She knew Johari carried children within her womb and her uncle Mo had recently had a litter, children who would live their first months perhaps in fear of vultures. And she also knew what it was like to be happy with your children and to feel blessed. She wanted to feel that way again. Definitely.

Did it ever look down at this place and mourn to see its people in servitude and struggle? It was free and unhastled in the sky but also a prisoner to its position, unable to help those down here. She sighed and placed a head on her paw.

He had some things that he'd need to see to before setting back out again, of course, and his journey would have to be swift lest he return to carnage and bloodshed already in progress, but in the end it would be worth it. A home, a new life, a family, it was all well worth fighting for.
