Long walks on the beach were cathartic.

Maybe Harland could trade his soap book for more seashells.
Bartering. Well, they had no portals right now, right? So why not? It would be more useful to him if he had seashells but he could always use more soap.
He was at six seashells, in case anyone else was counting.

Harland set to gently unearthing whatever it was.
Maybe it was a giant seashell.
A supershell. To make a superbracelet.
He was like a highschool girl with a crush, just... internalized. As he unearthed and opened a box of white prayer flags addressed to someone named Aria, he thought: What am I going to do with a string of white handkerchiefs? Because he was not familiar with these things and did not understand who would have attached them all.
He could not make a bracelet out of prayer flags.
Sad Harland was sad.

Jerry wondered why he kept at this. Again, he remembered - free things were free things, and the longer they waited out in the sand, the more deteriorated they'd become. Better liberate what there was to scavenge and put it to good use!

Unfortunately, it looked like his scavenging luck was no good that day. With a sigh, Jerry kicked at the sand, sending a pebble splashing into the nearby waves- only to disrupt something sleeping under the water- he hurried off before the tentacles lashed his way.

As she moved to resume her run, America's toe nudged something in the sand. Moving to pick it up, the item quickly crumbled. Making a face, she muttered something about it probably being made in China or something while feeling vaguely dissatisfied with the world in general.
