Tess looked uncertain for just a fraction of a second longer, biting her lower lip as she stared at the pendant. But when Sheridan assured her that he had made it for her, well, who was she to say no? Even Legs was impressed, jewelry was jewelry. Provided that it wasn't made from cheap material it would last more than flowers or a box of blood-filled chocolates.
When the dragon boil unclasped the chain, Tess took it as her cue to pull her hair back, exposing her neck to him to make things easier. "Thank you, it's beautiful."

Mot had to laugh. She really didn't like that previous song. Mot tended to like almost all songs and forms of music. There wasn't much he didn't like. "Really?" he exclaimed happily as she admitted to enjoying dancing. "Well that's great. It's really best when you just let yourself have fun with it." She wasn't looking at her feet so much either, which probably was helping. It wasn't as fun if she only focused on technique. "Mine?" He tilted his head, ponytail falling to the side as he thought. "I love lively dances with a lot of movement, like Swing Dancing." He chuckled and shrugged. "That is something I can not teach you in one sitting." Lot's of shuffling and partner tossing. Mot once again laughed, grinning at his partner. "I was never worried about my shins. I've noticed your feet have been intangible this whole time." His sixth sense as a reaper allowed him to know the ghoul was a ghost before she'd even spoken to him. "But honestly, a kicked shin or two is nothing." The best fun was when things didn't go quite to plan, anyway. The music got a bit livelier, so the reaper smiled and nodded his head. "Ready to try something a little more fast paced?"

"Jack, no," Lark laughed softly before taking another sip of punch. "D'rather sit on a wasp's nest fer a week'n dress like this all th'time." She quieted for a moment, glancing up at him. "Y'look amazin', though, Ket." Lark had to admit, she was feeling pretty thankful for the mask that covered her cheeks, hiding the blush that bloomed. She silenced for a long moment as she heard Herryk's voice ring out, lips pressing together in a slight frown. She hadn't seen Freya yet, which was strange considering her blockhead of a boilfriend was here manning the skreejay booth, but. Lark snorted softly. "Lets go'n get our pictures taken, yeah?"

He smiled, gently placing the chain around her neck and latching the clasp. To him, the pendant may have made her even more beautiful. "As long as you have this, I will always be with you." A silly sentiment perhaps, but a sincere one. "Shall we?" He offered his arm, whatever uncertainty that had been in the twitch of his tail having vanished as he led his ghoulfriend from the dorms to the hall that held the prom. He didn't think they were late, but it seemed the hall was already crowded, a glance around the room revealing several familiar faces. Was that Tro over there? Sheridan raised his hand in a wave then turned his eyes toward Tess. "Should we dance?"

Jericho nodded to Shehk while trying to visualize this guy. It was definitely... an odd image to say in the very least. Tilting his head, he soon grinned lightly while kind of shifting his wings under his cloak. "Very carefully. We're keeping our wings folded rather tightly to our backside right now... might need to leave to stretch now and then."----- Shun narrowed his eye at Lou as he was trying to make a deal with Xiu. A slow dance? It sounded like an opportunity to potentially molest the poor girl. "Don't bother with it Xiu," he said lowly, "You can do better."

Willow had worn a purple dress that had a lacy flower pattern down one side. Her tail flickered as she smiled, when Kiwi had arrived to pick her up. Of course, they arrived in style via kiwi's mount. Willow seemed to be enjoying herself thus far and they hadn't gotten to the prom yet.
It was when they got to the prom she noticed just how many where there, "Oh.... this is a lot of ghouls and boils." She said softly taking Kiwi's arm and clinging to it perhaps a little too much. It'd take a few minutes before she'd even start to relax. There seemed to be a questioning look when Kiwi mentioned Famine's Celebrations. "What sort of things did you Celebrate?"
Distractions were nice, she adjusted the cat mask she'd managed to make. She'd painted it different shades of purple to match her dress.

"Yeah I know you would," he laughed a bit and then paused at her compliment - not that it was an uncommon occurrence but it still struck him and made him feel delightfully warm and fluffy inside, "Thanks, Lar," he said softly and he reached over to grasp her free hand for a moment, "and while I know you aren't exactly comfortable, you really are the most beautiful ghoul here."
Was he biased? Nope. Not one bit ... Okay maybe a little.
His head tilted toward where Herryk's voice came from there was still that small pang of regret within him whenever he saw the large boil but there was nothing to do but let go and...
His head tilted toward Lark, "Yeah~," he chimed out happily as he just kept a hold of her hand and lead the way toward the photobooth.

Amarus typically didn't listen to much music, and when she did it was instrumental alone. Instrumental music comforted her. But comfort wasn't necessarily a good thing when the more relaxed she got the more likely it was she would simply pass out altogether. "I am not used to "fun" that is not based on winning or losing," she explained. Which was true. She couldn't remember ever enjoying herself when it wasn't a competition-- oh, except for that one time when she was hanging out with Kettil. At least that wasn't a competition? She didn't think.
Given this was entirely new for her, it was hard not to focus so heavily on technique, but the more she was distracted the less she thought about it and the more she enjoyed it. It was really nice to move without thinking about that. "Swing dancing? It sounds... fast, yes. Lively. Too bad you can't teach me just now," she lamented, with a half-smile. The more action, the better.
"...yeah, it would take that extra bit of concentration to solidify them, really. It just seems to help." Amarus didn't explain why she was always so tangible, because she didn't really understand it herself. In truth, it was because part of her still mourned the loss of her body, her past, whoever she had been. Her memories. Lately she'd learned to get over that, but it wasn't a completely healed wound. So keeping herself totally tangible from her knees up when she was younger, and her ankles up now that she was an older student, helped her forget. Sometimes. And the sometimes was what really helped. "I don't know, Mot; have you seen heels? They look like weaponry. I feel like a kick in heels is well avoided?" Amarus suggested, cheering up a bit.
Amarus perked right up when he suggested they try something fast paced. "Challenge me!" she said, laughing. "If I bowl you over, we'll call it a learning experience and if you ever tell anyone I will duel you for my honour," Amarus said, grinning.

"Remind me to get you something in return," Tess murmured, accepting the proffered arm as they made their way to Prom. She hadn't expected things to end up this way when she was first enrolled in Amityville, and despite all the traumatic things, despite the times she still had nightmares and woke up sobbing and shaking, the feel of Sheridan's warmth and the knowledge that she wasn't alone made things less upsetting.
The ghoul had taken cotillion in her old school, so the suggestion to dance was a welcomed one. "This is Prom, and it's customary to dance at one," she smiled, looking around at the room to search for space when crimson eyes spotted a certain imp boil. She tensed, visibly, her grip on Sheridan's arm tightening. Oh no.Petro had to agree with Ulmuka, well partly. The tikbalang had to admit he was at first confused with the two ghouls. At first. As he spent more time with them and became more familiar with both, he could distinguish them from each other. Still, he had to break himself from the habit of always expecting them together, close as the two ghouls were with each other. The tikbalang returned the handshake, firm but amicable, he wasn't out to break the other boil's hand. A wry grin pulled at his mouth as Ulmuka accepted the bouquet of blue roses and handed them to Needle as intended. "Yeah, last year's Prom was also all fancy," Tro remarked. "And looks like there's a photobooth here too. Did y' already get y'r photos taken?" he asked.
From the corner of his eye, he noticed someone wave at him. Petro's smile widened, recognizing Sheridan and waving at him in return. He raised a square-root brow at the dragon's date. Huh. Small world.

"Fun is pretty fun, isn't it?" He joked with a chuckle. Mot nodded, "I could try and teach you here, but I fear you might trip over your intangible feet." Swing dancing took a fair bit of coordination between partners. Mot had to laugh. Heels could be considered a deadly weapon, indeed. "Challenge it is!" He chuckled at the duel idea and shifted his posture. "Okay, try to move to the music with me." This time he tried not to baby her through it quite as much, more bounce in his step as he lead them around the dance floor. "I won't get mad if you trip me." He called to her over the music. "I won't tell anyone either, promise!"

Amphi looked over at her date a little surprised. It was odd to see him speak up in something she thought he just might finding entertaining. She waved shyly to Shuns ghoulfriend, fascinated with her ears... Also she was this close to getting Xiu away when she made her deal with the vampire.
Cue small gasp.from the mermaid as she came to take the bakus hand and whispered, "Xiu...."
She blinked as the Vampire addressed her and Thana before offering a pointed smile. "Good evening Lou. I didn't realize that that you were accepted in Amityville...I hope you enjoying so far..." Be polite be polite. "But...um....if you do not mind...could you find a more acceptable way to um....deal with the devil you say?" She flushed..."maybe we can find a ghoul that's just right for you?" One that was not her best friend.
That being said, the mermaid contemplated maybe instead of Xiu, she could be Lou's dance partner instead so that Xiu could escape. However the thought was discarded because she wanted to dance with Thana...and Roch and False. But her first dance was with Thana....
"There's some lovely ghouls who would um....like your uh...sense of flattery...Lou."

Nuru's floppy ear flicked idly at the booming voice suggesting requests. His lips peeled back in a toothy feral grin and his hold on Zar tightened. Jove was safe... for now... as Nuru charged towards the skreejay with Zar determinedly in tow.
Reaching the booth Nuru scrawled a request out on a crumpled bit of paper that once was attached to Zar and slid it towards Herryk. It was about now he suddenly realized just who the skreejay was and smiled brightly at him.
He lowered his voice so not to disrupt the music, "Hey, ah didn' know you were skreejayin'?"

The dragon nodded, turning to lead Tess toward the dance floor. "I should warn you, I'm not a very good dancer." There was a hint of a chuckle in his voice. It was true he'd never been much of a dancer, but it didn't seem to matter. So long as they had fun, right? Just watch out for that tail, Sheridan, don't want to knock anyone over! It may have been a good thing that Sheridan had not yet noticed the imp that had caught Tess' attention.

Yep! Any ol'time- uh... Once again the ghoul had to glance around in case of gawking eyes or listening ears. Brushing hair was a fine and dandy way to pass time. Potential opponents just didn't need to know she enjoyed such activities. When the coast was clear, she continued. Yew got'it. Can braid'ya n' everythin' The tatzel smiled at the banshee ghoul, flickering a stray strand of hair that always just seemed to float over Siobhan's head.

Fai didn't bother explaining about his eyes. In fact he was looking around curiously as she spoke. "Well, actually, yes, there are two of my good acquaintances right over there." Then he led her through the ballroom, stopping in front of Willow and Kiwi. The golden bracelet around his ankle chimed as he nodded his greeting to the two. "Hello, Kiwi, Darkling," he said to them with a smile. "I see that you two were matched in that booth, as well?"
