OK EVERYONE!

They are beta testing the new Marketplace. It has a lot of neat features, but there is a major drawback if you want to make gold.

There is a 2% fee on the price of the item when it sells. So, basically you lose 20gp for every 1000gp of the price. Now, it might not sound so bad right now.

Until you realize most of the items one deals with tend to be 30,000gp-120,000gp. 600gp-2400gp will be lost because of this.

I'm not sure how this will affect Marketplace prices. For the cheap items, like the Whips, the Gauntlets, the Scars, the Lunar Cloaks and Dark Halos this isn't very much. But some of the fast moving items that are pricey will end up with some rocky prices at first.

Because of this, I'm selling out all large inventory. I've managed to get rid of it all save a couple of Katanas. I will continue to deal in the smaller items, but for now anything bigger than a Dark Halo I won't buy cause I'd hate to do so and see the price bomb.

If anyone decides they want out, now is a good time to do it while the money is coming. I will divide up the profit once I sell out completely and see what everyone wants to do, so response from all...er... 'Zeddvestors' will be nice on what they want done with their share.

While I will not raise a stein (wtf is a stein!?), nor will I hail jer, but I will agree that I trust his judgement and will continue to put my support behind him. ~gives Jer umar's credit card~

Alright. I'll keep it going then, but with smaller items. I don't know when they plan to put the new version into effect, so I'll keep any items I buy around 70k or less so if they do surprise it on me it shouldn't impact the prices too much.

It's the larger stuff I was worrying about. Katanas, Norisus, OMFGs and the such like that. Usually I'm only making 1000-3000 per item and a 2000+ hit on those items would make it unfeasible to work with them.

I should be able to keep it rolling for a bit yet. So I'll just keep going.

You mean you don't like the newbie clothes? heheh. I was going to toss on the camo cap and the sledgehammer but figured I shouldn't mess around with the mule too much. I've been cautious of where I log in with it and don't log in on my work breaks. I'm also being a bit slow on the purchasing since this beta is around and it's shaking things up. Maybe I'm too cautious, but within about 10 minutes of buying I made about 5000gp for the it.

I've been toying with the beta setup, and I have to admit I really like it. I like the bar graphs. I like the preview button for anything there.

I'll just have to remember to watch my markups so I don't get taxed out of a profit, heheh. But the goldsink idea doesn't bother me.

I haven't put anything up for sale there yet, as not too many people can enter the beta test. Prices haven't gone up too much either since the beta opening.


However, the beta does the occasional new item leak. I've seen a couple items that I bet are coming out for this Summer Waterfight Event!

And this 2% thing is really putting knots in people's panties in the site feedback and community discussion forums! I've been checking those out since it's so slow at work and dear god there are a lot of whiners on Gaia.

It's going to put a kink in my undies too a bit until I find a good balance for compensation of the fee, but it won't be that noticable that I have to whine like a newborn babe. If everything goes as it should, maybe item prices will even decrease so that an item I was buying a month ago for 80,000gp is no longer 120,000gp or higher.

Ethan, you know me well enough to realize I rant incoherently when I'm bored, depressed, angry or bored.

Boredom takes its toll on my intelligence for the day if it sets in long enough.


And I still think I look like I'm spattered in gore.

Wow, things are really picking up again in the marketplace.

I had all three accounts with a few items yesterday and they all sold save the one on Zedd! I've restocked all three accounts with three more items each and they are currently the lowest in the marketplace after a modest markup.

Guess people are trying to get their stuff before the fee becomes permanent. not that I mind right now heheheh.

I'll probably have an update end of tomorrow to let people know how it's going and see if it's worth dividing the plunder yet.

Sure do, I have a CPS 4000 in pristine condition (found it brand new in a shop earlier this year strangely enough)
