Alric broke the surface pulling rin up with him. She was out as he kept her head above water.
He looked around seeing the boat. he had to swim to it, pulling her along with him. A rope was tossed to him as he clung to it and held Rin. The men onboard pulled them up from the water. it was incredibly hard for alric to hold onto both the rope and Rin but he was able to get them both on board.
Alric layed Rin down and put his ear to her chest. Not hearing anything he began to do compressions on her chest and breathing.

The men watched as he did this, worried, grim looks on their faces as they went back to the work they were doing...
For a moment, Rin did not understand what was going on. Einar, Alric... they were both in her view, both smiling at her, holding their hand out to her... It was a choice, she understand, but she didn't know which one to truly make.
Einar... the man that she loved, had loved with all of her heart and soul...
Alric, who had saved her so many times, and also held a place in her heart...
One smiled at her, while the other looked at her worryingly, calling her back.
She felt a push on her chest, and actually felt a breath, sweet air returning to her lungs...
It was time to say goodbye, and she knew it. She could no longer dread on the past, nor could she hold onto the man that she had loved for so long... he was gone, and she knew he would not want her to hold onto him if it was going to keep her this miserable, this alone. Looking into his eyes, at his smile... she reached out to him one last time, one last kiss before letting him go for good... Before their lips touched, she could see the look of understanding on his face; still, she did not want to cry in front of him, allowing their lips to meet.
Goodbye, Einar.
That is when she began to feel the pain in her chest, the soreness of her body, the chilly air around her. The feeling of his lips on her's did not fade, as she slowly began to regain consciousness, her eyes meeting Alric's before she began to cough up what had brought her so near to death. Tears welled in her eyes from both the experience of falling overboard, nearly drowning, and letting go of someone she never thought she would say goodbye to....

Alric, backed away letting her cough out all the water. He was releived to see her breathing again. she had really scared him. he was there kneeling next to her waiting for her reaction to seeing him there.

Looking at him... Rin did not know whether she was seeing the real Alric or not, if she was still in a dream... she presumed she was back to reality. She could not forget what had happened just moments ago; but what had really happened? Had she died? Had she choose to live over being with Einar again?
She had said goodbye... and she knew she could no longer mourn for him like she had, hold onto him like she had... She had to let go, and she could remember the look in his eyes, the feel of his lips...
When she coughed out all the water, she could not ignore the tears in her eyes, or the dread in her heart.

"you ok rin"
Alric's word were plain....she sat therewith tears not really sure what she was going to do. She hadn't said anything to him yet but the look on her face was one of loss.

It was at that moment Rin remembered Alric... She looked away from him, just moving closer, perhaps hoping for some reassurance that she had made the right decision.

Alric placed his hand on Rin's shoulder. He was trying to reasure her...to let her know that here she was safe now.
"Rin say something"

Words... did not come to her. Goodbye was a hard thing to do, and she just wanted to show him she was fine... but she couldn't... not yet... not until this moment was gone, and part of the past. So she just moved closer, resting her head on his chest, ignoring the waves that splashed onto the deck, the way the boat rocked.

Alric wrapped his arms around her...holding her securely allowing her to lean on him. The water continued to splash at their feet from the waves. He wasn't sure what had happened to her down there...or if it was just from the trauma of nearly drowning, but she wasn't the same.
He didn't want her to be able to read him and know how worried he had been and how scared he had been when she went under. He had to say something...something that would help her come back to herself.
"see Rin....what would you do without me"

"Make the wrong decision."
She spoke clearly, but leaned against him, her voice soft and hard to hear. Shivering to the cold, she stayed by him for warmth, not interested in talking.

Deciding not to speak, she just looked off at the wet material of his shirt, in fear that if she closed her eyes, she would see Einar again. Today would be tough, and tomorrow would be easier... she had to wait.

Alric contned to hold her, sitting there on the deck of the ship. He didn't want to let her go and from how she was acting she didn't want to be let go of either.
Eventually they would need to get up...she would get cold sitting here and she would need to change into dry clothes.....but not yet..for now the stayed there her in his arms whil he pulled her into his body.

Eventually, tiredness and cold overwhelmed Rin, and she began to shiver from the biting wind. Looking up at Alric, she just pulled away, taking his hand and leading him down the room she had rented. Her bag was in there from earlier, when she first got on the boa, so she was able to change into some drier clothes.

Alric followed Rin down after grabbing his own gear he had left on the deck. He wasn't gonna say anything to her right now....he felt awkward enough from this whole experience. Once in the room he set his own equipment down hanging a few of his things to dry out.
