Oh I am honored to have first interaction with the new AI...even though Steven's arm might need to be in a cast for a while as a downside.

hmm.. amazing, I add a clueless female NPC into the mix ad suddenly everyone is all interested in the plot. I also have decided on our next plot Arc, so after the bar, it's a time-skip to go-time!
Also, teddo, Would it be possible for you to write in third-person past tense? the rest of us write that way, and your posts are a bit different. I won't make you change the ones you already have, but in the future, could you try that? (ex. would be "he stepped" instad of "he steps")

Hmmm why yall doin past tense? Used to doing it present, but I can do that. I assume you're writing it out in the form of a story that already happened? And let's move the bar part along quickly, there's not really much I have to say to anyone xD Jack does better in action.

Yo~ Was wondering what the specific jobs of the marines are in the RP... are we mainly used for boarding parties, repelling boarding parties, ground assaults, or what? Also, did you say that we're going on a mission to the Drathonian homeworld....?!

To answer your question about the marines: yes.
more correctly, there are two types of marines on board. those who specialize in ground fighting only, and those who are also capable pilots. the Marine pilots go in and take out defensive weaponry, fortified positions, and do general strafing-type runs. then, they return to the ship, and board/invade/whatever as the second wave of troops. the ground fighters go in first (So, while my character is flying, yours is boarding, then mine eliminates rather large obsacles of yours, returns to the ship, and comes in as back-up on the ground)
also: my ranking system doesn't seem to have seargeants in it, as i'm lame and forget normal military ranking structure. the man you were talking to would either be a captain or an officer... which right now makes very little sense.... maybe i'll just change "officer" to 'seargeant' in my lame-o CCG...

Well Sergeant is just a subset of officer, so officer is more of a category than an official rank. Thanks for the info. A couple more questions: how exactly do the first wave marines get deployed? Are there special boarding crafts for other vessels? Is there another type that takes us to the surface of the planet? Sorry to be so bothersome, but it would help me out if you described these vessels a bit.

don't worry about asking questions, it's impartant to know what's going on to properly RP something.
The first wve of marines usuallyget launched out of tubes on boarding pods containing a squad each. this way, theres almost no transit time for the soldiers to get shot down on. later waves come in shuttles.
naturally, ground combat is a bit different, as the boarding pods only work in space due to their simplicity (being disposable makes it necesarry to not have them complex) and usually a heavy transport will launch a few speacial landing shuttles to secure a landing place before coming in and unloading everything (from tanks to infantry) directly on to the ground. it's very dangerous, but that's the nature of planetary invasion in the space age. in special cases, boarding pods could be fired at fortified positions for surgical insertion of special forces, but that's pretty rare.
as for actual equipment; most soldiers in boarding parties carry light armor due to the fact that they need to be mobile in often tight spaces. they carry lower powered automatic weapons to lessen the liklihood of a hull breach. on the ground, heavier armor is usually equipped, as well as larger weapons.
answer your question any?

Okay so is the "bro" specifically designed for inter-ship combat? If that's not what its intent is then I'd love to make a different weapon for that purpose.
