"But that's the patriotic duty of all siblings- to drive the other insane!" He laughed heartily, dislodging Esrath, who fell with a plop onto the flagstone floor. He hissed in annoyance.

Luminita let out a roar of laughter. "I take it your not too shy of kicking out Esrath?" she said, her breath rasping from laughing so hard.

Esrath would have blushed if his jet-black scales allowed it. He reverted to full size, causing the house-elves to leap out of the way. Illuminatus slapped his scaly side in a friendly way, saying, "Esrath's one of my best friends. He's wise, powerful, and extremely comical." Esrath hissed in a tired sort of way, and said (to Luminita's surprise) in somewhat raspy English, "I admit I embarrassed you, but is a eulogy on me really necessary?" Illuminatus ruffled the scales on his head and smiled. "I'm going to have a chat with the Basilisk. She's really quite a delightful serpent, and thankfully Salagazh are not affected by those beautiful eyes...." He trailed off and slithered out the door to the Chamber of Secrets. There was a loud smack as Illuminatus's hand met his forehead, trying desperately not to burst out laughing again. "At least he's decided to do something other than drain my tea and eat everything in sight," he said as he looked at the decimated tray of snacks. Then he grabbed his shoulder as if burned, wincing. "What the-?" he choked.

"Illuminatus whats wrong?" she asked. Quickly, she dug into her bag pulling out a vial of a glowing amber liquid. "It'll temporarily releve any pain your in," she said worriedly.

"Thanks," he said, leaning on her for support as a sudden wave of weakness hit him. He drank a bit of the potion, feeling a tremendous warmth spread through him. He pulled down the neck of his robes to reveal a rapidly receding burn. "Woah. Did that happen at the lake? I never felt it..." He trailed off as the burn faded all together. He looked at Luminita, surprised. "What kind of potion is this?"

"Oh just a potion my mother invented. It won't cure the burn but it will hold off the pain and any trace of it until you can get to a healer," she replied. "I could take a look at it myself if you like. I'm very skilled in the healing arts," Luminita told him.

"The damage isn't serious but still dark so advanced healing will be required but isn't impossible since nothing has been removed." Luminita opened her satchel once more and pulled out a rag and a vial of a blue-green liquid. She opened the stopper, dripping the tiniest amount onto the rag.
"This will sting intensely, I apologize ahead of time," she told him. Luminita placed the wet rag onto the invisible burn and patted it down gently.

"Ah! That does sting!" He winced, but didn't draw back. He watched in amazement as his skin started to glow faintly, and dispite the pain, a sense of well-being overwhelmed him as the dark magic was broken. "You should be a rapid-response healer when you leave hogwarts." Illuminatus exclaimed. "You really have a talent for that, and I'm grateful."

"I guess...you could say women in my family don't usually live too long, even if I do become a healer it won't last very long," she replied dimly.

"I don't know, its just happen that way, it doesn't really have a pattern either, so I suspect its nothing magical. I might live, who knows, but I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't,"
