Kaoru Valentine Like when Plastic Tree opened for Marilyn Manson and got booed off the stage ((This is information from a website, so don't go yelling at me if it's wrong, please ^^)). That website was wrong, it was Pierrot. And what about bands touring without the anime convention. They're not all connected with anime. Thanks for liking my news section! I worked hard on it...^^;

Personally, if a band I really liked played at a con I'd cry myself to sleep every night. I can't even stand going into comic books stores anymore...a con might just kill me.

Apart from poisoning con-goers...
I think that it's great that the Japanese bands are coming to the US at all, even if it is at conventions. I mean, anime has it's own bad name going on sometimes, but that's just something you have to deal with with any fad. I know if a band I truly liked was playing at a con, or opening for some band I didn't like (like the Pierrot thing, I totally would've been there, cheered for Kirito-sama like no other, then left when Marilyn Manson came out), I would try my best to be there. And there are cons everywhere too, so if most bigger cons can get a JRock attraction that's near to where I live, more power to them. I guess my main point is that I live in the middle of nowhere. If a band is doing their own tour, it's probably going to be shorter and centralized in the east or west coast, and Robynie in the midwest isn't ever going to see anyone, or if I do travel aways, it's not going to be for some group I've never heard of. While if they're at a con or something close by (not that I've ever been to a con, but I've had opportunities), then I'd be ok with going to see someone I'd never heard of and get the most of the other events while broadening my musical horizons.
