All right. If anyone wants to state an opinion, please PM me or IM me about it. I might just make the first move and IM you if you are on to discuss things. I'm very upset that people in this game are supposedly afraid to come forth with their complaints for fear of IC consequences. There are no consequences for stating an opinion except for the possibility of being given an argument.

Opposing arguments to given accusations:

Dreamwhisper has too many/ powerful characters: She plays Anthy and a Student Council member, as well as a wild card character and the school b***h. As long as you regularly post all your characters, you can keep as many as you like. Anyone is able to set up a character with social influence, or make characters with captainships or connections. I play Akio and Issac, as well as two other characters and NPCs. No one seems to have issues with this.

There is a bias against certain characters: The certain characters named have a widely unlikeable nature and the tendency to get themselves in trouble. When rolling the punishment die, there's the choice of having an SC member deliver punishment, which is more fun roleplay, which is why Rachel delivers punishments in person sometimes. IC actions= IC consequences, an unlikeable character is often targeted for dislike.

Americanization: It's to be expected in a game played by Americans. Sure, we can research Dutch drink mixes, but it's not too hard to believe that Kool-Aid exists over there when Coca Cola and McDonalds have formed a world-wide empire. Also, some characters have been in the states for a few years and picked up on culture. Rachel's been there for a year.

Lack of response: Hard to respond when you don't make a complaint. If you've spoken to her and she doesn't seem chatty, it's because she's not, and prefers to keep conversation quick and to the point.

Anthy has too much power: There's really not much I can say to this. The fact that it's been brought up is still astonishing. She keeps the Sword of Dios, she expertly manipulates everyone, is the power behind the throne, so to speak, can create illusions and mind-control spells, wipes memory, switches bodies, and helps plot the Duels. She is a powerful character, and this is why she gets semi-NPC status and is played by a mod, a more permanent member of the team and less likely to drop the game. also, it makes it easier to give background and weaknesses and make intricate plots without worrying about IC interest subtly affecting performance.


Any other problems can be PMed me. Keep in mind that we all have peeves about the playing style of others, and that some things can be brushed aside easily.

Green room... makes me think. If our characters are just actors, playing character roles in the bigger scheme of things...

Charlie actually has an off-the-set relationship with Maarten. "Hey, I'm not really a lesbian. I just play one."

And Dorian doesn't really smoke, so she complains daily that she's "not getting paid enough to contract lung cancer!"

I was thinking Karel is more along the lines of a "Baby Herman" from Roger Rabbit. A middle-aged, cigar-smoking guy who happens to look like a little kid "My problem is I got a 50 year old's lust and a 3 year old's dinky." While filming "in character" he speaks cute suggary sayings in a soft hearted voice; off-camera, he has a loud, gruff voice.

Maarten actually hates soccer and knows nothing of the sport. He sucks at it too and the director constantly has to get in the stunt-double to come in and kick the ball so it'll actually go into the next.

I got the idea from a friend who did this with her own characters in an Elfquest club, and the old Loony Toons cartoon with the sheepdog and Wile . Coyote punching time cards at the start and the end of the day.
