You seem ready. I was wondering why it was taking you so long.
The voice spoke out from under Morana. Her own reflection was there, though, after a moment it shimmered and grew to that of a Houndoom.
Well, then... Don't regret this. You'll never be quite the same again, after all.
The reflection broke free of it's owner and tipped it's snout to the floor. A small ember attack splashed against the floor where the paws of both the reflection and original met. The ground glowed warmly under her paws.
And then they broke through. The flames emerged from the floor and coiled up her leg, changing it's shape and size as they went.
It was only a few moments before her shape and size had changed fully.
Not bad. Good luck, young miss.
If Morana looked down as the flames unwrapped themselves, she would see the hazy reflection of a Houndour for just a moment.

Morana && Incultyr

She stared down wide-eyed at her reflection, her ears prickling at the sound of the voice. She didn't seem to hear it so much as feel it. She kept still as the fire came up around her paws, a wonderful feeling of excitement rushing up through her. She allowed the fire to crawl up her fur, welcomed it as she felt herself change.

When things finally died down, she thought she caught a brief glimpse of a Houndour before she saw her own reflection staring back out at her from the walls of the chamber. One paw came up, shaking, to touch the skull necklace around her throat. Her thin tail waved back and forth lazily, much longer, much more flexible, than she was used to. Her ears were no longer visible, and a pair of large white horns sat on her head instead. The bones no longer showed a pink tinge, a sign in her family of reaching adulthood.

"Thank you." She whispered to the chamber, getting to her feet. She was taller, larger. Not as big a Houndoom as was normal, but she had expected as much, being so young. She only hoped that she would continue growing until she reached her full size in adulthood one day. She turned around and left the chamber.

"You look great Anna." Incultyr told his partner as the two of them headed back towards their room. Morana smiled.

- Gypsy -

Gypsy was amazed the moment she stepped paw in the cavern. There were hundreds of crystals hanging from the ceiling, one of every color imaginable. Their shiny exterior reflected Gypsy's awe-struck face from many angles. The place was so pretty, she could stay here forever. Which to her, was as long as her attention span would hold.

She wasn't nervous at all, really. It sucked being small and weak. A new body would not only make her stronger, but it would make her feel more confident. Ready to face the world and all the dangers that lay with it. And with a home as prone to danger as the Guild of the Sun was, she would need every ounce of strength possible to protect everyone.

The next question was, what would she look like? With her extensive family history spanning many generations and many species, the possibilities were endless. Obviously, she would be a Ninetails, but what other features and abilities would she have? Maybe a Luxray's power, like her father. She already had the electricity conductors on the end of her tails to prove it. It would be nice to be able to shock things without getting hurt yourself. Plus, looking like a Luxray would just be cool.

That was enough, she would just get it over with and have to see. Little did she know she would not look at all like her father. Dropping the stone, she called, "Uh... hellooooo?" It echoed back to her many times before fading away into the background. "I want to evolve, please!"

"Hey, that's not fair!"
The young, high-pitched voice sounded from behind Gypsy as a Vulpix tumbled into the room.
"Oh yeah? here's some more!"
A Shinx came in behind her, pouncing on top of her playfully. The two traded small bits of fire and electricity playfully, giggling all the while.
The Vulpix managed to work her way from under the Shinx's grasp and managed to reverse the situation, leaving the Shinx on her back.
If Gypsy reached out to touch them, her hand would go through them and her voice would be ignored.
The two children would continue bounding throughout the room, giggling happily and trading playful blows.
However, the little bits of electricity and fire that they used wouldn't dissipate.
As the two covered more and more of the room, the flames and electricity would seem to simply "sit" on the floor.
When the two had finally exhausted themselves (an event which did not take long at their pace) they would finally stop at the entrance.
They spoke and moved in perfect unison, waving one paw each in a "good bye" to Gypsy.
"G'bye miss! We had fun. We hope you will too!"
With that, they would bound out of the room. The sparks and fire would surge towards the middle, wrapping around her and birthing her new form.

- Gypsy -

Oh hey, another Vulpix, and a Shinx too! Did they come to evolve as well? More company was always better. Gypsy called out a friendly remark, but the didn't respond or even notice she was there. It... it looked like they were having a lot of fun, maybe she should join them? No, she was here for one purpose only, to become a Ninetails.

She overturned the rock and crouched down to examine it. Was it defective? It hadn't done anything but attract two annoying children who were leaving fire and electricity all over the ground. But that wasn't normal, right? Gypsy's eyes followed them suspiciously around the room as they played, avoiding the elements they scattered on the ground. But the children soon grew tired and exited the room, saying goodbye as if they never ignored her. "Bye." She said dully, sighing as she pawed at the stone once more.

The fire and electricity flowed into an unsuspecting Gypsy. It seemed as though electricity still hurt her after all... And the fire... it was too warm. She felt like shaking a cane at the old children telling them to get off her lawn, but the fire was engulfing her, and slithering around her small body. It was warm... much warmer than any fire she had ever felt before. She panicked, but calmed down when she saw the stone lose it's color. She was evolving. She didn't feel pain, but the warmth was rather uncomfortable.

The evolution was overall short, which pleased Gypsy. She had places to go and things to see. She spied a clear reflection of her in a crystal just next to her, and was startled for a minute when she saw her mother, a Ninetails with traits of a Leafeon. She turned around, expecting the ghost once again, but it was just her. She had turned into the splitting image of her mother, and could probably use her moves too. She tried firing some razor leaves just like her mother had done, but ended up only shooting a bolt of electricity, which hurt. Still.

Gypsy didn't like this new form of hers. Yes, it was stronger. Yes, it was taller, and yes, she didn't feel like a child anymore. But she was not okay with looking like her mother, the very reason she came to the guilds in the first place. Could she de-evolve maybe? She would stay in her previous form forever if it meant she could feel like herself. No. She couldn't She had to remember the reason why she was in here. To become stronger. And she certainly was. "Thank you." Thank Arceus, at least she didn't sound like her mother. She took a relaxing breath as she began the trek back to the guild.

Sarge

Trot trot trot went the proud Vulpix!
The cute little foxy walked right into the Crystal Chamber, a Fire Stone locked in his jaws.
He was so excited, he was going to be the first Pokemon in his team to evolve!
Sarge stood in the middle of the chamber, glancing around.
Dang, this place was kinda spooky.
He lowered his head and placed the Fire Stone on the ground, resting his paw on top of it.
"I'd like to evolve so I can become buff and strong and stuff!" He announced to nobody.

The Fire Stone's colour drained into the floor.
And then, nothing. At least not for a few moments.
The stillness of the room was broken by a bright red glare from the ceiling that left the Vulpix temporarily blinded.
Loud, pulsing music came out of nowhere and when Sarge opened his eyes he was surrounded by pokemon of all shapes and types. The ground under him flashed different colours.
The roar of the music and the step of the crowd was almost deafening, but it was just the right song to dance to. A hard, fast beat made for dancing but one that was slow enough that the Vulpix could step into it and find his own rhythm.
"Hey hey, everyone! This is DJ Loudred here and I just gotta say, you're all on fire! Let's kick it up another notch! Let's make this a night to remember!"
The music swelled and the crowd began to dance wildly, sending the small Vulpix around the room.
"Hey, hey! This kid's pretty good! You've got some hot moves!"
And, after a moment, the saying became quite literal. The flashing floor below him began to lose some of it's colour as it wound up each paw.
The first thing to change was his tail. The fluffy mane and hair sprouted next, and then his body began to grow with each step and each loud, pulsing beat.
A few moments after Sarge reached his full size, the room suddenly went pitch black.
When it lit back up, it was back to it's normal, quiet and empty self.
Well, empty except for a certain now-Ninetails.

Sarge

It was safe to say that after that whole ordeal, poor Sarge was dizzy and confused as a ******** hid his face in his huge, poofy tails.
"I give up! Too much! Forget evolving!" He cried.
The Fire type then noticed something.
Huge, poofy tails?
Sarge lifted his had and looked at his tails, giving a gasp.
He had nine of them!
And they were so fluffy!
The new Ninetails walked over to a large crystal, looking at his reflection in it.
He looked like a normal black Ninetails, but he couldn't help notice something he loved.
His hair was so long and gorgeous.
"... I-I'm beautiful...~" He purred softly, even blushing a bit.
If Sarge had a clone, he'd be falling head over heels for it.
He stood up, admiring his new slender body.
He'd evolved wanting to be buff, but ended up obtaining grace and beauty instead.
Hey, he could live with it~
Smiling and bowing his head to the chamber, the Ninetails trotted off.

Incultyr

A certain Larvitar stomped into the room. His hands were balled into fists at his side, his teeth gritted together as he steeled himself for what he was about to do.

He had been ready to evolve long ago. He knew this. He had always been powerful enough. He had felt the insistent tug of evolution but he had shirked away.

He knew what would happen the moment he allowed it to take him. When he evolved, unlike becoming stronger as with many other species, he would become powerless and helpless for many months.

But what he had just wasn't enough anymore. He couldn't keep up with all these attacks, couldn't protect his teammates -couldn't protect Morana- as a Larvitar.

So Incultyr walked into the middle of the chamber, gathered his courage and announced:

"Evolve me, now."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 24, 2011 6:42 pm

If one listened closely, they might have heard a faint voice commenting on how rude this particular Larvitar was. But Larvitar didn't seem to have ears, so, yeah...
Anyways, in the corners of the room around Incultyr, many of the rocks began to crumble into sand. After a few moments, there was four piles of sand. A wind blew into the room toward the four piles, a vortex beginning to form in each one. The velocity of the wind grew in each pile and lifted the sand. Before long, there was four swirling vortexes of sand in the room. They began to revolve around the Larvitar, moving closer and closer to him. They each stopped about a meter away from him before they rushed toward the center, slamming into Incultyr. The Larvitar was buried in a large pile of sand. Another gust of wind blew through the room, revealing a Pupitar where the Larvitar once stood.

The Larvitar stood unflinching as the inside of the Crystal Chamber practically became a sandstorm. He could feel his shell hardening, encasing him and he stopped himself from fighting against it. Finally the sand died down and he found himself fully encased in a hard armoured shell.

And then he tipped over.

Goddamnit how do you move.

He gets out of there eventually with the weird air-jet travel thing Pupitars use.

Alice

Alice entered the chamber with little hesitance at all. She'd never gone here before. It wasn't scary, but interesting and exciting. Something did poke at the back of her mind heeding caution though...
It didn't matter. This form was small and she couldn't do much-- not that she was a good psychic anyway, but she'd grown bored of it after 25 years. It was about time for a change.

With that, the pink haired Ralts looked about, as if searching for someone... How did this work? "Hello? I'd like to evolve please!" She announced into the open before falling completely silent, waiting.
Okay, maybe this was a bit more stressful than she imagined.

The room itself began to shine brightly in response to her request.
The crystal lit up and swelled with a massive, sourceless energy as bright as the sun.
But then, quite suddenly, a small bubble.
It grew and expanded from the wall before floating over to the Ralts and popping against her touch, leaving behind only a tiny pocket of mist.
A sudden rush would consume her mind. It was only a brief blink, but it was very much there.
More bubbles would come. Each one held a very brief blink that would take hold of Alice's mind.
They were all memories, and the emotions that came with them. It was a cascade of the experiences she had had through other people.
As more and more bubbles popped against her, they would begin to obscure her form and, indeed, the entire room.
When it finally cleared she would be revealed in her new form.

((By God Cy just fixed my Ralts. That was unexpecting, but cute.))

Alice was silent after her request. She assumed something was wrong until the crystal began to light. The Ralts’ attention reeled toward it in surprise. It was a bit frightening—she didn’t know if this was supposed to happen or not. As the light took over, her eyes suddenly burned and she flinched away instinctively in a small gasp with her hands over her tightly closed eyes. She honestly thought it was going to explode, to say the least. Did she say something wrong?
She took a moment to slowly look out from in between her fingers in the most marginal of space. The light was way too bright. She could actually feel heat off of it but she was curious. It dimmed then. Quickly at that and Alice moved her arms back to her sides in turn. She looked a bit dumbfounded, still standing there in place, staring out silently. What happened?
She looked down at her hands, then her body. She was still a Ralts. This... This was normal, right? What was that about?
Her attention drew up and back around the room, only to see a massive bubble approaching her. Honestly, it scared the living daylights out of her but it was pretty too. She cautiously raised a hand to touch it as it drew near and it popped on her touch. She flinched again, but giggled. She straightened herself forward again with a smile, her eyes watching the mist fade into nothingness. It was peaceful for a moment, but then she remembered something. She didn’t know what it was yet, but something about it was familiar…
What was that about? With little to no time to wonder, her eyes widened in shock and she jumped back, grabbing her head. Something went horribly wrong—something didn’t feel right at all. Her jaw hung open ever so slightly as time seemingly stopped.

“Where am I…?”
Alice’s voice trailed off as she slowly focused again. Her fingertips still dug into the sides of her head through her long hair. She didn’t remember anything. Who she was didn’t have time to occur to her as her attention drew off onto the bubbles that popped against her. Alice merely blinked and stared off, ignoring them entirely as she frowned at nothing. How strange…
It took no time at all for her to blink again, but it was different. Her eyes regained their identity and everything was clear. Everything was hardly put lightly. Her eyes began to tear up as events she’d long forgotten became clear. Alice hardly had time to think about it herself, it… just hit her.

Anues was alive, wasn’t he? She was too.
She lived. That nothingness in her mind that always there for so many years—18 long years went by and she remembered everything. Names, places, words. She should have died.

“What did I…” What did she do that day? What set him off?

Nothing else mattered at that moment. Everything outside of her mind was ignored and closed out. She smiled then. It was so out of place, but she did. She didn’t stop and acknowledge she even was smiling.

Alice

The Kirlia looked down at her hands again. What happened while she was away all that time?
She reached up for a nonexistent necklace without really realizing she was to begin with, but she felt nothing. Was that normal? She thought she had it… How odd.
Something hit her then, she gasped and her eyes went wide before sprinting from the Chamber with no words at all. The Kirlia teleported before she even made it to the exit. A low screech sounded with her teleport’s crack.
She had to find Ethfael.

"I wish to evolve..."
A young body arrived on a limping gate to the Crystal Chamber, immediately pressing himself against the nearest wall and gasping for breath as pain took over the lower half of his being. As it seemed from the looks of things he had twisted his ankle pretty well upon his racing departure from the terror known as Steel; the avian's earthquakes still to be felt this ways away from the epicenter as small tremors that made rattling noises between the otherwise silent crystals of the room. Having wasted all the energy he had on the trek back to his team room before coming here, the Treecko felt as if that decision in and of itself was regrettable enough. Within the minutes between his father's departure and his own it had seemed that Team Crim's living quarters had been torn entirely apart; the hurry of it all rather obvious and only a few key items missing from their place as Mugen seemed to have left with only as much he could carry on himself to wherever he had headed off to from there. Ace gave little care to any of these facts and left the room as is. From here he had no plans of returning himself; the home he grew up in simply left with doors wide open for new occupants or for that matter the first ones lucky enough to come along and pillage before the guild realized the state of vacancy.
