Sir Benton was in the middle of a dream where he was king over all lionesses of pride lands and they were all fawning over him when he was nudged out of the crown and into reality. With a groan he covered his eyes with his paws, "5 more m-" He cut himself off and replayed in his mind the voice and words that had followed his awakening. He shot up and looked around, "What? Time? It's time? Like.. Time time? I didn't.. Alright, that's fine... Lay down, my love... Please" In all honesty, Benton had no idea what he was doing, but he wasn't about to let Anastacia know that.

"Benton!" She gave a deep throated growl and bite him on the ear hard. "Listen to me and stop dreaming about other lionesses!" Anastacia gave a deep throated warning growl. Even though her love was mated, she knew that he still dreamed of others...not his fault..just the way he was. Atleast that's what she thought. Wincing gently, she growled again. "Benton...I think its time for the cubs to be born! Remember? Your children?!" She almost screamed the last part, the pain becoming intense. "OW ow ow..." She managed to walk over to another part of the den and settle down upon her side, head resting on her forepaws, her breaths becoming labored.

Benton winced a little and grinned sheepishly. "I.. Umm.." The time for reasoning with her and making her understand was not now. "The cubs! Now? So soon.. Alright!" Mixed emotions of fear and joy ran together to transform Benton from cool, calm and collected to a bumbling, nervous idiot. "What do I do?" He asked as he nuzzled her softly, trying to distract her from her pain.

"I...I don't know. AH!" She growled flinging her head back in back. "Benton, the cubs!" She buried her head into his maned neck, her claws digging into the dirt as she began to push. The cubs wanted to greet the new world.
The first cub, a snow white female with red and black legs, greeted the world with a shrill cry. Her eyes were tightly shut as she plopped against the floor. She mewed loudly searching for warmth. The new mother immediately took her cub careully to her side and gently bathed her in a warm tongue. After a moment, the white cub calmed purring gently against her mother. Ana panted for a moment before the second came.
After much more pushing then anticipated, the black female practically bursted forth from her mother. She tumbled gently, expression was one of anger. She began hissing and snarling. Once calm, however, she began searching for warmth. Anastacia gently picked up her fiesty daughter and bathed her clean. The black cub began to growl in protest not exactly appreciating the help. Soon, the young cub began to doze beside her white sister.
Anastacia sighed gently, her head resting on her forepaws. The birth was painful, but well worth it. She looked over her children. "Benton...they're beautiful...they have so much of you!" She exclaimed quietly and gave a gentle smile, not noticing that her children had one tail feather...like herself. She looked up at her mate, happy about the new additions into the world.

Throughout the whole process, he wasn't sure what to do. Each time the cubs came, his head popped up and he grinned, and chuckled a little when the second, black female started hissing. "They're both quite fiesty.. They have so much of you!" Benton laid on the front side of Anastacia so the cubs were kept between them, and very warm. Giving his mate a nuzzle and a lick to her nose he smiled, "Ana, they're so beautiful.. You should get some rest. We can name them when you awake."

She gave a gentle nod, her eyelids slowly growing heavy. Yawning gently, she settled her head upon her forepaws and drifted off to sleep, her tail curled around her cubs protectively.
The black female gave a gentle hiss scootching closer for warmth. Her brow furrowed when the cold still struck her tiny body. Mewing loudly, she managed to get beside her father, seeming to disappear against his matching coat. Her tail flicked gently as she slowly began to calm.

The whiteness of the eldest daughter made him snap back into the world around him. Looking around frantically without getting up, trying to find his adopted daughter. Seeing the pale white cub curled up in the corner asleep. Did she seriously sleep through the whole thing? Wow... Feeling a little cold ball of fluff curling up to him, he smiled and gave her ate lick on the forehead, trying to keep her warm without crushing her. There it was, the feeling and pride of a father.
The white cub stretched out her black and dark cherry limbs and waved her tail yawning loudly. She tried to seek warmth from her sleeping mother, nuzzling her with no reply. In a little bit of a fret she started mewing and headed towards her sister, scooching along until she got to her destination and curled up with her sister and father, calming down. She could not see, but she could smell she was where she wanted to be.

Phaedra wandered off curiously wrought as always...exploring things as usual. Her tail swayed side to side as she sniffed at the ground. Her crimson orbs gleaming, she wondered what was going on she sensed something was going on but didn't know what. She padded out to where she had last seen Benton he wasn't there. She huffed hastily as she called out not even thinking of going to check dens or local sunning rocks.

Benton heard the calling of his eldest daughter and was now put in his first real hard situation. Call out to her, and wake up the three lionesses he was guarding and keeping warm or let her get lost and scared... No competition. Leaning his neck towards the mouth of the cave, without getting up he roared out a responce for Phae to follow back. The roar echoed through the cave a little and he winced as he looked towards those affected.
The white cub mewed a responce and cuddled into the familiarity of her sister and the warmth source. She didn't like the loud noise, but she was too tired to fuss much over it and passed back out.

Phaedra's ears flickered and she followed father's echo back to the den. She chuffed as she entered and then stopped dead in her tracks...she knew mother was pregnant but she didn't know they would come so soon. She didn't think she'd be left out because they were born, she trusted her parents to much for that to happen. She purred as she came to Benton.

Benton grinned and reached around to give his grown daughter a little nuzzle. He spoke to her at a whisper, "Phae, look... These are your little sisters. We're not sure what we're going to name them yet. We'll figure that out as soon as your mother wakes back up. You want to help us name them?" Sure, she wasn't blood, but she was close enough. And Benton wanted to make sure that she felt included every step of the way on her new sisters comming to Gaia.

Phaedra looked to him, "Yeah!" she replied excitedly and then shrunk down as she thought she might have awaken her dear little sisters. They were so cute. She looked to him wondering if it was alright for her to go and look at them at a closer range.

Seeing her excitement, and taking the fact that she actually spoke, caused Benton's grin to grow even more. He'd be paying for it later, his cheeks were gonna huuurt... But it was well worth it. "Good, you can go ahead and climb on me and see them, just be careful and be quiet, okay?" He didn't want to baby her, but it just came out before he could think about it. "They havn't even open their eyes yet.."

Her slightly bigger body climbed a top of father. She was small and colored like her birth mother, with the markings of her birth father. She had forgoten them both, appearences and personalities. She nodded and looked to the cubs, and smiled. "Do you think thats what I looked like when I was born with my old mommy?" she asked in a whisper, so innocent and child like.

"Oh most deffenatly.." He said with an affirmative nod, secretly dieing a little inside. It was a shame the things this little one had been put through in her life. But now she was going to be a lot better off with Benton and Anastacia. He just had to keep reminding himself of that. "You were a cute kitten, and you still are a cute cub, sweetpea."
