Yerinae Desrani

What is power? It is a right.
A right to use what you have.

Yerinae narrowed her eyes as the rupture emerged through the wall, her footing nearly faltering as she struggled to maintain her balance. Still she stood, as resolute as ever despite the immense flames wrapping about her. Beneath them however, both defensive and restorative weaves of Spirit enshrouded her, allowing a more flamelike appearance to the spectacle just beyond. "Well, he is my brother," she said simply, "And you have no mercy in yours. I fail to see the difference, considering I hear your sister can be raised yet."

She flung an arm to the side, drawing away what power had been hurled her way and dispelling her own. Her eyes remained focused, but open. No sign of anger appeared in them, however disappointed they betrayed her to be.

But what is courage? That is a responsibility.
The responsibility to use it well.

"At least you can defend yourself!" Izaelah shouted, fury growing. More flames erupted from her as well as another shriek, her voice going hoarse at the end, cutting off. The woman drew her hands together though before throwing them apart, nearly invisible ripples of darkness flowing towards her opponent.

Yerinae simply reached out a hand to the oncoming flames, funneling them into a point with a weave of Spirit. Her eyes never left Izaelah, save for a moment where she looked to Lyrandis' rising figure against the wall.

"You choose to take aggression, Izaelah. That's your own fault. It's my own fault for standing up for someone who not only am I ashamed of, but is ashamed of himself." She lowered her hand and immediately realized her mistake as the darkness overcame her, to which she staggered slightly. "And yet, you focus your aggression on me for my defense of my brother. Meanwhile he refuses to defend himself and I can't help but wonder, why choose me over him to vent your rage to?"

But what is courage? That is a responsibility.
The responsibility to use it well.

"Would you rather I kill him?" Izaelah hissed, eyes flashing. She seemed to debate something for a moment before she whirled around, spinning discs flying from her sleeves, shiny bursts of silver as they flew towards Lyrandis. They were followed by more shadow flame before Izaelah dropped to a crouch, looking back and forth to Lyrandis and his sister.

Forever I live in the shadow

In the brief moment between the launching and would-be impact of the discs Izaelah launched at Lyrandis, first his hand came up, then his eyes solidified as a web of Spirit intercepted the series of attacks, rendering each harmless on him. "You're welcome to try, Izaelah." he said calmly, "But sooner or later you'll realize that contrary to with Isobel, I have no particular reason to act against you. Why do you think I haven't struck back?"

Yerinae's eyes widened slightly, and she took a step back from them. She finally caught on to Lyrandis' whole point, the entire reason he fell into what he had in the first place, but at the same time she was confused - and it showed quite plainly on her face.

"I commend your tenacity in avenging your sister, but at this rate not only will you fail to succeed but you may wind up harming yourself in the process. If you don't have it in you to be rational then at least take what you do have and go." Lyrandis said sternly, not backing down in the slightest. "The choice is yours alone. I can't make it for you."

His war has become as my own;
His legacy will not go unfinished.

Izaelah whimpered, her eyes growing wide for a moment as she seemed to relax. Then, she uttered a shriek louder than she had before and rushed at Lyrandis, black fire rolling about her in an arch to her front as she lept at the man.

"Do not underestimate me!" She screamed, hurling bolt after bolt at Lyrandis, seeming to roll off of her arms.

Lyrandis devoted the entirety of his attention to his defensive, the barrier surrounding him seeming only to strengthen under the Demon's consistent barrage. Even though he gritted his teeth and began to slide back under the force of her blows, he did not relent.

"It's not the power he's underestimating..." Yerinae observed aloud, silently hoping Izaelah could hear her. "It's resolve. Izaelah, stop. Look him in the eye..."

The glare in Lyrandis' eyes was cut short at her comment however, replaced by a genuine amazement and slight fear. Still he kept his defensive going, the largely-transparent red hue of the barrier flickering continually with color. He had played his cards and lost, and yet without any reason to whatsoever, Yerinae had stood for him when he otherwise more than likely would have failed. The look in his eyes betrayed the question almost as readily as if it were uttered; why?

His war has become as my own;
His legacy will not go unfinished.

Izaelah hissed, glaring at Yerinae. "And you. Would you not take revenge if your brother was killed?" She asked, phasing forwards so she was right in front of Yerinae. She was about to pull a dagger from her sleeve when a burst of light enveloped her and Madigan and Moriana held the demon by her elbows, Madigan's hand clamped over her mouth.

"Whoops, someone let the lion out of the cave." Madigan said with a grin, looking over at Moriana.

"I wonder who that could be!" Moriana giggled, her eyes looking around. "Isobel won't be gone for too long, you silly child, stop playing with what would have been her food."

"I don't know why that vampire didn't stick around. He should have been jealous, the way she acted." Madigan tsked while he shook his head.

Yerinae hopped back at Izaelah's unexpected approach, but did not appear as though to take a defensive until the others had arrived. To her surprise however, they appeared more restraining than provoking, which in turn led her to suspect there was more going on here than she had figured. Her eyes narrowed at each of them - including her own brother. "To answer your question it would depend on whether my brother was being an idiot or not." she said informatively, turning a stare to Madigan and Moriana. "But then again, he's always accused me of judging too harshly."

But what is courage? That is a responsibility.
The responsibility to use it well.

"Being an idiot? Oh yes." Madigan said casting a glance at Moriana.

"He was indeed, stupid boy, taking on Isobel. Honorless too. I wouldn't kill anyone while bedding with them." Moriana said. Madigan arched his eyebrows.

"You wouldn't?" He asked.

"No." She said with a smile.

"Are you sure?" Madigan twisted Izaelah's arm as she tried to wrestle herself free.

"Well...not intentionally..." Moriana said in thought.

"Let me go!" Izaelah protested, squirming. Madigan tsked.

"You know the rules Izaelah. Getting yourself killed will just banish your sister again and quite frankly we don't feel like piecing you both back together again." Moriana explained roughly.

Yerinae shook her head slightly, looking over to her brother. "Lyrandis, go on home. You have enough to deal with even without my reprimands."

Lyrandis narrowed his eyes at Yerinae but after a while, stepped out. Yerinae looked over to Madigan and Moriana, nodding the slightest bit as her eyes hardened to match her frown. "Let her go," she said calmly, "I promise no harm to her, so long as my life is not in immediate jeopardy."

But what is courage? That is a responsibility.

"Seems we have more than one idiot." Moriana said in a murmur to Madigan as she leaned towards him. Madigan rolled his eyes and chided her gently. Izaelah hissed at Moriana and she drew back.

"She'll kill you, you know." He said simply. "And as such, we'll keep her safe for you."

Moriana giggled and kissed the side of Izaelah's head. "Silly little girl." She said sweetly.

"You think I'm afraid?" Yerinae asked, almost defiantly. "I laugh death in the face, and I intend to die laughing. There's no sense trying to reason with a forcibly restrained individual, and to be fair I can make my own way out if I need. Let her be."
She stepped back to the wall, leaning half-casually against it and watching Izaelah's eyes the whole time. "Besides, I don't think she has any particular quarrel with me, considering I did none of her family any wrongdoing. I might be wrong though."

But what is courage? That is a responsibility.

Madigan and Moriana narrowed their eyes and arched their eyebrows simultaneously.

"Well it isn't as if we didn't tell you-" Madigan began.

"-We certainly warned you." Moriana finished, but she seemed to be talking to the steadily enraging Izaelah. Madigan let go while Moriana gathered energy in her hand, and Izaelah was shoved into a cosmic rift once it was created. Madigan and Moriana crossed their arms and looked at Yerinae with slight disapproval on their faces.

"You are a fool. And not a very bright one I might add. Obviously you've never looked into your sin research." Madigan said while Moriana shoved him softly.

"Funny you should bring that up," Yerinae countered, leaning off the wall with a hand flitted in front of her, "considering I was in every position to make myself less a fool on the matter through inquisition, but courtesy of the two of you I can't do much about it anymore."
She sighed, shaking her head slowly as it dropped. A small weave of Spirit ran along her right arm and she welled it into herself as she forcibly calmed herself. "Almost as if I'm being led into a trap..." she realized aloud, looking up at the others, "Why didn't you let her do as she wanted? What possible purpose do you have in keeping me from her?"

But what is courage? That is a responsibility.
The responsibility to use it well.
