He tried to sit still and not fidget while Kaleb worked on the cake. If he started asking questions he'd start babbling and that wouldn't get him anywhere. Kaleb just needed to be asleep and healing and then he'd feel better.

From the moment Kaleb took his first bite, he thought the cake had to be worth all the pain caused by his shifting. It was the most wonderful chocolate desert he had ever tasted. He ate it just as slowly as he usually did, if not slower to really enjoy the taste, and he thanked Riley between bites once or twice.
The little mage probably would have finished the entire slice in one sitting if he hadn't started to feel drowsy all over again half way through. "I-I'm sorry," he apologized, setting the fork down on the plate. "I think... I think I should lie down. Just for a minute."

He nodded and moved the plate to the nightstand. "No prob." Leaning down he nuzzled his partner carefully. "Ya just rest up and feel better"

Kaleb smiled a bit, glad Riley wasn't angry or disappointed that he couldn't finish the cake, and then shifted with a small wince to find a more comfortable sleeping position. But that was when he noticed it didn't hurt as much as it had propping himself up, and his expression turned suspicious. "You didn't... You didn't give me more painkillers, did you?" He asked, trying to keep himself relatively alert long enough to get an answer.

"I gave ya cake and milk." He nodded and nuzzled Kaleb again. If he just went to sleep before he though of anything else then maybe he'd forget by the time he woke up again.

"You drugged me!" Kaleb exclaimed as best he could while feeling so drowsy. He was pretty sure by now that his accusations were correct, it all made sense to his sleep-addled mind. He still thought Riley bringing him chocolate cake was nice, but it was also a suitably sneaky way of making him take the painkillers, and it explained the sudden drowsiness and less pain perfectly.

Kaleb huffed a bit, but it was a pathetic huff because he was already mostly asleep and wouldn't have been able to protest effectively with the drugs kicking in. It wasn't long before he fell asleep and his displeased expression faded completely, and he started drooling on the pillow.

He grumbled a bit at the drooling being done on his pillow but he couldn't exactally wake Kaleb up to tell him to stop. Eventually he just huffed and sighed and fell asleep himself.

When Kaleb woke up the next morning, he lay still for awhile to let himself wake up completely, and then slowly pushed himself into a painful, half-sitting position. He looked at the clock and figured Riley wouldn't be awake for awhile. He slipped to the edge of the bed and let his feet dangle, trying to decide if clean clothing was worth the pain of getting to his dresser and back, or even the pain of sitting upright while he made up his mind.

He heard Kaleb trying to get up and shifted. "stop movin .. not suppostah." There wasn't anything he could be trying to get up and that that he couldn't get for his partner.

Kaleb winced a bit. If Riley had stayed asleep, he could have just gotten up and gotten changed without worrying about his partner trying to peek at his boxers or anything. "I-I just wanted to get changed..." He replied, turning a bit to look at his partner. He wasn't sure if Demyx would have been able to get the blood out of his clothes, but it made him feel a little lightheaded thinking about it. Between that and the lingering pain and weakness from the day before, he decided it would be best to flop back over on his side to lie down for a couple minutes before attempting to get up.

"Well then why didn't ya wake me up? Yer not gonna make it ta the dresser." He stretched and got up off his bed. "Want yer pjs'? Cause i'm not lettin ya out of bed tha rest of the day."

"What do you mean?" Kaleb exclaimed, trying hard to keep himself from looking over at his partner so he didn't jarr his healing body too badly. "I-I really need to get some work done today!"

"Ya can read but yer not getting up. Yer still hurt." He stretched and headed over to dig Kaleb out a pair of pajamas. Feeling his cheeks turn pink he realized that with the blood from his second tail that he'd probably need new boxers too.
