Just Call Me Anonymous .::] " Yeah, I agree with Rue, considering the Church is kind of like the government, if they don't like you, they can get rid of you. And obviously if Ramza was a weaker man he would have died ten times over with all the people that knew he was a 'heretic'. " [::. Government? Sounds more like the mob. Think about it, the Vatican is in the middle of ITALY! The pope's like the godfather. Edit: Yes, Mustadio and Balthier are related, they share the last name Bunansa, and a love of guns (in FFXII:RW, he's considered a gunner job class).

.::] " I'm really wondering which FFT related game to go with next, I haven't seen all of FFTA but I don't really want to go back to that, I don't have the time to play twelve, and FFTA2 seems like a waste of time and energy if I didn't want to stick with the first one... So that leaves Vagrant Story... How is it, and is it significant? " [::.

Vagrant Story is probably the least significant to the world of Ivalice, it takes place entirely in one town. But it's supposed to be an impressive game, I've only played the first 30 minutes of it though. The Graphics are a little painful I think, very pixelated, like FFVIII but worse.

Quote: Er... it was worse than FFVIII's graphics.
You know how the characters in VIII were incredibly pixelated and their faces were just a blur? All of Vagrant Story is like that.
Old school graphics.. way back it was like... "holy crap! Awesome visuals!" Now we look at it and cringe... most people anyway.
I don't mind playing non-graphically par (compared to todays standards anyways...) games. As long as you enjoy them, thats all that matters. I would love to give Vagrant Story a whirl.

Rueian Prizm I think that Cloud was summoned during the time he was in the life stream allowing him to easily pass through to other times (or dimensions?)
The machinists probably had less to do about it then you think. I assumed from that scene (when the machine is turned on and cloud appears) that it was more of an accident then anything. He does actually mention being in a stream before being taken to Ivalice

As far as Vagrant Story fitting into the timeline, there are a few items that point to some Final Fantasy characters: Agrias, Beowulf, Orlandu gem, Agrias's Balm (necklace accessory).
In Final Fantasy Tactics, either PS1 or PSP version, Cloud has his limit breaks plus an extra one that most are unfamiliar with unless they have played vagrant story: cherry blossom. If my memory serves me right, it was a one-handed "break art", they're version of limit break.

The producer of this game previously worked on Vagrant Stroy and stated that he wanted to make a spiritual successor to Vagrant Story with FFXII. It really does feel a lot more like Vagrant story than any FF game, from the old medieval feel of the locales and language, the real time battle system, the soundtrack and even bosses including the last boss that bear a striking similarity to Vagrant Story. But FFXII features extensive notes on wildlife by a woman named Merlose -- who is in Vagrant Story as an observer, meaning it might take place after Vagrant Story. But then again, Vagrant Story contains items which are relics of Tactics' characters, including Agrias, Beowulf and Orlandu. So it could come after Tactics.

To be frank, I've never played Vagrant Story before, although I have seen it in the store oh so long ago, but never had the chance to pick it up since I didn't have much of a job. So I couldn't say, whether they feel, although on picture wise, inspite of the quality of the graphics during the time, I do feel it does feel more of FFXII.
From Final Fantasy Wikipedia.. gah.. I swear I got to stop relying on that site, it did state probably along with the proof of it having a connection from that diagram that they showed us of the Ivalice Timeline. It states that the story was before Final Fantasy Tactics, so it is connected in that sense.
