She shivered slightly, his touch doing odd things to her. Uncertain, she clung to her pride. That, at least, she understood and had protected her from embarrassments in the past.
"I'm an adult. It's not that big a deal, Zakiel. I'm sure it happened to you, too. It's called growing up."

He shook his head, unable to find his voice. It is a larger event than you think. I can now claim you...and admittedly there is a whole new set of feelings for me to adapt to. A dark beast inside that demands I take you for my own and find the shelter in you that I have been so long denied... His head bent down to hers, lips hovering over hers as if he was waiting for permission. Crimson Dawn...I am no saint...and I cannot be a mountain of control forever... His voice was sad as it shimmered in his mind, Please...

She trembled slightly, trying to make sense of the feelings and sensations that were warring inside her at the moment. She liked having him so close, though it still scared her a bit. There was no doubt in her mind that he was dangerous. Quite possibly more so than he had been the night before, when her age had kept him in check. On the one hoof, she wanted to run for the hills. On the other, her heart went out to the obvious stress he was under and wanted to make things easier for him. Ironically, that only strengthened the desire to run.
But, Crimson Dawn had never been one to run away from anything. Not a problem, not fears, and certainly not this... unusual... pony in front of her.
"Okay," she murmured. Belatedly, she wondered what she'd agreed to.

Trembling with the effort it was taking to keep himself in check, Zakiel allowed his mouth to meet hers. One hoof strayed her silky mane, and he swore he felt the earth move beneath him. Just one kiss and he was reeling and wanting more. Can you feel as I feel now?

She leaned heavily into his embrace, feeling her knees go weak. A distant part of her mind was appalled that she was allowing him to make her feel like a weak willed female. The majority was telling that small part to shut up and enjoy the ride.
What are you doing to me?

He wrapped his strong arms around her to hold her up, and to steady himself. Simply kissing my lifemate. The draw of lifemates is strong...and I am told that it increases with age. If that is the case, I am sure that I will not survive tonight. He nipped at her lower lip before kissing her again. He was doing his best to move slowly, to stay in control, and the effort showed as his brow beaded with blood.

You... mean this will get more... more... intense? She almost whimpered at the thought, though the very idea sent another thrill through her. With a mix of impulsiveness and curiosity, she tried returning the kiss, nipping lightly at his lips in an imitation of what he had just done.

He pulled her closer and kissed back furiously. She was so soft and warm...he wanted to crawl up inside of her and never come out. I am beginning to think that we should make our way back to my chambers...I could better address our needs there.

"Su...sustenance?" Yeah, she was still a bit fuzzy from those kisses. Being alone, possibly not the best idea. Being alone with him, possibly a worse idea. "I'll go with you."

He nodded and shifted into a wolf, lopping through the woods at a deadly pace. Another half mile ahead... He sniffed the air and sent his senses flaring out. Female. Adult. Alone. Easy.

She followed after him, carefully. Vaguely, she remembered Korina hunting. She always went after small prey, which made Crimson Dawn wonder what Zakiel was hunting.
