Sooooo still no idea what to take and the appointment is tomorrow.

I'm thinking Creative Writing and Fine Arts at least, then perhaps Philosophy and Humanities? Not so sure on Humanities, but Philosophy interests me quite a bit. There's also this Career and Education Planning course that might benefit me...

We'll see.

Turns out I have to take an English Placement Test of sorts since I never completed my 12th Grade English class. We'll see how things turn out afterwards.

Also as it turns out, they deferred my want to learn to draw to an art school, but that requires a portfolio, which essentially means I have to have drawn before and have something to show for it. I most certainly do not have much of any art experience! Also, that particular school is quite expensive, at least for my meager wages >_>

I don't think art school is your path. When do you take your placement test?

GR - I never read that post of yours, but yes, I have read that story...Pequininos, right? Wasn't that the name of the species? There are a few plant ones, Chalker has one, Farmer has Taprisiots (they look like logs), so luckily I have read those, I suppose there are more out there.

*raises eyebrows* You've got a good memory, umar. I've read the series a couple of times and the only name I can ever remember is "piggy's".

Good luck, Ethan!!!! *crosses fingers for you*

Best of luck Ethan. Your English skills are superior so I am sure you will do well.

@GR - Yeah, somehow the name just popped into my head. I was startled that I remembered since I have only read the book twice I think.

Yeah, it seems easy enough. Multiple choice stuff. Shouldn't be too hard.

I've run into another snag, though. The school (and any other school here, at least) REQUIRE that I have my passport and papers regarding my immigration/residency status @_@ And I have misplaced that stuff! >_< I can't find it. If I don't find it within two weeks I won't get admission!!!

Good lord, you better turn that house upside down!

We did turn it upside down! >_<

Anyway, I aced the test (95% in reading comprehension, 92% in sentence structure), and the marker-lady said my essays were good just needed a bit of polishing up. In essence, I am admitted, huzzah!

Now I just gotta register for clases, and make sure to get my passport somehow...

Those curious, I will be taking the Associates of Art Creative Writing 2-year program, and if it's all good, I can go ahead and do the 4-year Bachelor of Art Creative Writing @_@

Doubt. Unsure. Uncomfortable. No confidence. Frustration. -_-

I'm not sure if I'm ready for school. I don't want to go and let it end up being like high school again. Argh, I'm not sure! I don't know. I keep thinking I'm doing this all for the wrong reasons. Blargh! I've got some advice in that take only one class, or wait until next semester and prepare early this time. Bleh bleh bleh!

When I started back to college after a hiatus where I worked, I only took ONE class the first semester, can you believe it! I was really not sure that I was ready and I wasn't sure I could really commit to doing it. But you know what? It was a lot easier than I thought and the very next semester I took 3 clases and did just fine with that.

So it is up to you, but you are probably ready.

:S well...I don't know. I'm leaning towards waiting one more semester to prepare early and have an idea of how to go about things. I realize now I'm not really prepared, ya know? Anyway, I still have until my bday to register...assuming there arestill seats.

I am not understanding why this is so hard for you. I mean, you seem to be having a lot of anxiety about going back. What about HS was so bad that taking up classes again is so fraught with worry? I remember when you were in HS and I remember when you left it. There was something completely different going on with you back then. You are so much a different person now. Those old anxieties are not valid anymore I am thinking. Don't let the past poison you. Ignore it and seek only the benefits of current action. Delay on your part is giving in to fears that I don't think really exist now. Just habitual thinking.

Perhaps. Perhaps I am too used to life as is that actually taking action (as opposed to idle dreaming) is very frightening when it shouldn't. I will ponder this further.

I can start on English Prep (a class I need to get into Creative Writing). There are two classes; one that's completely in-person, but the classes are all in the morning (early early!). There's another which is 75% online, but I'm not really sure what this entails.

Well I've gone and applied for the partially-online course. There's one in-person class a week, so far as I understand. The rest of the course is online.

I still have time to add more classes, up to my b-day, so if I decide to take a second class (or more)...
