at walmart they've started to cap pay.. so depending on your level you get so high up you don't get anymore raises..

yup.. over the summer i put in my application for a few places none hired me.. they weren't really hiring though, but i still tried.. i even put in for home depot before they even opened there store, but nothing.. i would try these clothing stores around me, but they start out pretty low, and i don't wanna lose to much of what i make now.. i'm willing to take a cut, but not a lot..

yeah, that's understandable. Have you tried stuff outside retail? Like, being a waitress/hostess or something? Or something behind a desk, like a receptionist/secretary thing??

well my best friend and her sister both work at a restuarant, and from what i hear i wouldn't like it much.. so i never really gave that a though, cause i know i probably wouldn't like that.. i'm not much of a people person to be friendly with someone, unless i take a liking to them.. if they are complete strangers i'm more likely to not be talkative and stuff.. i would do a receptionist type job if i could get one.. no one is ever hiring and when they are they always want someone with expierence and i don't have any.. there's always something, and i hate it.. i need to leave my job or i'm going to just have a mental breakdown or something.. since right now most places are only hiring for holiday help, after the holidays i'm going to give it another go on a new job thing..

Good luck with that! I'm also thinking of maybe waiting until after the holiday season, see how it goes.

I think you are wise to wait until after the holidays. I hope you can hold out until then Liz. It's for the better good to do so, though I know it is hard.

I was in the "Shopping Capital of Europe" yesterday. Pity I was visiting a University and not actually shopping. It was Birmingham by the way, Englands second largest city.
