For babysitting my niece and nephew on Saturday (and a couple times before that) my friend bought me tons of yarn. biggrin I'm still so excited about it too. I already made one scarf, the rest are going to be scarf/fingerless mitten sets I think. Hurray for yarn!

It's going awesomely. With the first two skeins of yarn (they're the same type and color) I made a pair of fingerless gloves, a scarf, and a cowl, I just have to add the buttons to the last so I can wear it. I haven't touched the other yarn she gave me though because I got sidetracked by other projects random number.

Thanks! It took me a while to get so that I was any semblance of "good" at it, but my perseverance has paid off (at least I like to think so). I don't knit quite as often as I used to though, because I have taken up spinning my own yarn, too. biggrin Don't have a wheel as I can't afford one (though I would like one eventually) so I've been doing on a drop spindle. I must say, it's rather addicting too. Though I have to remember to put everything away even if I leave the room for a moment; my feral cat thinks wool top (the stuff I spin with) is catnip. He goes nuts for the stuff.

Omg you are spinning your own yarn? Wow, now that is dedication to a craft. I once found some nice wool in a fence in Wales...but then I lost it somewhere.

So I finally had to put down the fancy pants lace shawl I'm working on because my hand started to hurt. I couldn't figure out why either, as normally my hand doesn't start to hurt until I have more done (like miles instead of the inches I got done on the shawl). Then I realized I'm using hella thin yarn when I'm used to a more medium yarn, and I have easily knit hundreds of stitches today alone. No wonder my hand aches random number.
