That whole first post reads like it was written by somebody who played maybe ONE Final Fantasy game. Daxel, I bet if the Tales series was the popular one, you'd hate that and love Final Fantasy.
You know what's even MORE annoying than the rabid FF fans? The imbeciles that hate the series for no reason.
Real gamers appreciate good production values and an entertaining experience above all, and if the game delivers that, why does it matter what the title is?

You don't like alot of text (btw, all cutscenes in FFX and X-2 were voiced), you don't like turn-based combat, and if you don't care for the scripts in Final Fantasy, you're not gonna find anything better anywhere else (i've looked, they're all cheesy). Sounds like an "RPG" more like Mass Effect might be more your style.

The series as a whole is great but not flawless it has some goods and some bads.
I don't agree using FF VII as your staple but...I guess it's ok. It's the most popular and brought RPGs to the mainstream.

Did you seriously just compare a franchise 20ish years old to Kingdom Hearts? You = fail. FF > KH. Hating Cloud? "OMG111 SORA X ROXAS X AXEL1111" is worse than any Cloud pairing. Don't diss FF for gameplay when KH2 had one of the longest and most pointless "training"/"opening" levels.
As for story, so what? I like saving the world. Each FF gives you a new way to do it, making it feel refreshed. In VII, you had to take down a company and while fighting its past "skeletons in the closet" so to speak. In X, it made you think "Is committing to a perversed religion and giving up your life really worth it?" It pulls me into the story and the lessons learned can be applied to everyday life. Every FF I played was pretty good. I felt each game had solid gameplay and a good story with fun gameplay to boot. I don't however, treat FF like it's a god on Earth. All in all, you can like or hate which ever games you want too. Personally, it seems a little silly to hate a game for its fans, genre/style, and popularity. Get off your high horse and realize KH doesn't PWN.

Why take your opinions seriously if you can't even form well-thought-out opinions? Hating a series for its game style and its fan base is pretty lame.
Don't say a game franchise made up of 12+ games spawning 20+ years is s**t in comparison to a game series lucky enough to last past a card-battling half-game threw up to keep people interested in it. KH downgrades Disney. KH downgrades SE. talk2hand
I don't know why you hate a game series for its fans and for its gameplay. If you don't like turn based, don't play FF, (It's like hating Mario and calling it s**t because it's a platformer) but don't come into a guild and s**t all over a series and downgrade the piss out of it because of a select members of its fanbase.
