Left...?
The lioness exhaled a bit forcefully, looking directly at the black and white male. Helpful or not, he was certainly living up to the reputation that she and her brothers had first learned of Pridelanders.
"Why would you assume I left anyone behind?!" She asked incredulously, with sudden confidence and demand, staring at him. Poor Shin, it seemed like he'd be the first and only one to ever trigger a breakdown from the peaceful girl. "I don't understand. Most of the Pridelanders I've met have been rude, bitter, and bossy! Your Queen seems to be the only one among you that -doesn't- have some kind of problem! You all have it entirely too good here to act so mopey. You don't have to fight over food, or shelter, or worry about being attacked or having things stolen from you, you just lead these cushy lives! Augh!"
She growled, standing up and pacing aggressively to the opposite end of the watering hole.
"I came here because I thought we'd be able to get away from lions like -him-. So yes, I left someone behind, but I did it for my daughter's safety and my own."
A few seconds went by at the end of her tangent, and... and right around that second she realized how severely she'd just overreacted, over one little question that probably wasn't even directed at her. She looked towards Shin again, feeling ashamed, and horrified by her own behavior.
"... I'm sorry. I-I was completely out of line. I'm sorry that I bothered you." Was all that she could manage, turning again to leave, not that she'd blame him if he flipped out on her at this point.

 Moody though he was, despite the anger and bitterness he felt toward his sister, Shin was not an aggressive lion, the only lion who had ever really known his temper had been the one he'd thought he needed to protect his sister from. He did not lash out or growl at the lioness as she may have expected, but simply stared at her, blinking in surprise at the sudden outburst.
Finally he looked away with a snort, laying his chin to rest on his own paw.
"Well maybe you've just met the wrong lions then." The sarcasm quickly faded from his voice," It's not perfect here either you know."
What was her problem anyways? Girls, go figure. Growing up with girls, surrounded by sisters, he still didn't understand them, he doubted he ever would. Maybe he didn't want to, if he did he might go crazy too.
"Whatever, forget it."

The guilt weighed even heavier when he responded, and instead of fleeing as she'd originally intended to do, Kimya shifted back around, facing him again and slowly sank to her haunches.
".... You're right... and I did overreact..."
She wasn't sure what more to say, but was reluctant to leave. She could sense that something was wrong, but felt out of place to ask.

"I said forget it, it doesn't matter."
A plink of water, ripples racing toward the shore, a brief dance of water from the small stone that had pierced the smooth surface, swatted there by the lion's paw. He hadn't lifted his head, had spoken with his gaze still fixed on the water, determined to pay more attention to the reflections than the lioness that stood nearby.
"Stupid sister..."
His voice had been a mutter, barely audible, spoken only to himself. If the lioness had over heard him, it wouldn't have matter, it wasn't her he was speaking to.
With a sigh, Shin rolled onto his back. This wasn't working, moping around wasn't making him feel any better or less angry. Maybe he should go find his little brother, a game with Kiv might help, at least maybe for a little while. Or maybe he'd find Totoro, they hadn't played a game in a while, maybe his long time friend felt abandoned as he did, forgotten in the midst of younger siblings.... Or maybe he'd just go for a swim, yeah, sure, that sounded like a good idea.
There was no warning. In a single motion he was on his paws, a moment later there was a great splash, the calm surface shattered as the lion dove, water dancing through the sunlight in his wake.

He said not to worry about it, but for her it wasn't that easy. She was ready to try again to apologize, but looking up, found herself soaked instead. She yelped in surprise, teeth and jaws clenched together as the chill sank in past her fur. One great shiver, and the lioness gave a shake to loosen the water from her pelt.
"R-right, I'll just... be g-going now then."

It was only a moment later, though perhaps it may have seemed longer, the water was broken again as the lion emerged through the surface with a deep breath. His now drenched mane, clung to his shoulders, bangs falling over his eyes. That was better, maybe he should have done that sooner.
He had not thought of the lioness as he jumped into the water, nor of the effects of the surge of water he had unleashed with his dive. Now, as he paused in his swiming, he caught sight of the tan pelt, now as drenched as he was, looking quite a bit thinner with her fur plastered down by the water.
And he did something unexpected, he laughed, hard, he couldn't stop. Was it even that funny? Or was it simply a release of all that had held in over the past months, a break in his bitter mood? Either way, it was a shame Kiv and Totoro hadn't been there to see it, he'd have to tell them about it later.

.... Kimya's brain broke, clean in two, no really it did! Of all of the responses she might've been expecting, such a jovial one following their tense meeting and exchange of words, this was not one of them! She blinked, blue eyes wide, and a rather cubbish expression on her face, as if she'd just been poked in the nose.
Well that was unexpected.
At last some of the aforementioned tension dispersed, letting Kimya stop to take a deep breath of relief, and let it out again on the exhale.
"Well thank you for showing me the watering hole," Another strong shudder, she finally had to shake herself off again, hoping the sun would dry her pelt soon. "But... before I go, I didn't get your name."

His mood forgotten for the moment, a smile had replaced the sulk that had remained on his maw for far too long, and though later he would feel angry again, for now at least he felt better.
"Huh? Oh, you're welcome."
He swam a short distance, tail flicking, enticing the fish brave or curious enough to approach him. He'd go find Totoro after this, a game with his best friend sounded like a wonderful idea.
"My name's Shin."

His smile seemed to push some release valve, as if cued, her body drooped some, relaxing fully. It was the only proof she needed to assure her he really wasn't holding anything against her.
"Shin..." She smiled, nodding. "It was nice to meet you."
~I hope that whatever is going on between you and your sister, you feel better soon.~
With that last thought, she turned, black tail flicking behind her as she sauntered off to sun dry somewhere.
