Oh he would be her tour guide? Her eyes seemed to light up at the prospect of being accompanied through the area. With a stallion such as him by her side she would be able to see much more, even the secret spots that few 'tourists' were aware of. This was simply an opportunity she couldn't miss and to say her smile grew was an understatement.
Gleeful.
"The mountains are a very beautiful place, you can see so much and there are so many treasures hidden behind the veil of the mist," she replied gently, still completely unaware of his thought processes. It was a shame that he felt so strange in her company but then again, one might have said she was in much the same position. "However I would be most grateful for the company...you have seen so much of these lands and know the best spots." It was here that she hoped she seemed approachable and genuine, as this was what she was but given her track record...
"As for what I have seen so far, it is very pleasing...though you are the first thing I have seen in all truth."

Goodness, her reaction was surprising to the stallion! She went from being utterly quiet to something much opposite. Huojin could only smile in a genuine matter from her response, before shifting himself next to her side. "I am glad to be of assistance." he then said, while leading her forward on the rocky trail. He would lead her away from the mountain ledge now, so that she could walk on some comfortable grass, or maybe through some pleasant looking trees. "I hope that is alright if we go this way?" he was still walking even though he asked, assuming she was polite enough to give him the lead. "But, if you see something interesting, just let me know and we can change directions!" he wasn't particularly focused on one place, so he was open to any change to her liking.
"So I am the first thing you have seen? I don't know if I should be honored.. or worried." he chuckled lightly, knowing that his appearance was not disappointing. "It would be nice if you could see some other creatures that dwell down here.. I am not nearly enough for show. All sorts of races and personalities exist, and I can vouch that I have met quite a few individuals.." Some were good, while others were just bad! It would be awful if the mare had to be stuck with a personality like that.. she was far too innocent and truthful!
For the time being.. Huo could watch over her, right? That was good.. he had a good eye for idiots if they approached! Plus, it felt like he had a task now, and that was refreshing.

Ah, it truly was a good thing she couldn't read his mind. It was a given that if she had known he had chosen to take her safety as a task then she would have misinterpreted it as being a burden upon him! She couldn't help herself, her thought processes were most peculiar and illogical but she was truly grateful for his hospitality given what she had heard from the mountain dwelling creatures about certain lowland soquili.
If there was one thing she didn't want to meet, it was a Kalona!
Nevertheless, she quickened her pace to catch up with him and permitted him a slight lead so that he could show her round in the most efficient manner. He did know the way after all, for her to stand by his immediate side may have been awkward if he decided to turn her way and bumped into her accidentally. That being said, some might have argued (particularly her mother) that such little collision could have been quite romantic. Farsiris wasn't quite sure she followed what her mother meant by that...
"I do not understand why you would be worried, you have been very nice to me," she tried her best to explain as she listened to his chatter. He was being ever so pleasant to her and she found it hard not to smile. Every word he uttered made her lips lift, it was a nice feeling. "What else lives down here? I know there are soquili but what other creatures...do you have lions too?" she enquired softly.
Her tail flicked against her flank as she walked forward and every now and then she gave a toss of her head to straighten out her mane. "And eagles?"

"Well, I only worry because there are some unpleasants who exist in this land, and it would suck to run into them." he rolled his eyes slightly at the thought before allowing himself to focus on the mare's other words. He quickly changed his expression at her questions, and he also allowed the familiar grin to mold on his face. "Ah yes, all sorts of creatures! I have never seen lions, but I have heard they exist from my brother. And as for eagles.. I suppose you should look to the sky for that answer!" Birds constantly flew around and above, and Huo raised his eyes expectantly while looking for any flying figures. "I've always wanted to fly myself, and some Soquili are able. Have you seen those kind in the mountains?" If there were Unicorns in the mountains.. there had to be others, right?
"And there are sea dwellers.. and munchkin sized Soquili.." he paused, and chuckled at the though. I have seen an Usdia before, and they are most certainly adorable. Sea-horses though, I have only heard of them in myth." And Kalonas and Skinwalkers.. was it even necessary to bring them up? There was no reason to ruin the conversation..
"Keep your eyes open and sharp, and maybe you will see some creatures!" he then said, while pinning his own eyes on the landscape with an excited expression. "Its more helpful if four eyes are used instead of two!"

"My uncle has wings!" Farsiris seemed positively delighted as he mentioned something she could relate to. Her uncle was of course her best friend's father, she had long since adopted him as her uncle due to the close nature of her bond to that family. Grencia and his son both had extravagant wings, thus the enquiry about knowing of their existence was a given - as for the others though.
...She'd never heard of a munchkin soquili.
"Lions though, you do not always want to meet them...some aren't very nice," she explained, her ears pricked for any tell tale signs of approaching creatures. "They can creep up on you and go - RAWR!" she mimicked the roar as best she could though her soft voice couldn't quite reach the same volume as the beasts upon the slopes. "Others are very nice though," she cleared her throat as she regained her composure and shrugged mildly.
"...But how big are munchkin soquili?" She enquired, still unaware they were called Usdia to begin with. "Do they squeak like babies?"

Ah, her uncle? Huo wasn't sure of the family facts, but it wasn't really necessary at this point. That must of been cool for him, since he could fly whenever he wished! Huo was definitely jealous of that.. "Ah, your uncle must be strong. It takes a lot of effort to fly, or that's at least what I've heard." He shrugged comfortably, before smiling lightly at the female.
Her 'rawr' was incredibility entertaining! He tried hard not to laugh, since he didn't want to hurt her feelings of course.
"Munchkin's are completely normal, they speak our language and have our same thoughts. They are just smaller then us! They look.. like ponies that don't grow, but they are a bit rounder." Huo wouldn't admit it, but Usdias were actually very cute at first glance. That wasn't a comment that was necessary for him, since it was hardly masculine.
"I think you would really enjoy their company! I wish we could find one.." He gazed ahead suddenly, feeling like he had a task of his own or something. "Who knows what we can find, I just don't want to disappoint you." He wanted her to have fun.. this was her first time out of the mountain for gosh sacks!

Composed...that was one way of putting it. In truth her mind was usually a whirl of activity to the point that she didn't even hear the chatter around her. Nevertheless, as she did in the company of others, she cast aside her idle chatter and listened politely to everything the stallion had to say. He was right, her uncle was rather strong but he rarely proclaimed that flight was any form of a challenge for him at all.
...She assumed it came with the territory, something well practised from birth.
"...Rounder, you say?" she tried to visualise a tiny, fat munchkin of a horse and her stoic expression cracked. The smile fluttered onto her lips and she couldn't help but giggle gently - oh they sounded utterly adorable and most peculiar. Granted, it was unlikely they would survive on the slopes but to encounter one here...oh, that was certainly something that she wanted to do during her stay!
"Well I would certainly like to meet one but I doubt anything down here could disappoint me," she pointed out, her expression genuine and her tone light. "You are no disappointment after all!" It was just a little out of sorts for her but she was an honest creature and so far he had been so very pleasant to her. "If there are other things and creatures of such a good quality lurking on the lowlands then I doubt I will be unhappy." She cooed softly.

"I am glad to hear I am good company, I'm trying to improve my own social skills." he then admitted, with a slight grin. "Practice makes perfect, and although some of my past communications have gone badly, you are quite the opposite! I can only thank you for your pleasant company, I think I am learning a lot about politeness in my own way." So they were both learning, and he was not ashamed to admit it? It showed how young the two of them were to the world.
He did enjoy that the mare laughed a bit, it wasn't that it was a change of character for her, but it was a nice sign of comfort in front of him. "So is there still snow up on the mountains even in the spring? What happens in the summer?" He wondered about that, and if the snow lasted even until now! "What will you do when it is summer?"
Hopefully she would be alright.. some creatures just hated the warmth, but was this mare one of them? "Sometimes I wonder if I would like the mountains because of the cold, but I may be a wimp you know!" He grinned with amusement, admitting again to another flaw of his. He just hated the cold, especially after awhile.

"Oh, there's still snow in the highest peaks," she could recall the thinning of the ice caps and the snow upon the ground, but it had still been there. It still glistened, blinded the unsuspecting eye and yet...every now and then the tiny sprouts of new growth could be seen protruding from it. It was an indication of the changes to come but it will still there for now.
"But in summer it disappears, we get some lovely flowers!" She shook the hair from her eyes and continued to walk, matching his place as she mused over his questions. It was hard to describe how beautiful the mountains became in summer, she had often been a firm believer in seeing those sorts of miracles. "They're so small, but they're so beautiful."
"Even so...what do you mean when you ask what I will do in summer?" She asked softly, she didn't quite follow his train of thought or the question. Admittedly, her coat would thin and she would moult horribly but did he mean a change in activity or something else?
"And as for being a wimp, I doubt that!" She chuckled lightly and fixed a small smile onto her equine lips, "I suspect you would find warmth wherever you looked on the slopes with such a lovely disposition."

"Ah, I didn't know that the snow disappears, so that's all I meant." he then responded, while realizing he was learning quite a lot about the mountain tops. "Are you a fan of flowers?" As he spoke, he looked at the flower that nested comfortably in her mane. "Well, I could have already guessed, but what is your favorite flower, if you have one of course." Huojin didn't have a strong opinion on flowers, but he did find them nice to look at and smell. And eating them was always a thrill as well!
He only gleamed at the mare's compliment, before quickly darting his eyes straight ahead again. Huo was actually quite confident, and he usually was cocky in front of guests or acquaintances. But this mare was different, and his rudeness wasn't necessary at the moment. He had never been around a mare or stallion that wasn't judging him, or mocking him for his beauty or attitude. Did he even have an attitude that was as awful as his mother said? He really couldn't tell at this point...
"If there is one thing I'd like to see on a mountain top, it would probably be the view of the stars." He then responded, while breaking a brief silence between them. It appeared that there were silences here and there as the two of them spoke, but at this point it was beginning to feel natural. "I know I keep dragging the mountain-subject on, but I must comment on how wonderful stars are to look at. Do you ever star gaze?" Huojin had never admitted this hobby of his to anyone, but he felt it appropriate with this mare. Afterall, she was so kind and maybe she liked it too. "Those and fireflies are what I look forward to most to summer".

"Ah..." Did she have a favourite flower? This was a question she hadn't really considered before and as she mulled it over in her mind she swiveled her ears back to listen to the conversation as it progressed. Well she certainly liked flowers, she thought them to be a rare beauty in the spring when they finally pushed through the snow and showed themselves to the world but...
"I don't think I have a favourite flower," she confessed ruefully, "I really like the one my mother gave me but they're all very beautiful in their own ways. Choosing would be a little unfair to the others," some would have argued that flowers weren't sentient beings but this young mare liked to think that everything in the world had life and some sort of feeling deep inside. Thus, she really didn't like the idea of hurting the flowers feelings.
Nevertheless, he did eventually bring up his hobby which was relatively similar to her own. She didn't stargaze religiously but looking up to them when lost in thought tended to help the process along. She found them pretty and sometimes, on those rare occasions she saw the stars cry and fall from their seat in the heavens.
"You star gaze?" It was a rhetorical question and she smiled pleasantly, nodding along to his word, "They're very beautiful, sometimes the mist covers the sky but if you walk through it to the peaks the view is beyond imagination." She'd only walked through the mists once and would probably only do it again when it was spring on the slopes. "Unfortunately it's very cold at the top so it's better to go in spring - I could show you sometime?"

"Unfair?" he then said, with complete shock to his voice. "Favoritism is a wonderful thing you know, it defines our personalities and helps up basically make crucial decisions! I don't think the flowers would find it unfair, on the contrary, I think they would enjoy being loved individually for whatever traits they possess specifically!" Huojin was, of course, blatantly talking about himself and his ideals. He enjoyed favoritism, since it lead to other interesting emotions like want or guilt.
Ah well, not everyone saw eye-to-eye with him! "I'm surprised you would even offer another meeting to spend time with me." he then said, with complete sarcasm to his kind voice. "Surely there are other things you could be doing then spending your time with me! If I may playfully add, does this mean you are favoriting me out of other Soquili?" His question was complex, but silly in a sense as well. He assumed it would throw the mare for a slight loophole. "That is in no way a criticism, for I am only observing and learning!"
Glee, this was fun. He wasn't sure if the mare could sense the playfulness in his voice, but he figured he would go on and try anyhow. There WAS humor to her words, and he wondered if he was the only one who was noticing it.

It may have been a complex question but it did it's job, she found herself stumped as he thrust it upon her and her expression was enough to show this. Bewildered wasn't the most accurate way of describing it but she did come to a halt briefly as her eyes fixed on him in confusion. The one she had been in the company of before had preferred to observe every little thing and spoke rarely but Huojin...
She supposed he had a point?
"Erm, I..." stumbling over her words, her voice quietened considerably. She turned her gaze to her hooves for a few moments as she mulled over his question a little more. She wasn't entirely sure which part to answer first, she wasn't even sure if her answer would be 'right' at this precise moment in time! Ah, now was certainly a time when she wished her mother and guardians had encouraged her to socialise more.
She was so confused.
"I am not supposed to offer to show you the sights you express interest in?" she asked this in a rather hesitant voice. Unaccustomed to dealing with such a tone of voice and the humour he chose to use. She wasn't aware that offering to be a guide acted as a form of favouritism but apparently in these lands it did...
"Ah, I like to be in the company of those who are pleasant," she continued after a few moments, still shaking her head as she attempted to discern exactly what message he was trying to send her. Although, it was with a flip of her mane and a soft sigh that she did at last begin to walk again. "There is little to do when alone but I did not know this was favouritism...?"

"Alright alright, don't worry!" he then said, while bobbing his head as he walked. "There is no need to think about my question that much. I was only playing around like I always do. But my mind was determined to ask such a question, why I'm not really sure. When I thought about the connection, I think I found it more humorous then it was." Or, Huo was referring back to old habits, where he usually made another feel belittled or something. He didn't want to use THAT tactic with this mare, so he only silenced himself from anything else that may have been somewhat strange or rude. Blech, he was complicated wasn't he?
"I really am not that pleasant." he then admitted, while knowing had referenced these words just moments ago. "I suppose we all have bad habits, but I think I use mine too much. You don't seem like someone who even has bad habits or traits, and how is that?" It wasn't that he was doubting the mare, but he was truly perplexed by how she lived in such a manner. Huojin found it impossible to be nice ALL of the time, and he wondered if he was only faking at the moment. He didn't want to think such a thing, but he was negative most of the time.
"Do you think creatures are 'born' nice? Or is nice something you become?" he most certainly was born a brat, and he grew up in a bit of a blur. He still experienced bratty moments, but he couldn't tell if nice even existed sometimes. "Why do I feel like growing up takes awhile, rather then a short amount of time? Maybe I am still growing up, so that's why I am distressed." With a light chuckle, he lowered his eyes ahead of himself, and grinned at such a comment.

He really did ask quite a lot of questions, she had always thought she was bad but he clearly won. She fixed her gaze on the stallion, expression perplexed and one eye half hidden beneath her forelock. The more he spoke, the more puzzled she became and yet she was fascinated by the manner in which his facial expression changed with each passing second - he was quite unlike her other friend...whose expression never changed at all.
He wasn't granite. That was it.
That was why...
A small smile lined her equine lips as he reverted to trying to dissuade her from pursuing any form of friendship. His mention of bad habits, his assumptions - while she might have been a polite young mare, she found his words to be somewhat amusing. She flicked her mane back out of her eyes after a few moments, considering each question in turn as silence passed over the pair once again.
Clearly the landscape held little interest for either and the topics of conversation lay squarely upon each in turn. Farsiris had no doubt (in the back of her mind) that she had missed a number of amazing sights but perhaps she would see them another time. Her first encounter with a lowland soquili was already a far more interesting thing and he was rather handsome...if that was the right word for her to use.
"Everyone has their bad habits," she responded at last, her tone returning to it's usual soft quality. Slowing her gait to a half step every few seconds, she flicked her gaze upwards to the sky and observed the birds overhead. "Some say I do not speak loud enough, that I get distracted too easily... You simply have not had the opportunity to experience very many of these quirks, you know?"
"But these 'habits', good and bad make us who we are... If we were all the same we would be very boring," she sighed at this and lowered her gaze back to Huo. "Better than being an empty shell, nice or mean at least you're something as opposed to nothing..." She mused quietly before quickly shaking her head to dismiss the rather depressing thought.
"You have many questions but honestly I don't think you can be 'born' nice, I think it's just something you become based on how you see the world when you open your eyes for the first time," she could barely remember her birth but she vaguely remembered something very big, black and hairy chuckling at her and nudging her to her feet. Shortly after she had been introduced to Yei Umeko and since then...
She shrugged.
"Why would you be distressed about growing up, isn't that a good thing?"
