everything is apparently on hold. I think that if everyone could work together to shape the plot in a way that is pleasing to everyone, then it could boost moral and the speed that we get things done. One of the main things I'm worried about as far as getting the plot in time is concerned is having time to get our art done. There are still so many things up in the air that we need to decide. For example, are the co-hosts humans or are they sub-personifications of the sins and virtues? Will the doors open into rooms, or will they be portals to where the sins and virtues reside? Such things are important when it comes to designing characters. So, with that being said, it would be impractical to have our art done at this point. There is a lot to be done, but you don't have to bear the burden alone. We're all here to help you out, Blissy. biggrin
Here are a few ideas I have for sealing up the plot a bit: A long time ago, before humans ever existed, Sin and Virtue walked the Earth. These gods worked their powers in the animal kingdom, creating order and balance. Sin led predators to kill for food, and Virtue led those same animals to use that food to feed and nurture their young. Though Sin and Virtue were total opposites, they complimented each other perfectly, and they were happy. Eventually, Sin and Virtue had children of their own. Seven were sins like their father, and seven were virtues like their mother. When man appeared on Earth, the Sins and Virtues kept the balance in the human world just like they did in the animal world. But, the gods soon discovered that human beings are more prone to vice than the animals were. The Virtues watched in horror as men killed other men for power and selfish gain. They watched as wives were raped, and children starved to death. The Sins boasted in their powers, and watched in delight as the world went to ruin. The Virtues watched the pain and suffering until they could stand it no more. So, in a selfless act of love for humankind, the Virtues led the Sins to a tower where they used to live happily together, and sealed themselves away along with the Sins where their power would be weakened. After siblings locked themselves way, Virtue put the final seal on the door at the top of the tower where she and Sin would be sealed away for all eternity. The years passed and the tower became like a tomb. The only activity that could be seen was the occasional spider creeping across the stone floors. That is, that was all the activity in the tower until that fateful day when an unexpected visitor arrived and unintentionally broke the seal that unlocked the rooms of the 14 siblings.
- At this point, the guests would enter each room and each Sin and Virtue with powers greatly weakened by time. Each Sin is eager to prove himself or herself, so the guests venture out into the world along with the Sins and Virtues. - Each room will have it's own plot, but at the point when each set of Sins and Virtues learns to respect each other and keep the balance, a seal will break on the door of the parents. All seals should be broken by the end of day 2. - On the 3rd day, the parent gods, Sin and Virtue, will emerge and the last room will open. Somehow, the lesser gods and the guests must subdue Sin and bring Sin and Virtue back into balance and harmony. The ball ends with the Sins and Virtues back together as a happy family, and the lone traveler who set the story in motion promises to come back to help them if they should ever need it. THE END! heart
What do you think? Do you think that fills in the gaps pretty well while leaving enough room for creativity?

It's good (: and also lets each room stay interesting without forcing the guests to be on ALL the time(I felt kind of like I missed everything whenever I had to leave during the last ball ^^;) Though, the room plots will have to be a big part of this(not that it's anything wrong with that, but we should try to make the ball a whole, nevertheless). So we could try to make the room plots something that will keep the guests interested and then also getting the sin and virtue more(less?) balanced. Preferrably, the rooms would also interact in some way or another a few times during the ball ;) (this is at least what I think.. and I hope I'm not just stating the obvious..) Oh, and we really need some way to decide wether the cohosts will be humans, gods, half gods, semi-gods or.. what? Also, the hosts are all gods now, right?(If we use Chibi's plot, that is)

Also with Chibiès plot, what if one or two of the Sins & Virtues got out of the tower? We could use that to host a ball wide game?

The hosts are sins and the co-hosts are virtues. All of them are demi-gods.
The castle itself is not anything special but each room leads to an alternate dimension. Think of it as a world within an enchanted room. In these enclosed dimensions, each sin/virtue is kept away from eachother.
What if we opened all of the room's at the same time, however not the last one (it is nothing special anyway, and noone is running it- we can just do a battle update there or something menga style). Party goers can travel in and out of the room's freely because they are human, however the sins/virtues ect cannot because anything trapped in that dimention is not human.
When the riddles are solved, the sins/virtues will finally be able to be set free when the last room has opened.
or
each sin/virtue can escape from their room once their room's riddle is solved? This could create compitition between the rooms? When the last one is solved the final room can open- but with a twist wink
I do like the Idea of sin and virtue in which you have presented. Please alow me a few days to come up with all the ideas/solutions/combinations. I will be working on it thisevening after work emo
Thank-you
