Everything felt so surreal, even his embrace. She'd hoped for it once, long ago, but had given up that hope, even if the longing had never left.
"No, I mean, it's just..." She hesitated, made reluctant by even the slightest possiblity of ruining this. "My friend, Shomoro, she's going to ahve cubs again, and she'll need help." Maybe...maybe Kiza lived close by? Maybe she could go back and forth or something?

"Oh, why didn't you tell me that before? Was that the den you were sleeping inside of?" He now felt bad asking her to leave, though had somewhat good news. "Anyways, her den isn't too far from mine. If thats what your hoping for. But, wouldn't it be nice to just take a little break from it all every now and then?" He smiled once more.
"Anyways, if you ever plan to have cubs, how would you be able to handle taking care of both?" He grinned widely. Though he was in love greatly with her, he also wanted to once again have a blooming family. Even the thought of cubs made him squeal. "Maybe i'd be able to come with you sometimes and help out? That might be fun. Though, i'd have to meet your friend first, I suppose."

"I guess I was too preoccuppied." Sheshe nodded then in answer. After leaving the care of her adoptive mother, it was Shomoro she'd gone to live with. Then she laughed, nuzzling into his mane. When had it gotten so thick and nice? "I'm a nanny, I'm supposed to take care of cubs! But I suppose it couldn't hurt, taking a break...her sons are almost grown, after all. Someone will just have to teach them how to handle children..."
At the mention of having cubs of her own, she brightened in a shy way. What lioness didn't dream of having cubs of her own, particularly a nanny like her? It was a dream she'd been certain would never come true, after Kiza had taken a mate. She could never give another her love, not when it belonged so intensely to her childhood friend.
"I...I'd like to meet your son," she said after a moment. How would he feel about all of this? His mother gone, father taking another mate...

"I'm sorry. I wouldn't want to take you from your ... job. It is important to the pride. Though, wouldn't it be nice to take a break and ... have some of your own?" He smiled happily, and then licked her head gently. As soon as she mentioned his son, he paused.
"Of course you may meet Wahabu. Hes probably the best thing I ever got from having a mate! He is a true blessing to have. Probably the most gentle, most behaved son any father could ask for. I'm sure he'd love to meet you, as well." Kizamaji nodded as he looked back towards his den.

"Yes.." she admitted sheepishly, as though reluctant to let her old dream back out into the open. But now was the time. Now, it could come true. Just like this one had.
"He sounds wonderful." Sheshe purred. Perhaps, in the end, everyting had been for the best. "What does he look like?" Blue, like Kiza?

"Yes, Wahabu is very wonderful. Though, I admit he looks nothing like me. He looks almost identical to his mother, while ... my daughter who ran off, looked like me. Hes yellow, with golden hair, and a few blue stripes here and there. He only inherited the blue stripes from me. That was about it." He smiled once more and then stood up.
"So, would you like to go to my den and meet him now? I'll take you there." He turned, questioning the lioness. If anything, might as well have her meet him now. Wahabu would be more than happy to meet Sheshe. He was sure of it.

Yellow! Kiza's mate had been yellow? Funny how before she'd come here, she hadn't known lions could be yellow - or blue, or this or that - and once she had, they were everywhere! Not that Sheshe was complaining. Yellow and blue were her very favorite colors...for rather obvious reasons. They reminded her of her family.
"I'd love to." The lioness' heart continued to soar, and for once she rose with little trouble, as though oblivious to the difficulty.

"Thats great. Well, then follow me. Its not very far away." And so, the blue male led Sheshe towards his den, where Wahabu would be at. It would be a nice way to start off by showing Wahabu whom Kiza would eventually become mates with. And also to make sure that even he liked who Kiza chose as his next mate, and well .. his possible step-mother.
He led her through the grass that he previously trailed through earlier, and then into the tall grasses. The tall grasses kept his den nicely hid from intruders and most lions didn't notice it was even there. Soon they would be walking into the den, and hopefully all would go according to plan.
