Luka wanted to run to him. She wanted to hold him and somehow stop the pain. She also remebered the stories of people who had died trying to help aa turning werewolf and she slid back a few more inches. "Come on boy you can work through this."

Hair was appearing on his body and his back was bending in an odd way. His appendages shifted and Connor groaned. He'd been forced to close his eyes again. A final cry of pain escaped him and then all feeling stopped.

Luka's eyes widened. It was really happening. She had turned someone. This was all her doing. In some way, no matter what happened between them, he would always be partially hers. It was almost over now, the silence in the clearning was pounding in her ears.

Somehow he managed to open his eyes again and two paws rather than to hands were in front of him. He gazed at these for a moment and then stared at Luka.

Luka hesitantly crawled toward him. "Hey babe. You okay? Can you hear me and move and all that?"

"Don't wanna move," Connor groaned, surprised at how much like a growl his voice sounded. But he made an attempt to stand, anyway, futile though it was.

Luka put her hand on Connor. "Calm down boy. Just cause you look like a wolf doesn't necessarily mean that your body's done with you yet."
She suddenly noticed the feeling of his fur under her hand. She had to resist the urge to burry her fingers in deeper.

Connor just took Luka's word for it and plopped back down onto the ground.
"How long do I have to stay like this?" he asked.

Luka laughed and ruffled his fur. "I don't see why you have a problem with this. You're adorable."

"Thanks a lot," he mumbled. "Really." The sarcasm was dripping from his voice as he curled up tight. "I'm so tired but... I feel so warm..." Connor closed his eyes. "It's... nice..."

This time, Luka let her fingers sink deep into his fur, slowly massaging him with her fingers. "And you were dreading this."

"Mmm... that's nice..." he sighed under Luka's careful massaging. He stretched his appendage out and this time there was no pain. It all felt soothing and wonderful. Again he sighed and rolled onto his back. Something told him that having his belly rubbed would be even better.

Luka laughed again and gave Connor a very thorough scratching. She suddenly disappeared into the trees and quickly came back as a wolf. She bounded towards Connor, licked his face and then bounded to the other side of the clearing. She stopped at the trees and looked back at Connor, tail wagging.

Somehow seeing Luka as a wolf excited him. Connor rolled to his feet and carefully stood up. When he didn't collapse immediately, he started to run... and promptly tripped on his own paws. He rose with a great deal of swearing and plodded towards her again, this time at a much slower pace. Once he reached her his tail wagged but he hung his head in embarrassment.

Luka smiled, licked Connor's face and then bolted into the trees.
