Konan - Mount Reikaku

A red blush spread across Mika's cheeks, as she smiled. "Thank you... for the compliment." She sighed, thinking about it. "But... I'm not too sure. I know, whenever Hotohori shows up, I'm more than likely not going to be the leader anymore. Atleast, until he leaves again. The sad part is..." she sighed again, "as much as I want to be normal... it will probably never happen. I'm a criminal." She didn't want to mention that she was fairly certain that almost as soon as they arrived Eiyoh, she would be slapped in irons and left to rot in one of the jail cells.

"I don't think you have to worry about that. Riku doesn't seem to have much of a problem, does he? Besides, I won't let them put you in irons." He crossed his arms over his chest, "A Suzaku Warrior should have respect, well most should anyway..." He let out a small sigh. "Thanks for the tea Mika, I'm going to go to bed." He ruffled her short hair. "You keep faith ok? The priestess can't have more then one of us useless..."

"He did... a bit earlier." Mika said softly, as she took another sip. She knew Riku didn't like her performing her duty as the leader. But, she had no choice. Honor bound her to do what she had done. Mika smiled again. She really liked being with Tamahome. It was odd, but she felt she could tell him anything. She squeaked as he ruffled her hair, a mixture of slight shock and laughter. Grabbing his hand, she gave it a small squeeze. "I'll try... I'm not making bets on how well it will work, but I will try. Sleep well, alright? We're going to have a long day tomorrow."

He smiled, looking down at her, "You too Mika, don't worry so much ok? You're pretty face will get wrinkles early." He kissed the inside of her wrist, right on the pluse point there. "Goodnight..." he said with a handsome smile, then he turned around and headed for bed.

He slept a bit long in the morning, having pleasent dreams about a sweet girl that was way too good for him.

Kyo stood up and looked around. I guess I feel asleep outside. He let out a small sigh as he began to walk around the outside of the building. I'm not even sure where I am or who's company i'm in. Am I safe of should I be warry of who is near me. Kyo jumped into a nearby tree and watch for someone to pass by.

Mika nodded, as the red hue on her cheeks grew. Once he had stepped out of the kitchen, she raised her hand, looking at the wrist that Tamahome had just put his lips to. It was odd. She didn't know what it was, but just looking at her wrist made her feel... funny. Having him kiss her wrist made her feel funny as well. Hell... being around him makes me feel a bit funny. What wrong with me?

She didn't know what it was that made her feel so odd around Tamahome. Mika enjoyed his company considerably. She could talk to him... she felt she could tell him anything. The only other person she felt like that with was Hotohori, her brother. But, even then, it was different. Mika shook her head, resting the hand he had kissed onto her head.

Once she finished her tea, she stood up and headed out of the kitchen. Before she went into the shrine, where she was going to sleep, Mika stopped by Tamahome's door, to look at it. What is this that I feel when I am around you? She smiled, continuing on her way to the shrine. She entered the Suzaku Shrine, and pulled a few of the pillows together to make herself a little bed. With her robe around her, Mika nodded off.

When she awoke a few hours later, Mika sat up, looking around. Even though she had only slept for a little while, it was all she could handle. She didn't know that Nuriko was up at that time. The only thing really on her mind was what had happened earlier, and the fact that her brother wasn't back yet. Miki... where are you?

Riku came to the door, his hair was loose and hanging over his shoulders, his black under robe was on but not tied, and he wore the dark red pants he'd have on last night. He smiled when he opened the door. "What a pleasent sight to wake up too. How early is it?" He looked outside to see how far the sun was up... he was still amazed that the sun was moving again. "So," le looked back at her with a calm smile, "What can I do for you this morning?"

Chiriko stuck his head out the door and looked around. His hair wasn't spiked yet, so it hung down around his face, setting on this shoulders. His dark red hair even fell in front of his eyes a bit, making him seem pretty almost. "Hey there Nuriko," he smiled and streched, coming outside. He was already dressed, but still barefoot. He looked alot different with his hair down.

Lian turned bright red when she saw Riku's chest, then quickly remembered that she had seen it only last night on the road. She hadn't seen Chiriko come out, so she jumped and nearly ran behind Riku when she saw him.

"Chiriko! Who . . . what . . . don't scare me like that!!" she stammered, blushing harder. "I . . . uh . . . I just wanted to see if you two were awake. Breakfast is almost ready, so you better hurry!!"

Flustered, she ran back the way she'd come.

"Hee hee, looks like someone's blushing," Nuriko teased as Lain ran.

"Nuriko!!"

Her exasperated responses to Nuriko's unheard ones were heard all the way down the hall.

Chiriko laughed as she ran away, all flustered. "Riku, Riku... you should never answer a door dressed like that. You'll liable to send the women folk into a frenzy. Now you should take a page from me, I am dressed because if I weren't, the ladies would attack me."

Riku raised an eyebrow, "Come now, once this is all over, I'm going to court Lady Nuriko properly, and she will become your Empress. You'd better behave around her."

"Awfully sure of yourself, aren't you? Well no matter, Nuriko is like a little sister to me... my eyes are for one flower alone."

"Oh yeah, and who might that be?"

"Ayame, of course! Man word play just isn't your thing, is it?"

When she had finally gotten Nuriko to stop teasing her, she helped bring out the food. Satisfied, she went back to Chiriko and Riku.

"Sorry about that, I was just helping to set the table," she made the excuse up quickly, even though it was the truth . . . sort of. "If you guys are ready, we could all go eat together."

Tamahome was lazy, even though he knew he needed to get up. After a few minutes of just laying there, he got up and got dressed. "Man I'm starving, but I should go by and make sure the Priestess is alright." Then he stopped to think, "I'm sure Mika would check on her since she's in her room, and a girl. He headed to the dining room to see what was for breakfast.

Riku smiled and came up to her, extending his arm to escort her properly. "I would very much like to have breakfast. I didn't get a chance to eat much last night, so I am quite famished." He smiled softly down at her.

Chiriko came up as well, "Sure, I'm starving! And you sure were cute all flustered like that. Your cheeks were all pink."

"Chiriko really, stop teasing her."

Lian blinked in surprise, then beamed at them both.

"I helped around the kitchens today, otherwise I would have checked on you two sooner," she explained. "I apologize in advance if I smell slightly odd, it was the ingredients for the soup I made."

"You help in the kitchen? I will bet the food it quite excellent then." Nuriko has always been a fine cook, that does not really surprise me. Riku mildly admonished the Emperor, telling him that he needed to learn over her without his help.

Chiriko leaned down and sniffed her, "Hmmm, you do smell a bit weird, what did you put in this soup? Are you sure it's ediable?" He said this all in a playful, teasing tone.

"Fine, don't drink it," Lian stated simply, frowning. "It's ginseng herbal soup. It'll help boost your immune system, and perhaps wake you up." To Riku she blushed a little and smiled as she took his arm. "Well, I'm not that good, I just know whatever I learned from my mother. And I've been working in the kitchen at home since Liang and I were alone . . ." Her expression fell slightly as she mentioned her family and home. But it was gone, replaced with a smile. "And I've been brewing medicines for my patients in the village I lived in for a while."
