At the fire Rikku deftly stirs the embers, adding fuel & kindling to the still warm under coals until they caught. She waited a moment to see that the fire was going good & proper before setting the pot over top of the flames. She shivers a bit in the breeze, unconsciously edging nearer the fire as she waits for the water to boil.
"You know... Fred & George must have spelled the firepit! It's been absolutely perfect. Except for that stray ember last night..."
She frowned trying to figure that out, her tail twitching behind her. The poor audio female could not know that the Weasley's had added their own type of brotherly protection to the magics keeping the firepit 'safe' -& keeping Rikku safe too.

Naruto carries his backpack out of the tent, not sure on how many Rikku would want. He sits beside her, looking up when he feels another breeze blow by and he sees clouds in the distance and he sighs. It looked like rain, but he hoped it would pass by their area, there was still alot to do that day, Rikku was gonna teach him to play Blitzball.
Sitting beside her, he starts pulling out Ramen cups, until he lays out 5, "I wasn't sure how many you wanted, so anythng you don't eat, you can give it to me!" he explains with a smile.

Looking over at Naruto she makes a silly face. "You might get disappointed when I eat as much as you do!"
Then she tilted her head. "How many do you think you'll eat?"
Checking out of the corner of her eye, Rikku saw that the water was not boiling yet & sighed. Sometimes it was no fun to have little patience.

Naruto scratchs at the back of his head, "Well, if I wasn't sharing, I could probably eat these 5 by myself, more if I was really hungry!" he says sheepishly. He leans back and looks out over the water as they wait for the water to boil. "It looks like rain is coming....I hope it isn't coming here..." he says softly, his eyes distant.

Rikku laughs at that, not doubting he could eat all five & wondering how many she could really eat. She did feel very hungry.
At the mention of rain she looked up & crinkled her face. "It wouldn't dare...!"
But at the same time she felt it did not matter. "But if it does... we can have tent-fun!"
What she meant by that, Rikku was not quite sure. She did know they would come up with something.

Naruto nods, watching the clouds in the distance, seeing lightening. He hoped the storm wouldn't head their way, but they could always bring everything into the tent and it looked sturdy enough to withstand anything. Besides, not like they couldn't play a game or anything. He looks back over to the pot to see if the water was boiling yet, he was just itching to dig into some ramen now!

Seeing the lightning, Rikku gives an involuntary shiver. Sure, she had concurred her uncontrollable fear of lightning on the Thunder Plains camping by herself but that did not mean she liked it now. She wrapped her purple gloved arms around her chest & hugged herself, not noticing as the water in the pot began to boil.

Naruto lets out a whoop of joy when the water boils and and he grabs the pot carefully and pours the water into the open cups. Once he fills them all, he covers them, mentally counting down to when the ramen would be ready. He looks over at Rikku of the corner of his eyes, then turns his head to her to see her with her arms around herself. Moving closer, he wraps his arms around and pulls her close. He himself didn't feel cold, but he certainly wasn't going to let Rikku get chilly if he could help it.

Letting her eyes close partway Rikku leans back into his embrace. "You know... I used to be deathly afraid of lightning. Not anymore, But sometimes, sometimes I remember being afraid more than others."
Twisting in his arms she smiled & kissed his nose. "How long for the cups? Trel usually gets the bag kinds with seperate flavor packets at home."

Naruto thinks about it, almost forgetting about the ramen cups for a second, focussing on how Rikku feels in his arms. He looks over to them, whispering, "Probably another minute before we can eat them." he says. Then he nuzzles the side of her face, purring softly as thunder booms far off in the distance, "Even if the storm came this way, it probably won't be for hours, so we would be able to get what we need inside. And besides, I would protect you from the lightening..." he whispers, kissing her cheek.

Purring herself now -only mildly flinching at the thunder in the distance- Rikku nuzzles him in return. Kissing Naruto's chin she smiles at him. "You're so sweet, 'Ruto."
She snuggles into him for moment, knowing full well that the call of ready ramen will be upon them very soon. Rikku giggles. "I've never had anyone protect me before. I've always looked out for myself. But I think... I like the idea of you protecting me."

Naruto nuzzles her gently as he smiles and purrs happily, "I'll always protect you Rikku..." he whispers, knowing in his heart he will do everything in his power to keep that promise to her. He holds her for another minute, just glad to have her scent around him and have her in his arms. He sighs to himself when he realizes the ramen should be done by now. He didn't want to let her go, but she was hungry and needed to eat.
He unwraps his arms from around her and picks up one of the cups, digging in his pack for chop sticks and hands them to her. Once they are passed, he grabs his on chopsticks and cup and soon is digging in.

She did not want to be let go of either, but it was not so hard knowing it was going to happen. Besides, the rumblings of her tummy could not be denied. Rikku accepted the chopsticks with a smile & attacked the contents of her cup with ravenous grace. All too quickly it seemed it was gone. A slight pout crossed her features until she remembered the slight 'challenge' of trying to match Naruto. With a grin Rikku started into her second cup.
"Yumm..."

It hardly takes Naruto any time to finish off his first cup, a pleased smile on his face. Noticing that Rikku had finished her first one off rather quickly and starting on her second, he reachs for his second as well, quickly slurping up the noodles with vigor. He quickly downs the broth in the cup and reachs for his third, always seeming to go through ramen like it was water. But he silently takes note of the clouds in the distance and he doesn't like the fact they seem to be slowly heading their way.

Not even halfway through her second cup Rikku felt herself getting full. This time she did pout. "Fayths! Can't I even match you at something?"
With a sigh she set her half eaten cup near the shinobi & looked out at the encroaching storm. "uh-oh... maybe I should start getting the sleeping bags inside."
She leaned over & kissed Naruto on the forehead before doing exactly that. "Might wanna start thinking about what we can do inside the tent!" She called out innocently behind her.
