The gnomes were deliberating, deciding that Alwine wasn't their cup of tea, but that purple monster had already almost killed one of them. Did any of them really want to take that chance again?

Not likely.

So one of the surlier gnomes toddled out himself, and did Riley's job for her. He tugged on Alwine's dress, trying not to look like he was peeking under it.

"Sorry kid! You're out!"

Oh Jack, oh Jack. What had she done?! It had happened the moment Chuppi felt one of her fingers start to poke into Tybalt's wrist, something she didn't want to do because she knew her claws would hurt him even if he was a ghost but. . .then he slipped out of her hands and went soaring. The monster couldn't really watch to see where he landed, her hands quickly covering her eyes, and Chuppi winced as she waited for the sound of impact. Almost instantly she felt. . .well, horrible, and despite her best efforts to not panic right away she felt hot tears start to well in the corners of her eyes. They spilled down her cheeks, following a path they had taken too often, and she quickly rubbed at them to keep her face clean. It was all she could do not to start wailing at the fact she'd hurt Tybalt (maybe) and now he hated her (maybe again).

Without waiting to see what was going on Chuppi started away from where she was and off towards the side, bumping into several people and cutting at their dresses and suits with her quills. She normally would have said sorry and bawled that she was hurting people, but her inner upset kept her moving and over towards the refreshment table, where she attempted to squeeze past. Unfortunately for her (and anyone else wanting a drink) she bumped it in her haste and watched as the punchbowl tumbled onto the floor, splashing all over the dress that Lizzy had made for her and all over the ground.

Ruined dress. No punch. Hurt Tybalt.

Chuppi hated Scarentines.

Ashford glanced around, uncomfortable. Per Thackery's (rather pleading) request, he had not donned his helmet before their outing. It would be a wonder if anyone was able to gather who he was, as the only identifying traits to him now were that he was dressed snappily, was in the company of the Cerb boy, and had his great knife strapped to his back.

Even if said knife was in a red and black sheath of Thackery's own design. He had opted for a two button suit, and a pair of suitably nice oxford toe shoes that he had yet to dirty properly. He'd even decided on a silk red tie, to match his ensemble.

Nervously, he clutched at Thackery's arm, only half conscious of the fact. The Cerb was so much more comfortable in large social situations, and without his helm, Ashford's nerves were slightly easier to fray.

He wanted to leave already. "There are...quite a large number of people here, Thackery."

Alwine looked down at the gnome and gave a shrug.

"I knew I couldn't dance. I'm terribly sorry for taking up your valuable time..." she trailed off as she heard a crash, followed by a splash. The ghoul froze once more as she saw the mess covering the small monster. Hadn't she talked to her on groanspring? Something about... dresses, oh!!

Alwine pulled up her dress to her knees so she wouldn't drag it in the punch before running over to the mess. She tried to stutter out something to Chuppi, but it gargled in the back of her ... did she even have a throat? Well, either way, Alwine pulled out some spare bandages from her dress and offered them to the chupacabra.

"If you do not mind, I can escort you to the ghoul's room if it would be easier to clean up there..."

"It kind of looks like it," Siddie agreed. She hesitated only a moment more. "I'm going to go help, okay? I'll come right back." She squeezed Sammy's hand and hurried over to Chuppi and Alwine.

"What happened? Are you okay?" she asked the chupacabra. "Dark, that stuff got all over. I"ll help you clean up."

If nobody could tell that Thackery was ecstatic by his frantically wagging tail, the huge smile probably gave it away. A gentle hand rested on Ashford's arm as though he hoped to comfort him through the touch. He walked very carefully to stay uniform with his companion's larger strides - it was a very delicate balance, because walking too slow meant that he would hold him back, and too fast...tended to make him look like an over-excited pomeranian.

Having relocated Princess Cinders, the Cerberus now wore the minipet around his neck. It might have been a fitting accessory had he been donning something that actually went with the boafox, but that was not the case. Not even a little. It appeared that he had plucked bits and pieces of his outfit from Scarentine's clichés and smashed them all together into...well. It was something. He wore a button-up shirt of some shiny material that had clearly been altered to show off his midriff, a heart sewn onto the sleeve, skinny black pants, and flowers everywhere. There were purpling roses on his belt, in his hair, pinned to his shirt, and wrapped around his wrist. His excess made him smell a bit like a florist's trashcan.

The energetic pup did not match Ash's classy look in the slightest, but he was content with their collective appearance nonetheless.

"There are! Isn't it great? And so much stuff to do together! We could dance or eat food or say hi to people or-" he paused. Right. His enthusiastic extroversion was taking control again. "Or we can do what you want to do. I'm just glad you wanted to come with me." He smiled up at Ash, hugging close to him.

Riley had barely managed to set Tybalt to one side, when Sammy came over.

Broken? Hardly. I can take a little more than just a Tybalt to the face. She gestured towards a nearby table, following her own hand as she looked over at Malodore. Her expression softened. It's right there. There was an incident at the dance contest earlier, so it's taking a little break.

She dropped her hand, and settled it on Junko's shoulder. Have you ever met Junko, Sammy? She's blessed with quite the ability for tailoring. This lovely outfit she is wearing was made by her own hand.

Riley's eyes followed the escaping form of Sammy's date, before dropping back to Sammy with a mischievous, half-lidded gaze. So, tell me about your date. She looks lovely.
