Kaleb thought Felicia's comment about balancing science and magic made sense, he wouldn't have been able to get as far as he had in his healing and protective magics without his knowledge of physics and biology to back him up.
The scrawny mage startled when she coughed, but he managed to give her a small lopsided smile. "I-I'm just a little nervous around people I don't know," he said quietly and appologetically. "A-and I-I'm not afraid of leather, d-don't worry about that." He blushed quite a bit at that and busied himself looking at book titles, hoping Felicia wouldn't notice his reddening cheeks.
If he didn't have one hand up examining the books on the shelf, he probably would have fidgeted rather nervously at the thought of anyone just watching him while he browsed. "I-it probably wouldn't be much fun..." He trailed off, unsure of what else he could say without offending the other.

 "Okay!"
Grinning happily, Demyx hopped off of Luxord's back and started to wander off. He was certain that if he tried, he could easily sniff down the cookie shop. Hopefully Luxord would follow.

Felicia pondered. "Nervous around people you don't know?" This kid was sounding more and more like him as time went on. She bet that if he let loose enough he'd have the unfailing wit of a pro-comedian. Snickering to herself at her internal monologue she devised a plan. "Okay then, I have an idea, sit down facing me please, and I'll do the same. Don't worry, I won't get to close, I promise, and I'll have my hands behind my back just in case." She took a seat facing Kaleb. In all honesty, just watching him would have been perfectly fine for her. Her eyes could wander as he busied himself, infact, she'd plan to do that later. Pushing her naughty little thoughts to the back of her mind for a moment (most likely to just bring back more unmentionable thing with them upon their return) she waited til Kaleb was sitting, or close to it anyway. "If you don't know someone very well, it's a good idea to ask them things. But considering you're just a little fidgety, I'll start." She cleared her throat. "I'm Felicia Hardy, also known as The Black Cat, I used to be a spy of sorts. I've also had quite a few run ins with magic and science experiments gone wrong. Infact, that's how I came apon getting my powers." She paused, there, she had given Kaleb a brief history of herself. Now she'd get to the part she really wanted to say. "And from as little time as I've spent with you til now, I think you're a very bright and intelligent young man. Also, I can't help but find you and your nervousness irresistible and adorable." She allowed for another pause. "Now it's your turn, you say a little about yourself, then say something about me." She gave him a smile, she would have held out her hand to better signify it was his turn to speak, but her hands were behind her back, as promised.

He followed after Demyx. He knew the water mage would be able to sniff out the cookies faster than he could find them so it was better for him to take the lead.

Kaleb nervously looked around, wondering if a bookstore was the best place to sit and exchange information like that, but he followed her lead and sat down cross legged in front of her with his tail curled into his lap. His posture was straight-backed without looking like it made him uncomfortable, but his hands did fidget in an anxious manner.
When she mentioned what she thought of him, the little healer immediatly blushed and looked away. How did she expect him to say anything after making him so flustered? "I-I'm s-sure you already know my name," he stammered, not quite able to find the courage to meet her eyes. "I-I'm training to be a healer, so I can protect people and save lives."
He really couldn't think of anything truly noteworthy to say about himself, so he moved onto the challenging part of this game. He composed his thoughts carefully and made an effort not to stutter. "From what I've seen, you are a friendly and social person, and you have a... way with words and a flair for the dramatic."

Soon enough, Demyx had led the way to the cookie store and was bouncing happily in front of it.
"I fouuuuund it!"
The blonde giggled, bouncing back to retrieve Luxord and hopefully get him to the store faster.

She giggled as he blushed. Such a cutie. "Well thank you for that. You're pretty perceptive arn't you?" Felicia wanted to just give him a great big squeeze at this point, but a promise is a promise...unless. "Do you mind if I put my hands in my lap, sweetheart?" Of course, she had to add the little nickname in there, just to see his reaction.
Back on the original topic Felicia pondered over his first statement. "Save lives, hm? Such an admirable cause. Any reason behind it? Not that you'd need a reason to do something so noble. I'm just a curious kitten is all..."

Getting tugged along by Demyx he looked at the assortment of cookies they were selling. Pleanty of sweet things to keep the happy one occupied.
"Pick out which ones you want" He nuddged Demyx. "Just not too many"

Kaleb shook his head and blushed automatically at the name Felicia gave him, he didn't mind where she put her hands. In fact, he had no idea why the location of her hands hands had anything to do with him or the situation in the first place.
He nervously chewed on a thumbnail, thinking about how to properly answer her question. The little mage's desire to help was such a part of him, she might as well have asked asked why he had decided to grow his hair blonde. "M-my father was a surgeon," he started, speaking in a soft and slow tone as he found the words he needed. "And he taught me about how precious life is. I guess that's why."

"Kay!"
He gave a happy squeak, quickly scurrying off to examine the cookies for sale. Despite his general love of sweets, Demyx certainly had his favorites, and after a few minute's time he had managed to pick out a handful of cookies. Green eyes turned to Luxord, looking for approval.
"Is that okay daddy?..."

Placing her paws in her lap she wiggled her fingers around. Oh it was just so tempting to grab the innocent boy infront of her and 'snuggle' him. But she resisted.
"I see, I see. Well if that isn't a good reason I don't know what is. I followed in my father's footsteps too! He was a great spy and one of the brightest minds in the world, well, in his time anyway." She rolled her fingers around. The blushing innocence infront of her was so tempting, if she pounced on him now, there was no way he could get away from her grasp. But...she just couldn't. "Well...since we know eachother a little bit better, may I ask a favor of you, hon?"

Somedays the little water one was just too cute for his own good. He reached over and scratched the smaller one's ears. "Yes. That's fine." He added a cookie for himself to the pile before paying for them.
"Just dont eat them all at once." He handed the bag to Demyx after retrieving his cookie.

Kaleb glanced away from Felicia and chewed on his lower lip a bit, feeling a small amount of bitter shame. He hadn't really been able to follow in his father's footsteps, not with his embarassing weakness.
He did glance back up as she asked him a question, pushing his miserable thoughts aside for the moment. "I-I will help if I can," the mage replied hesitantly, it was the best he could offer without knowing what favour she was going to request.

Demyx purred happily, quickly hugging the bag to himself after taking out a single cookie. He'd work on that one for now, and save the others for later.
"Thanks daddy!"
Tail wagging, the sitarist worked on his cookie, eyes darting around to take in everything.

What she wanted to say is 'Meet me in the back room in 2 minutes', again restraining herself, she gave a smile. "I know this may sound a bit weird, and maybe even a bit selfish. But..." She allowed for a pause, just to soak in the look on his face. "Since we know eachother better now, and I'm not such a stranger. I was wondering...if would be so kind...as to give me...a hug." She smiled wider. Once she could get her arms around him she would start her plot of corrupting the little guy. Her mind mentally squee-ed over everything. She prayed he'd say yes...ohhhh the fun she would have.
