I could get a letter... but then I would have hardly anything for my quest.
But I guess my quest can wait becuase these letters wont be that price forever.

Koukon_Tenshi Zetan Ooo! Oooo! Donation letters are out!This one looks promising, too. Just transfered enough to Paypal that I will be able to get 16 letters by August 30 if it looks like they'll be worth it. I'll only do so if they're worth at least 5k by then. That would total to 80k, and put me at... over 100k total! My quest will take a giant leap forward. xd This is way better than paying for games like EQ.
I'm planning to donate again this month, but not 16 letters...
And I love this month's items!!!!! whee Well, here's the way I look at it. I enjoy playing Gaia far more than I enjoy playing some other games which I have paid money for, but Gaia is free. The more I donate, the more money they have to make the server more stable, and hence, the funner the game becomes. Also, the more I donate, the more gold I get, and since I love having tons and tons of gold, the game becomes funner in this way as well. Finally, I have a job, and money just kinda keeps coming. If I have nothing better to spend it on (which, right now, I don't) why not donate $40 of it to Gaia? It's really a win-win situation all around, no matter how you look at it. Of course, now I just found out that a friend owed me $60, and wrote me a check for it. So now I hafta resist the urge to pop all that into Paypal and donate $100 to Gaia, getting me 40 letters and likely in the range of 200k in gold. xd Oh, what I could do with 200k. I could go out and just buy an AFK and OMG if I had 200k more than I have now! Not that I want either hat, but it's just the idea of it. That's a lotta freaking gold.

Of course, now I'm starting to look at the prices of everything in terms of real-world gold.
If you don't pick a particular month, and just donate in the middle of the month, you can get 4k per letter. Each letter costs $2.50. So, the formula for converting a gold price to a real price (using G for gold and $ for real world price).
(G/4000)*2.5=$
or
G/1600=$
Using this we discover that, for instance, the Angelic Sash, worth 400k in gold, is worth $250 in real-world cash. Really puts into perspective just how much those things are really worth.
However, using strategic donating during 'good' months and saving of letters while they rise in value, the actual cost of such things can be far less. For instance, for a very popular letter (such as this month's is sure to be), it isn't uncommon to see it rise to 5k within just a week or two, at most, from the opening date. This reduces the formula to G/2000 and re-calculates the price of the sash (just because it's a good example) to $200. So just by spending carefully and having a teeny bit of patience, you could save $50.
In a more extreme example, if you not only buy strategically but then wait a few months instead of a few weeks, you can do much better. Take, for example, the recent June letters. After just two months, their worth has risen to almost 8k. This puts the formula at G/3200 or $125 for a scarf. Of course, this would involve donating the $125 at the right time and waiting several months until you could sell the letters for that high, but it is possible to do. Heck, it's even possible to get a scarf for $100, which I have and am considering donating. Not sure if, when I get the 400k (assuming I wait that long to cash in the letters) I will buy a scarf with it (in fact, I'm almost certain I won't) but it's just something to think about. I'm still not even sure about donating $100, but I am starting to seriously consider it.
