Yeah, you're right. All one word, 'aishiteru', and in one of the Death note episodes, Light says it to Misa, but not in a sentence, he just says 'aishiteru', and the translation was "I love you." I use that one a lot, though...>> xd

Sorry but this was annoying me. sweatdrop
As far as the "daisuke" thing. It's Daisuki meaning to really like someone. suki means to like heart
And to say I love you was mostly right. It's aishiteru. One word. mrgreen
But yeah, there are a lot of ways to say it.
