"I think that shrimp is a wonderful idea, how hungry are you love? I want to make enough for you and for the growing baby. You are eating for two and I want to make sure that you are eating enough." He said smiling at his lover and smiled at him giving the man a kiss and looking the merman over.

"I will make two servings then so that if you are still hungry you can always eat more. If you need anything else tonight I will be sure to get it for you as well. And.... I wont be feeding from you until after our child is born. I don't know how feeding will effect you or the baby and I don't want to take any risk in hurting either of you." He said softly before he went to the kitchen and started to deshell the shrimp and prepare it. He knew how Sal liked his fish and went to work making the shrimp have a similar flavoring. Of course the vampire could make another flavor so that Sal had more options in his dinner. Actually, that is just what the man decided he would do for his mate.

"I wont be feeding from anyone my love. It will be far easier not to feed then to risk feeding and becoming more intimate with the one I feed on. I could ask a few of my vampire children but that would be risky anyways. Blood of a vampire is different then a humans." He said after a moment even as he started to cook. "Dinner should be ready in about 20 minutes."

"I do need to feed to stay at my best, but I think I can survive without feeding until we are sure you will be fine. I don't want to risk harming you or our child Sal." The vampire said as he smiled at his mate. Yes he would be easier to harm, but he was still older and smarter then many hunters and vampires so he figured it wasn't that big of a risk to go without. Not to mention he was fairly certain that few if anyone knew he was going to be having a child with someone.

"Are you sure that is something you want Sal? If the feeding gets out of hand...." He said looking at his mate knowing he would never sleep with anyone else but Sal. Still it was a risk when he bit someone that the blood lust could cloud his judgment and he didn't want to do anything like that. "The only compromise I can think of is to feed from animals like cows or something. It wont be as nourishing, but it will prevent the side affects from occurring."

Vlad looked at his mate knowing that it was going to be impossible to win this battle with the merman. "Sal, you know me too well. Fine, I will feed once a month but only from those that you personally select." He stated looking at his mate with both anger and sadness that the other would threaten their child just to force him to drink.

Vlad looked at his mate and let out a small sigh putting his arms around his mate and giving him a kiss. "Its alright, I know you didn't mean it, I just do not like that you threaten our child. They may not be very developed yet, but they are still living and as my first child, I will do everything I can to protect him or her." He said looked at Sal's belly for a moment putting a hand on his lover's stomach. "Your not a horrible person, you just want to protect your mate. There are many beings that react the same way. After all a mate cannot be replaced but children can be."
