The Queen threw back her head and laughed at the prince whom she danced with, which looked down at her with a wide charming smile as he swept her into another turn on the dance floor.

The mage shook his head, smiling fondly at her. "Come now Alli, it isn't so hard. Just go. If they don't like how you dance and don't offer to help you learn, or just are mean to you, I will spell them, perhaps into a fly..." His smile widened, but he seemed half serious as his gaze roamed the dance floor. Upon seeing another, he pointed. "There you go Alli, another mage for you to speak with. She walks over there in the red and black dress, she is a but higher in rank than you, but she has had more years. She is very nice. Why don't you go speak to her?" He turned his head, emrald hair flying as he waved and yelled across the ballroom. "Rayne!! "

Alli looked at the woman who he was talking about. She played with her waist-length violet hair a bit, and kept her hands behind her back. She smiled at her teacher, and waved slightly to the woman.

Dante stood on a balcony in the castle, surveying the area for any threats, he had taken this job after he had quit demon slaying, he knew the queen moderately for his father, Sparda, had known her long ago, Dante was not fond of his father for some of the things he had done but, nonetheless, he was family, shunning his father ever existing would be both a sign of weakness and stupidity.

The Queen let go and thanked the charming prince for the dance when the song was over, smiling. As she stepped to the edge of the floor she glanced around, wondering where one of her friends, a swordsman, was. She had thought he would be attending the ball too, as though not on guard.
She smoothed her skirts, turning to talk and smile to the others that had come up to her, asking for a dance, to talk...

Dante re-entered the main room in which many, many couples were dancing, he saw the Queen and decided to be polite and greet her. "Greetings your Grace, you are looking quite beautiful tonight." Dante said politely with a bow. "I suspect there are a lot of gentlemen requesting to dance with you?" Dante said with a light, polite and warming smile as he spoke to her.

Alli circled the dance floor once again, watching the others dance. She went over the steps in her head, and sort of started dancing with herself. She kept her hands together behind her back, and did the steps. "1, 2, 3." She whispered to herself.

Dante saw a woman dancing by herself, he walked over to her. "Hello Miss, would you like to dance?" He asked with a polite and warm smile.

Alli looked at him, and blushed. "S-sure!" She smiled, shuffled her feet, and held her hands out a bit, not exactly sure what to do with them.

Dante smiled and took her hands, he began to dance expertly with her, looking over at the Queen every so often just to make sure she was not being hassled.

Alli looked at her feet, making sure she wasn't stepping on his feet. She remained quiet, and was slightly pink.

Dante had noticed, just before she looked down, that she was blushing lightly, he smiled at this.

Alli bit her tongue, she couldn't think of anything to say. The song changed, and she tried to think of the dance that the others were doing. Her mind was blank, she didn't know the dance! She kept one eye on the couple dancing next to them, and tried to copy them, failing miserably.

Dante leaned forward and whispered in her ear. "You don't need to be embarrassed, I'll dance, it's the fact I get to dance with you that matters.." He whispered softly.
